@tenn5Z i saw tha, darkest hour. and boo live. THA was SPOT on. like in studio could not have been much better than they played. Ugh. was best birthday ive ever had. was in POrtland. FUcking love the human abstract. we all know their new singer is just a fill in till they find some1 worthy . but we shall wait. and see. we shall wait. ....*inputs* aj* guitar solo for finesse
i dont get this album. i cant like it. kuz it makes no sense to me. its good dont get me wrong, the vocals are great, the guitar and drums are amazing, but it doesnt go together. any of it. nothing about this cd makes any sense to me.
this album isn't bad, just not as good as nocturne in my opinion. i don't hear aj's mind in this and that's what i liked about nocturne. there's such a big difference.
i hope their next album dosnt suck as bad as this joke of a album..........okay okay, its not that bad,but nowhere near as good as their first album thats ferr suree
@123orangejuice123 Ahh dude I know! I was pretty obsessed with Nocturne..then they came out with this, and it sounds like a completely different band ><
Quite tired of the all the core kids disliking Midheaven. I still love this album more than Nocturne. Musically, Nocturne is indeed better, but the artistic nature of Midheaven just puts it over imo.
Quite annoying to see so many people dislike it for.... well, for the fact that the song writing improved and there is less arpegios now,
i know right? I'm sick of these grindcore fag's pumping their fists around like merry-go-rounds to 100% triplekicking blast beating arpeggiated grind crap ^ ^ Human Abstract is actually talented, let's not have them ruin that.
Well. This sounds good to me. The only "engineer" I'm going to take seriously is one who builds bridges. If you think your arts degree turns your opinions into facts, then you're mistaken.
You sure about that? He's probably just writing, not performing if he is. but if that's so the new guy can actually play what AJ writes, he's just not so hot at writing his own stuff.
No no, I believe you, I just wanted to know the authenticity and to what extent he would be helping them. Like, is he going to be part of the band again? or is he just going to write some of the riffs and/or solos or what?
I talked to dean at a show back in may before they started writing the new album. He said they are going to co-write with AJ for it but he won't be performing. He wants to do classical or something now. IIRC their myspace said they were working on another instrumental with AJ about a month or so ago too.
thats true though I have heard that too...not from their drummer of course but I heard he had a bunch of stuff written that he was going to let them use on the new record.
this song is intresting and really good lol the picture is fun lol i like it hahaha good i cant stop laughing because of the picture lol hahhaha so funny
I have a really weird insight on this songs lyrics. I image something like a knowledgeable, well doing person confronting a hero. Sort of telling the hero that he's a prophet or a chosen one. Then later on in the song (when the singers voice gets a bit more intense) the hero stumbles upon the evil he's been chosen to destroy; and its that same knowledgeable person, and the story unfolds.
Might I add that my whole theory is all dialogue from the knowledgeable person. In the first part of the song he's encouraging the hero to do what he's destined to do. Then later on when the hero comes face to face with the person again, the person unveils himself as the bad guy, and is mocking the hero.
I love how, PTH is like Punk Prog, BTBAM are more like Metal Prog and these guys are Neoclassical Prog, with all three bands making music, there is something for every taste or feeling. That being said which is better?Nocturnal or Midheaven?
i only have the nocturnal album but after listening to a few midheaven songs id pick nocutnral for the better album, but id chose any BTBAM cd over them anyday
I understand why people prefer BTBAM but I just can't get into them. I dunno, it's less typical, but also less catchy, imo. Course I'm basing that off of Nocturne, which had more catchy stuff than Midheaven did.
@OutsmarttheSystem Nocturne IMO, but honestly, aside from some vocal parts that I don't LOVE, Midheaven is a hell of a good album and I'll never understand why so many people hate it. How many people would love Nocturne as much if THA had made a complete Nocturne clone for a second album I wonder??
@OutsmarttheSystem Are you fucking kidding? Midheaven is pure shit on a disc. The rest of the band can't write for shit, A.J. writes literally everything except lyrics.
@OutsmarttheSystem I think I'd have to go with Nocturne. It's a little less repetitive, the vocals were a little more impressive. I also REALLY loved the lead guitar on Nocturne, which was absent here. I do really like this album, but I LOVE Nocturne.
fuck i love this band i only discoverd them 2weeks ago how long have they been around i mean there guitaring is insane singing also there rpob my fav band now and were are they from ??
these guys really fucked them self i mean why change your music when so many people love it.and most of the fans theses guys have are because of there first stuff. its to bad that bands change like THA and trivium and atreyu. its fucked up!
Oh my gosh, totally!!! The Curse was and probably is the best concept album out and then...lead sails and a paper anchor was a total flop. I mean what was THAT!! did you hear their untitled bonus track? Pure rubbish. Ahh well, im just hoping that they will come to their senses and make something new
some stuff on this album is cool. but the vocalist is really makin it too 'alternative rock'. and you can tell he thinks he's like such a great singer. or else he wouldn't be tryin to pull half of the crap that he's doin on this album. like this song and some other soft singing.
Yeah, definitely too much focus on the voice on this album. They need to get back to the point where each member had their own focus whether at the same time or separately.
They've definately changed. But I don't think they've gotten any worse. Nathan has definately improved his singing. I remember there was one note in Nocturne that just makes me cringe cuz he's so flat on it. lol. I like the three songs on myspace the most though. they have an erie feeling to this album. It reminds me of...Midheaven. lol. I think tey named this album perfectly based of what the songs are and their sound. I give it a 5/5 definately.
i dont know if anyone else besides me remembers the quote in one of THA blogs on myspace saying something about how AJ left and if he stayed the sound wouldnt be true to the original fans....well, thats bullshit for one, and for two, im sure AJ left because they were tryina gay it up. nathan seems like a cool ass dude and all, but im afraid he's getting the band mixed up with the shit he does on the side. if the two shall be mixed, at least make up for it with guitar. cant we get that at least?
