Was this just after the last program? It looked like the program finished the credits and then pasted over the open...or after headlines?

That's just B-roll... I'm thinking KDKA was into putting their logo over footage of the one of the big stories of the day; say the anchors finish the tease, but the B-roll continues, then they super the logo for 4 seconds, and then the open.
