Tom was a very super earnest person, ... and pretty quick on his feet. there is no doubt that he had many wonderful moments as a interviewer and tv personality.

Great conclusion, especially with the late, great Peter Allen singing!

Tom Snyder: I miss him, still.
This guy, with an entertaining guest and a pitcher of water, was more entertaining than any of the so-called "big budget" late night fare...

I quite liked the ending. Never saw this before. Didn't think it was sappy or maudlin at all. What a legacy.

Wrote the guy back in 96, suggested John Stewart and writer Harlan Ellison as guests, he had 'em both on shortly thereafter.
God bless ya, old brother.

Thanks for this great memory. I tuned in that last night as I had a hunch that Tom would use my friend Peter Allen's song to close the show.
I'm sure that Tom and Ed McMahon are firing up some colortinis at The Smokehouse up above.

Looks like someone at the local affiliate had been overserved at the colortini counter.

Watch the colortinis as they fly up to heaven.

Thank you so much for posting this video. I remember watching it back in 1999, but it was nice to re-watch it after all these years.
I think TS himself would crack up with the local affiliate trying to take his goodbye away.
It's sad to see how many people have passed since the airing of Tom's show. There's TS, Merv Griffin, Gene Siskel, Jack Lemon.
Please post anymore TS you might have.
