@rch9000 Yeah, but he also became something of an egomaniac during the early to mid 90s and then a recluse. I sometimes think he might have been better off if he'd taken a drink now and then. He was far too tightly wound during the height of their fame, which resulted in skipped/missed shows, diva behavior, escapes into alternative medicine and past life regressions. I mean, this is a guy who beat the living shit out of every woman he's ever been with and took over 10 yrs to produce an album

@ritter89, that's what continues to make him interesting. The ingredients to Axl that took him to the top also brought him down. Remember too that, at the height of their fame, he was probably the biggest rock star on the planet - everyone knew who Axl Rose was. Anyone in that position would be tightly wound (some literally don't even survive it). Whatever his faults, he's smarter than people realize.

duff didnt use heroin he was more into cocaine and alcohol izzy and slash did heroin and they both went off it cold turkey without rehab - slash and duff then both turned heavily onto alcohol during the touring of the UYI tour.
Steven did try rehab a whole bunch of times, and tried the opiate blockers that can help you get off herion etc basically what you said was waaaaaaay of.
