    Nice Job

  • Haha! A few others have told me I look like him, but he is kind of weird nowadays:) Thanks hdtvcamera1

  • FUCKING SICK DUDE! Are you even using a pick?

  • Thanks alot. Yes, I think I did use a pick for this one its hard to see in this video, but sometimes I do use my fingernail on my first finger as a pick and it also works good.

  • Are you even using a pick. FUCKING SICK

  • If u Teach U will get alot of views ur nasty

  • thanks so much

  • I really like the tone

  • nice tone!

  • Hey Brother can you share the guitar tuning?

  • Yes, this song is tuned down 1/2 a step. In fact, almost all Van Halen songs are.

  • Hey! Bro. can you share the tuning?

  • Love the guitar!! I have the SAME ONE, but with a maple neck, & been playing it for over 10yrs =-) I have a vid up of me playing Eric Johnson's Cliff's of Dover on it - you should check it out.

  • Yeah. I like this guitar alot.

  • The tone is nice. The guitar is excellent. I like how concentrated you are in the music. The playin' is regimented and precise. Looks good, bro. I watch my fingers constantly.

    Friends,

    Johnnie

  • Thanks alot, the tone i got is just from the overdrive channel of a fender hot rod deluxe. I would like to try some effects sometime, what do you recommend as far as pedals go?

  • It sounds like you have a natural reverb in yer vid (sweeet). Every player should have some good delay. If you want excellent delay, start with Boss and go up. The best I've heard are made by TC Electronics and Eventide and are a bit more expensive. LMK what tones you're goin' for and maybe I can pitch in with more suggestions.

  • I would try to get a ZOOM 8080 effects processor, and a Morley wah. I Dont know if they make the 8080 anymore but there's always ebay.

I got mine for 80 dollars.

For practice at home I just use my zoom 505 processor, its old but it still kicks ass

  • As far as pro effects go (that aren't overpriced), check out Visual Sound. I use a Jekyll & Hyde, and it's amazing. Also, for this song, a Phase 90 is what Ed used. I've got this same song up using these FX, playing through a Hot Rod, just like you. It's sounds pretty darn authentic, for a living room recording. (I also used the J&H on Cliffs of Dover)

  • Thanks for the advice.

  • those G&L's run circles around Fenders.

  • Yeah they are very nice

  • Nice tone with this... Guitar is a sweet one. I like the fact that here you are in a good "concentration mode". Well done.

    All the best,

    Johnnie

  • That was cool bro...but YOUR playin the song,so play it like YOU made it up...what i mean is GET IN TO YOU MUSIC dude. Your a good player just look n feel the part n you'll be great!

    tomscorpion

  • Thanks alot. Ill have to do a scorpions song sometime! Any recommendations?!

  • you shouldnt play like that it was good but i cant tell if your a robot

  • What do you mean ,should i make a bunch of silly faces while i play?

  • lol of course not, but i mean its not fun to watch somone play if they dont look there having fun playing, put some more energy, heart into it. and itl even sound alot more emotional if you do

  • Fair enough

  • awesome cover and damn thats an awesome strat what model

  • Thanks alot. Its actually a G&L Legacy standard model.

  • Very cool. I'm sure Eddie would be stunned if he knew exactly how many people he inspired.

  • good job man

  • Sounds great!

Congratulations. I'm impressed by the flexibility on your ring finger - I wish I could selectively barre strings like you do, I can't - I always mute the first string ;)
