  • how the hell did they make a car in 1983 that does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, thats just legendary, both cars are amazing

  • @londonas2 back then there was no regulation for the group B in terms of horsepower or engine capacity. The answer to ur question lies in the fact that 2 stroke motorcycles were wayy faster than the 4 stroke counterparts but 2 stroke motorbikes are now obsolete in most countries due to emission norms.

  • @cagednm69 true true, but this car is amazing

  • r.i.p. headphone users..

  • fifth gear sucks ass.Rly dont like that.

  • lächerlich....die ganze Zeit fährt der Uri dem Evo davon und plötzlich geht auf der Geraden nix? was wollen die einem verzählen....vielleicht wollten sie die junge Generation nicht zu Alt aussehen lassen xD

  • CAN I HAVE BOTH?!?!

  • Japanese aspirator

  • the audi looks retarded and it got wooped by a girl....

  • STI vs QUATTRO 20V turbo

  • If it wasnt Audi there wouldnt be a evo 6 or a subaru

  • audi the best of!

  • @cagednm69 ... Show me a modern days rallye car which weights as less as the S1! When it comes to cornering ability and acceleration, a short wheelbase and as less weight as possible are important. Now show me a modern days rallye car which weights as mcuch as an S1 or a Delta S4, has 480-600hp and does 0-100 in 2.8 seconds.

  • @MrLowAltitude modern day rally cars have to follow stricter WRC restrictions which ensures safety and thus adds more weight to a powerful car. Also hp is irrelevant nowadays. An FQ400 with 400 horses is as good as a Murcielago with 600 horses. Now its all about technology. Also the S1 was faster on the straights but it took a whole lot of effort to take it around the twisties. Todays WRC tracks are more challenging full of twists and turns instead of straights.

  • @cagednm69 Sure it took a lot more effort to control it. It was even difficult to keep it straight on the track because the wheelbase was that short, for example. And because of the huuuge KKK-Turbo, they had to brake with the left foot and keep rpms high with the right foot during cornering. BUT: It was insanely fast, not only on straights! Until now, no front engine car (Despite their new technologies...)could beat the record Audi set in 1987 at the Pikes Peak hillclimb!

  • @cagednm69 Sure modern days technology is much better but it's also a fact that modern day rallye cars are much more restricted. Boost pressure is limited for example. The chassis was too weak? Only fast on straight? Sorry but that's really wrong! The chassis was a pure tube frame back then which isn't allowed today. The S1 STILL holds several track records which are untouched until today!

  • but that quattro is only a street one, you get a group B one in there and that evo will be left on the start line

  • @D3M0N1996 that evo is also a street one.. duh! and there is a rally evo 6 too

  • @cagednm69 Sure there is a rallye Evo 6... But the Sport Quattro S1 was one of the fastest rallye cars ever built. It still holds records on many races (Since 25 years!). Those Group B cars were beasts... I'm pretty sure that there's no rallye evo that can keep up with a Sport Quattro S1.

  • @MrLowAltitude Let's see. The Group B was fast during its prime. Which is back in the day was pretty fast for its kind.

Handling/susp and brakes have moved on a lot in 25years.

Also there were reports of Group B cars cheating using Nitrous oxide in Fire extinguishers and those extinguishers would change every stage.

Also the cars were too powerful for the chassis to handle back then and it was only fast on the straights. Im pretty sure a modern day rally car can put better Time

  • @cagednm69 that audi was a street one too..try to compare evo 6 rally to audi s1 ;)

  • @DummkopfRadar u didnt read carefully. i was replying to that guy's post which said the rally evo would beat this street evo

  • @cagednm69 ok..but thats no question..every rally model would beat the stock version..

  • LOL she said cunt 0:38

  • How could anyone take that Evo over an AUDI?? Hell I would take a FWD Audi over that other thing.

  • @keyofdavid888 I have an FWD Audi 80 with inline 5-cylinder Engine. I'ts not fast but it's a very good car, I love it. But I have to admit: An Evo would be fun too... If I had the money, I would buy an Audi Sport Quattro, an S2 and a RS2. The Evo would be just for fun because it doesn't matter if I crash it... :-P

  • @keyofdavid888 u probably havent driven one of em i assume

  • @cagednm69 I have driven the Audi. I have witnessed perfection. I have no other need.

  • @keyofdavid888 just what i expected! its like saying i have driven a Ferrari so i dont wanna see how a lamborghini is anymore

  • @cagednm69 For being over 20 years old...this Quattro is ONE HELL OF A BEAST to hold this kind of a match!

  • Shouldnt that bitch be on the kitchen?

  • the street legal EVO may be a bit quicker than the mighty quattro. but remember, it is much younger!

just compare the rally version of both... and you will see that the EVO will see nothing but the headlights from the quattro far far away!!!

  • @vwaudimanta Evo VI WRC would destroy an Audi group-c Quattro. Audi is only fast in a straight line and the last time i checked the weren't many of them in rallying.

  • ok evo win! Audi Tires are from 1983, Mitsubishi's from 1999! ;-)

  • Audi sport quattro is a greatest car.

  • Only one winner for me and its in red. Prefer Butler-Henderson though!

  • that evo is a such a fancy kitchen

  • Fake¡¡¡¡

  • don't forget, tiff nedell is a former race driver, and a very good one.....

  • Standard cars!!!!! the evo will win....because its well....new....and run by computers......but for fanfare and noise....i want a quattro.

  • wtf why is a german car in england a left hand drive?

  • @SealofApproval105 The Quattro Sport was a limited production run of 300 cars & all were left hand drive.

  • The Audi is the better car! A absoluty legend!

  • Tiff should have the gotten the 600hp quattro which was in the Group B rally. That

    would've been awesome.

  • From the looks of the comments here it seems like our world hasnt snapped out of the "Luxury sports cars with stupendous price tags are always better than a competitive sports car for the masses". The only reason one would buy a lambo is to show off his money power. Same goes for the BMW's MERC's and Audi's. What is funny is that the mass production cars from these "High class" brands are so badly ignored they come out and go in a blink of an eye Eg: Merc A class/ Audi A2 / etc

  • @cagednm69 From the looks of your comment you obviously have no knowledge of Group B cars.

  • @cagednm69 1.53,ohhh no,woman in car,no !

  • @cagednm69 Well, the A2 was a fail... Do you know why? Because it was ahead of the times... No one wanted to drive a car which was ugly but only uses 4-5 litres of diesel to 100km!

  • sport quattro was $300 grand brand new in 1983

  • FUCKING BEAST AUDI <3

  • audi was very good ... but the Evo runs like clockwork and rules

  • Tommi Makinen > Hannu Mikkola

  • @cagednm69 Walter Röhrl > all of them... :-P

  • Shud up bitch with your plastic Dinky toy !

    Audi rules 4 ever !

  • nippon-power !! :D

  • its a dream to drive the WRC audi quattro S1 from the 80s

  • the true history and car lover and driver knows what the audi is capable of.....the mitsubishi is good but will never beat the quality and value through time of the audi!HENRYHOBBS1,said all staged the evo would waste the audi!i say,all staged the audi will kick its bumper even if it is 30 years old, anyday!

  • I'd have the Audi any day over the faster evo,Audi is an awesome car

  • AUDI WHO CARES ABOUT THE EVO

  • Rigged.....the EVO will win.....because..its...well....modern....but i like the audi better.....no one will remember the EVO in 30 years.

  • @andgate2000>you are damn right!

  • @andgate2000 i dont know, a rigged audi s1 is pretty sick. true about the evo dying off haha

  • I could sell my sister for this audi in a blink of an eye...!!!she is healthy and she can carry a lot...!!!!!

  • Both awesome cars and I don't think I'd particularly complain if I had either :D

  • the audi is still better

  • was für ein Vergleich.... völlig sinnlos...

  • 3 Decades later,do you think people will still be remembering and collecting the EVO? Doubt it.

  • @MrSouthernman73 doubt it? hmmm if u register at evo forums/ lancer forums/ mitsubishi forums people are willing to sell their kidney to get the older evos to the States. And guys in Europe are demanding 8~13 grand euros to sell off their evos. For a performance sedan i think that price is pretty much outstanding for a 12 year old car

  • @cagednm69 The same goes for Sport Quattros...

  • @cagednm69 , come on, audi is better

  • Well. I do believe that the older Evos are becoming real classics but i really doubt that they will reach the status of the Audi Sport Quattro. Here in Switzerland, we have relatively many Sport Quattros and they ar sold for 120-150 grand euros!

  • @cagednm69 similar prices to the UR Quattro then, but thats no UR Quattro in the video its a Sport Quattro, one on ebay now £149,500. Cant see an Evo ever making that kind of money, even their FQ,s

  • @cagednm69 you should look at the price of a sport quattro then.... Only one for sale in the UK at the minute is around £150,000 the lancers are continuously depreciating!! I have an evo 5 and love it but in terms of being something special lancers will never reach the status of a sport quattro

  • @1982craigyboy when something from the past is termed "Rare" or "Limited Edition" people will pay you anything to buy it from you. My grandpas antique watch was sold for a whopping $8000. IT wasnt even worth $50 back then

  • @cagednm69 has nothing to do with being termed rare etc..... has something to do actual values. An evo is an off the shelf production car of no significance the sport quattro was a special build of only 219 units of which a few were written off by audi in race and development. I would recommend reading up on why the group b cars hold such values because there is much more to it than someone has termed them rare!! ha

  • @1982craigyboy I also seen that quattro sport on pistonheads for £150,000. It's a used example as well. I wonder how much a sport with hardly any miles would go for?

  • @1982craigyboy that is because audi was the creator of all of the awd sports cars that came after it.

  • @MrSouthernman73

    I would BOTH !

  • The Evo would waste a Sport Quattro!!! I love people that have no Motorsport experience, the sport was Iconic!!!! no electronic Diffs, no anti Lag electronics, no variable brake bias, no electronic aids and an ancient 4 wheel drive system, the Evo`s front disks are only an inch smaller than the Sport Quattros WHEELS, How good was the Sport Quattro in 1983? - Awesome, wow the EVO really has moved things on????????

  • Audi still kicks modern day rallycars ass.

  • love mitsu!!!!!

  • Negitive. The quattro was band from group b rally races becuz of the fact it shaved minute off times in races. A old quattro vs a new car both stock. I hope new wins. Make both cars same milage update the Audi and the lanser wouldn't keep up

  • @VcottntailW

er..... get your facts straight buddy, all Group B cars where banned from rally racing not just the quattro

  • @cagednm69 yeah eventually. but audi was first.

  • @VcottntailW the group b was banned, not the cars, after toivonnens crash in the lancia delta s4, which until that stage was the car that shaved whole minutes in every rally stage, audi backed down from group b, and then ford, and after them pegeot and the rest. audi saw that crowd management couldn't keep the people in the safe spots and decided not to risc peoples lifes.

  • @glady91 i can see that. those fans are crazy

  • @cagednm69 It was the Audi 200 which was banned from american races because it was "too fast"...

  • @VcottntailW umm negative again, group b itself was cancelled do to the danger of its speed and the number of spectators to close to the road, which led to many deaths

  • @nxmoparmatt84 i couldnt be one of those spectators back then.. i'd have to have the reaction time of a hockey player. haha

and true on your part my mistake.

  • Audi Quattro was never banned from competition, where do you get your infomation? Audi pulled out of rallying in 86 mainly due to the death of Henri Toivonen and crowd safety at events such as San Remo, but also they wanted to take the Quattro to the circuit with the 'Audi 90 Quattro IMSA'

  • all staged, the evo would waste that
