I feel like a dumbass. I have read about the use of negative space and how you eyes pick up on it but it never clicked with me to use it. I'm going to try this RIGHT now.
I love you. Srsly. I've been in such a rut with my figures, my apartment is littered with balled up sketch paper.
I like the style, and it seems very easily picked up on, but I need to know, I got a friend (no seriously) I have this dude ya know, and he complains about he can't draw this and that, I tell sketch something everyday, but he just can't motivate himself, easily saddened, maybe you can give me a tip or two to pass on to him, thanks
For a beginning artist the most important thing is positive reinforcement and 'gentle' critique. Always state two positive things you like about the art.
Compliment-critique-compliment is key. Sometimes I'll add an extra compliment just in case. Say things that actually analyze their improvement as an artist.
Go slow, don't pressure him, and eventually your friend will see you as an asset. He'll develop the discipline on his own. Meanwhile, just be positive when he does draw.
Very handy, I try sketching negative space with the pencil and starting from there but I never thought of using an airbursh or something to flesh out the full figure.
Dude ^__^ thanks a lot for this... This technique is awesome >_<!! You're work is appreciated.

Gravity tends to do that, especially if they're that size. This is one of the reasons why they have invented the bra.

I usually don't comment on videos on youtube, but this one is so worth it. Totally loved watching you sketch. It was very smooth.
Going to try out this technique for sure! Just got to...stop being lazy.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial.
