  • Would you have done something differently career wise if you read this book while you were learning, or before you went to school for it?

  • Hi everyone! Do you know any place I can buy this book other that stan king's website? I'm in the Philippines. Thanks!

  • @bangstn i bought mine with paypal doesnt paypal work in Philippines?

  • @jgordoful yes it works.. looks like i might as well get this with through paypal. Was wondering if there are shops or bookstores that sells this. Thanks!

  • @zootechdrum so you "raced" a few paragraphs and you automatically knew the whole book? I guess you meant you read a few paragraphs? I thought the book was a really good read for me because I didn't know anything about working on airplanes. It's not the best book out there if you're looking for a novel but this ain't a novel! If you want to read a stephen king book then go buy a stephen king book.

  • @zootechdrum lol you mad bro??

  • Got my A&P a few months ago but i don't remember my instructors recommending that book. It was more Jepperson or Dale Crane.

  • @helljumpr5150 I'm in NC and several of my instructors mentioned this book that's how I found out about it. I was surprised to see a review of it on here I didn't know it was that well known outside of A&P mechs Also Crane and those guys I think everyone has to read those books but that is more for studying for A&P. This book is more for how to get in the career but he also tells you how to get an A&P and I do wish I could have read this book before going to college

  • I got the book four days ago it was very different from what I was expecting...I'm used to seeing so much stuff online that is just complete shit, but this one has actually taught me a lot. I can see why it has such a high rating. I think I will like making $55,000 a year! Thanks for the review I probably would have never found out about it knowing my luck...

  • You should see what you can make changing tires on Buses. Posted by a former aircraft mechanic.

  • just depends on if you believe that AVIATION MAINTENANCE is awesome it is what we do,just remember to work on an aircraft is to know that your mom or anybody else will be in the air and you cant stop on a cloud.25 yrs exp IA

  • @AirplaneGuy , where can I purchase this book?

  • @pspman622 You can purchase the book on Stan King's website. Just search for the aircraft mechanic stan king on google.

  • Do aircraft mechanics really make $2,000 a week??? Seems like they would, but is that really true?

  • @ImNotAMormon You probably could if you had some nice overtime but thats definitely not standard

  • @ImNotAMormon Yes you can make that much money. Some aircraft mechanics are making even more than that, but most of those mechanics are working really high-paying contracts. Most mechanics I know, including myself, are making around $1,500 a week.

  • any job that requires working with mechanics, tools, grease or any other chemicals is dangerous...

  • I'm a tad skeptical about this book and what it's purpose is....

  • @xWiggleDeezRoots I agree, it's not for sale anywhere but on his website. I looked at the website, and it kind of has this "get rich quick" feel to it, implying that you don't need to pay a school or college to get your licensing. This video is the only review I can find on it. I would've thought there would be more references to it somewhere if it was legitimate.

  • @rsmoove2000 This is a good book it has nothing to do with "getting rich quick" The book is for people that want to find out what it's like working as an aircraft mechanic. I bought it because of this review but I remember seeing a whole article about it in Aviation Week if thats not legit I dont no what is. There's a reason this vid has so many views and stan king is known for his work

  • @corymorrison82 Oh, ok. That's cool. I was wanting to see a review from an independent source and was wondering why the book wasn't more widespread. But, I guess the aviation maintenance community isn't the largest in the world. So, I guess I'll give the idea of purchasing it some more thought. Lord knows I've dumped 30 dollars into less useful things.

  • @rsmoove2000 I'm an A&P Instructor for the aviation program at GTCC in North Carolina. Two years ago I had The Aircraft Mechanic approved for part of my aviation course. Now, this book is split into two sections. The first half of the book discusses Stan King's career and is good to introduce those interested in the career to some of the more gritty details of working for aircraft repair stations.

  • @rsmoove2000 The second half of the book is where the really great information is. He really digs down deep into the small details of the career. He discusses the dangers of the career, the positives and negatives, the A&P License, the pay, the different careers available, etc. I had this book approved because I think it's important for my students to learn more than just the technical details of working on aircraft. I didn't have this resource until this book was printed.

  • where can i find the book? I can't find it on google

  • I begin my A&P school soon on oct 10th any tips 4 me ?

  • @bigdpimp1 Yes my tip to you is read The Aircraft Mechanic...you might regret not reading it before going to school to get your A&P license. Good luck

  • @AirplaneGuyShawn Interesting question for you; I'm currently an automotive mechanic, but I'm interested in becoming an aircraft mechanic. Would you happen to know if the two might have any similarities? Anything that I might relate to the automotive world?

  • @Orangys280Z I'm also an auto mech and I'm also interested in becoming an a/c mechanic. I have a friend that told me to check out this book, that's why Im watching this vid. He's in school to get his a&p license out in Texas. I think the careers are pretty much the same, but I'd also like some more info. My friend told me that this book talks about the similarities between a/c mechs and auto mechs and the careers.

  • @Orangys280Z I know a lot of aircraft mechanics that started out working as automotive mechanics. The two careers definitely have many similarities, but they are also very different. In my opinion, aircraft maintenance can be much more technical. I've never worked as an auto mechanic professionally but I do a lot of maintenance on automobiles and motorcycles. If you work on autos you would definitely be comfortable as an aircraft mechanic AFTER you have learned and been in the career awhile.

  • @bigdpimp1 A&P schools only teach yu the basics. School really starts at yur first day of the job. dont think coz yu are an a&p mechanic yu know it all. the only tip yu need is "if yu not sure, dont do it and get help" a lot of senior mechanics out there are willing to help just dont be shy to ask.

to the uploader of the video: it really looks like a good book. i wish i read it 3 years ago. but hey, if we gnaa keep scaring rookies we'll never get seniorty ;-)

  • I have this book!! I think the stuff he talks about is scary to!
