Hey there. This song is called "The Island" (English translation). The lyrics in English are completely different. You will find different artists singing "The Island" on you tube.

the name for this song in English is The Island and Patti Austin made it popular back in the late 70s

The best versions are Toots Thielemans, as well Jane Monheit's. There is no feeling in this woman's voice. Check out Jane's version. Absolutely haunting, with a great Tom Harrell solo at the end.

It's nice to hear a female version of this song (not Babs's whitewash!) but there's no passion like Lins' version!! His phrasing is perfectly wonderful for this song (well, he'd know; he wrote it after all - see the Record Plant version.)

Thalita, é uma excelente jovem cantora com apenas 17 anos, consagrada no programa Raul Gil com interpretações em inglês abusando do seu grave e potencia vocal, mas agora cantando Ivan Lins está perfeita mais suave ao mesmo tempo forte. Muito bonito a apresentação em si e a Thalita está muito linda mesma, tem postura de palco de Diva.
