  • 3:55 is the scene

  • heeyyyy i know this show...

  • I would've watched this in the early 2000s for sure. Now, it seems somewhat redundant with Kim Possible having run its course, but still seems cool. I definitely feel the Cowboy Bebop vibe as well.

  • @TKozlows IKR

  • D: This would have been awesome to watch...

  • This... this makes me sad. :-( This didn't get to air? :-(

    Would've been great.

  • sooo.... they axed it because of a 30 second clip in the pilot? Yet we have movies featuring terrorists and criminals with hostages and nuclear bombs? o.O Wow. Just wow.

  • O.O This girl voices Sari Sumdac too ? sounds similar

  • Wow, steampunky, 70's action show with a touch of batman sarcasm. this not making it in to TV just makes me sad...

  • A LOT of shows like this get a pilot like this but are never picked up. Adventure Time pilot almost had the same fate until Cartoon Network decided to pick it up.

  • This show along with Avatar would have rules Nickelodeon!

  • Steampunk anime? badass

  • Actually --- you guys got it wrong why both these series were canceled. I did some deeper research into what actually happened and it turns out that the animators were being treated REALLY badly by Nick. A large number of them decided to unionize and Nick fired them for unionizing and canceled the projects they were working on. That included Constant Payne, Invader Zim and a few other series that didn't get pilots. Using the "911 scare" stuff was just a convenient excuse.

  • vaguely reminds me of Cowboy Bebop

  • this show would have flopped anyway.

  • 6:50 bets evil line ever

  • a typical morning of going to school.

  • That girl looks like Kitty Pryde from X-Men evolution.

    TOTALLY the same head design.

  • wow this came out around the same time as sponge bob and fairly odd parents. they are still around today. wow. knowing it would of been the first anime styled american cartoon makes it even more bogus. 9/11 is a terrible thing and all but it makes no sense not to air a show because of two buildings. this is one episode not the whole series. remove that scene and its all good. am i right? its not like it would of been in every episode. that is bull shit.

  • @supercaraged oh so batman animated wasnt animated?

  • No 13 year old should be dressed that way lol

  • Wait- her dad almost died and she's concerned about being late?

  • This show looks sick! :(

  • Cowboy Bebop for kids. What's not to like?

  • yea this wouldve been one to watch.

  • very steam-punk esque rofl

  • Well here is what they can do: Re work the pilot, try pitching it again. It should not suffer because of something like this. It deserves a second chance, then we would see if it would stand up on its own.

  • Was that hugo strange?

  • opening theme sounds like secret saturdays

  • I understand the description says it didn't air because of 9-11, but it seems it would've been so easy just to edit out 3:55 to 4:13. It wouldn't have hurt the continuity of the story. Kept off the air because of 18 little seconds? What a shame.

  • That opening man. So much like BeBop.

  • I seriously would like it if they tried to re-air this show again

  • This looks like The Boondocks.

  • what's amazing is that despite being an American creation, it was animated in conjunction with Korea and Japan's Madhouse studios.

  • Obviously it wasn't canned because of 9/11.

It was canned because of the Hindenburg Explosion.

  • I like this, i like it a lot.

  • This overlaps with Spy Girls a lot I feel.

  • not bad but kinda corny

  • the usa is full of idiots who like to be offended at any chance they can get.

  • If they could some how revive this series. In another universe, cartoons in America would be at least this quality instead of the crap on today like Adventure time and every other piece of crap

  • Yeah sluty school girls on Nick

  • This has pretty good artwork considering it was a cartoon

  • Damn, this show would've been awesome.

  • Should we petition to get this a full time series?

  • I think pulling the show completely was a bit of an overreaction, they could have just edited the buildings...After all, there have been plenty of alterations to other media with more direct references, such as cutting the scene of a web between the twin towers that was shown in the trailer of the first Spider-Man movie, it wasn't necessary to pull those works completely just because they had the towers in them.

  • @Melissails in this day of age. everyone overreacts to every bad thing

  • @RiorXD That is a very good point. They do have Fairly Odd Parents every now and then, other than that you right. Sponge Bob or live shows like iCarly and Victorious which I don't mind.

  • "Leaving my underage daughter alone in a flying vehicle to fight crime is a good idea." Ayup.

  • Is just me or would you have watched this all the time? They missed out on some good views.

  • thats so cool! i'd watch it

  • reminds me of big O, secret saturdays, and cow boy behop

  • I'm already a fan. They should try and bring this show back to Nick because most of the new shows freaking suck. I miss classic Nick.

  • @SaphireMonkey1992 what do you mean most of the new shows. like 12 hours of the day its all spongebob. lol

  • It looks like the Boondocks team animated it. Interesting!

  • @IWillCureYouAll I have seen that episode of Cow boy Bebop though. It was on Adult Swim.

  • I'd watch it

  • Did anyone say clishé?

  • So who cares if it does or doesn't have a reference to 9/11 I still think its a good show

  • Comment removed

  • Pretty sure the episode of Cowboy Bebop "Cowboy Funk" was censored/banned/whatever after 9/11. It didn't feature any planes, and didn't have two towers destroyed, but it DID feature the "Teddy Bomber" (himself based on Ted Kazinski aka the Unabomber), blowing up a connecting bridge between two identical towers. If they were willing to censor something as vaguely similar to 9/11 as that, then yeah, they could pull this too. Pity.

  • oh hey check out my new video

  • yeah it would've

  • this would have been so awesome

  • its just dumb, most probably very few people whould have see any ressemblance with the towers, plus if it was such a big deal they could have edited that part, but i guess 9/11 was that big at the time

  • Where did you get this?

  • time to say "fuck the censorship"

  • they used something like that in batman of the future/batman beyond. WAS THAT A 9/11 REFERENCE NICK!

  • damnit nickelodeon!

  • it looks less like two towers and one of those dual towers that branch off at the top. this would have been an amazing show to grow up with...

  • @edfreak9001

You mean Taipei Tower. Looks more like that than the Twin Towers...but it would have been awesome, yes. Oh well, there's always...um..at least we have...uh...Damn.

  • I'm surprised they passed on this. I think it would have been a good show.

  • I think they passed on it because of all the cliched writing. "First name, middle name, last name, haven't I told you before about interrupting me when I'm working?!" "Good help is so hard to find." "Oh, no! I'm late for school!" Not to mention the grating valley girl accent of the lead. They passed on this and made Avatar the Last Airbender. Great trade-off, far as I'm concerned.

  • @simdae1 Really? Trolololo

  • I WANT THIS BACK I WANT THIS FOR MY CHILDHOOD :(

  • 9/11? That's some hyper-sensitve reasoning to not air this show. Amazed you're even allowed to say skyscraper anymore... shame, this is a cool show, compared to most mind-numbing bogus crap that spills out of America onto televisions world-wide.

  • @Rihia2k Same thing hap end to Invader Zim, except he was going to blow of the Statue of Liberty.

  • this would of made my childhood a little better

  • Lol constant pane? ha ha ha funny name,

  • Tony. Looks. Like Ty. From Digimon. O.O

  • Micah Wright?!

Woah, that's like Phoenix Wright. And in Phoenix Wright there is a character named Payne O.O

  • Dammit, this was hilarious!

  • Looks nothing like the twin towers. It looks more like the Petronis(?) twin towers. Seems to be a nice show, too bad it never made it.

  • the same drawing as avatar the last airbender

  • wtf how did this not make it?

  • Why would they try to hijack a crate if all they needed to do is just grab a vial out of it?

  • I like the quirky steam punk aspect.

  • 08:53 Digimon ????

  • Intro reminds me of Cowboy Bepop.

  • I see WAY more similarities to Secret Saturdays.

  • sexy

  • Also some similaritirs to kim possible

  • the girl is actually really good actor, which is pretty rare for a lot of kids cartoons it seems.

  • Phil Lesh on bass in the theme

  • How do people get these pilots that never air

  • @TURB0THUNDER Simply put, it's simple. Lolz. They send these episodes, movies and other materials to places like Blockbuster, Reviewers for Newspapers and websites, etc, hoping for some free promotions. The discs that contain them have "not for resale" written across of them. I have a few of these thanks to my Mother-in-law winning some storage auctions. Nothing too spectacular in there, but it's kind of nice to have a version that's rare.

  • @shinyguru Indeed the next thing you'll see is Edward prancing about in the background.

  • Hints of cowboy bebop in here I find.

  • Fuck man... this was pretty damn awesome.

  • IT did air i saw the pilot on tv

  • this was an ok show

  • I tought, it's related to Max Payne. So close...

  • So ... WHO is the focus of this show? I would guess the main character is the girl, but her father is clearly the hero. It's like reverse Inspector Gadget.

  • I would have watched it. And this seems like it would have been a great show for those born in the 2000's to look back at and say "Remember that show growing up?"

  • ...I would hardly find a blimp side swiping to buildings a reference to 9/11.

  • @Hellfire918 Oh plz, after 9/11 they cancelled the Pokemon episode which had a giant ass Tentacruel in it. And all it did was slam its tentacles into some skyscrapers, saying that a giant jellyfish attacking buildings was a 9/11 ref

  • wow this is weird, it reminds me of the game "Crimson skies" even thou its all futuristic people ride around in blimps ROFL

  • I guess 13 henchmen died. However, my verdict is this show had (still has) great potential, if the writers could pay attention to some niggles and details. Even kids would wonder about the unconscious henchmen in the exploding dirigible, the auto pilot being completely fail (a scientist curing world hunger wouldn't have made such a short-sighted judgement), or the girl fighting on the front of a moving airborne vehicle sans-safety gear.

  • @eleithias ...niggles...i know you you didnt intend it but i lol'd hard at how borderline racist that is

  • No, don't rescue the dude who just about fell to his death and is now precariously perched on top of a flying machine. Go investigate the hijacker first.

  • na its near the middle of it

  • This doesn't seem bad, and I liked the very end. I don't like the name though. Says the wrong thing about the show and its corny. I think it might have worked.

  • Why do the good die young?

  • this actually looks pretty damn good. well for what they had and it being an old show and whatnot

hell i would have watched it

  • Nice and Steampunky ^^ Now, if only Nick wasn't controlled by retards... Oh well

  • There were some good animation sequences, and while it was cheesy at times, I could see this being good with a budget behind it.

  • It really bugs me that this never made it but THEN they went for Kappa Mikey, when this looks a thousand times better and is far more entertaining... This is actual animation, not stock poses of a character only drawn a certain amount of times. They also did a really nice job of making it look like actual anime, so I hate that this never aired. It would seem that they're only going for crap on tv these days, anyway...

  • Go to micah wrights description of constant payne and click on sign my guestbook. It will help the shos. First link on google when you search on constant payne

  • why does the theme kinda remind me of Cowboy Bebop?

  • @Hectorson3 I think its the quickly firing beats in the song.

  • @Hectorson3 the opening segment is very similar too. but thats kinda nuts..

  • AZUUULAAAA =O!!!!m

  • Daughters hot. Just sayin

  • This was awsome, why couldn't htis have been a Tv series, it would have been a hit.

  • I bet Phil and Kaja Foglio would like this.

  • why does this remind me of Bioshock Infinite?

  • @linux750 Why? Because of the blimps?

  • Also, anyone else kinda reminded of Tom Strong?

  • so they didn't air it because of two fucking skyscrapers? This is so much bullshit....

  • In what country is FOURTEEN old enough to drive?

And yes, investigation is fine but what about the guy that fell off the blimp?

  • @d2000X In the semi-future where this takes place?

  • They could have easily just edited out the two identical-looking skyscrapers and released the pilot anyways.

  • The two "Identical" looking towers remind me of that bank in HongKong... What the fuck do Chinese Bankers have to do with 9/11? I see no reason that this shouldn't have been aired...

  • Like if your over sixteen and you'd still watch this

  • @drifterguy4 dude, i'm 19 and would gladly watch this.

  • I like the art work

  • Pussy-ass USA. Can buildings never blow up any more because of 911?

  • @nljuggalo It was a sensitive issue at the time, and having an airship smack into a pair of twin towers was considered to be a little too 'on the nose.'

That being said, it was a lot of worrying for nothing, and it's bullshit that they let what looked to be a fairly promising animated series die for it.

  • I can see why this wouldn't have been released when it was originally up for grabs. The timing was poor and 9/11 sensitivities were still high. I'm not about to say that that day was any less tragic, but the reference, if indeed there WAS one, was so subtle I had to strain myself to find it while knowing it was there.

I believe this would do well if revisited. I'd like to see one of the major networks try taking another look at it.

  • 12 years ago and the animation is still smoother than the cartoons today.

  • Definitely inspired by Cowboy Bebop.

  • @MrMetalBurrito Bang

  • FUCKING TERRORIST RUINED MY CHILDHOOD AGAIN

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh Your country did actually.

  • @ProjectXA3 yeah that would be another option. it would do well on CN or hub.

  • I wonder what the note her dad wrote must have said

  • this sooo totally should have aired it was cool

  • this looks like it would have been a really good cartoon its well storied and animated great for anime based cartoon its really great i would of loved to see episode 2

  • I wish my trip to school was like this

  • So nickelodeon has a history of not releasing awesome cartoon shows... Shame would have loved to watch this. Any one notice that the guy at the end looks like the kid from digimon?

  • its not like those supposed towers were damaged badly in the show or anything just some broken windows.....could have been a really good show from the looks of it

  • @loverofmonstergirls Hell yeah! And they used to use that kind of between-the-buildings movement in a lot of sky-race-chase-scene episodes of shows; it was one of those "TVtropes" before there was a name for them!

  • Back when nickelodeon actually had cartoons

  • this seemed pretty awsome. i would hope Nick kept a hold of the pilot because it would be a shame to let this die out for having something that would people of 9/11.

  • @Darthwin1 I say we contact the creator and tell him to give it another shot with CN or Hub or some other channel that still appreciates cartoons rather than hokey sitcom-for-kids craps that have another schmaltsy "special" every three weeks.

  • @ProjectXA3 amen but I think Nick has the rights for this

I wonder what the guy that makes this is doing right now

  • @ProjectXA3 cartoon network doesn't really care about good cartoons anymore either

so hub would be a better option

  • @angelgirl5 Boomerang :3

  • Let Nick start on this thing again and air it because 1. there have been a few current shows that had 9/11 references(sorry if I offend people when I say this) and nobody gave a fuck about it(or other words didnt mind it) 2 It would help the ratio of cartoons in nick cause there are hardly any good cartoons on nick anymore and 3 even if this cartoon is barely good,I can assure you that it will increase nicks ratings even if it will be only 10% of the ratings, thumbs up if you agree

  • @circusmonster123 wich shows had 9/11 references?

  • @EBILGAMER There are a few but I'll point out two cartoons cause I find these two easy to remember. One cartoon that had a 9/11 reference was called The Secret Saturdays,i think i got the title right, and they had a similiar situation like this show, driving a huge blimp that almost crashed into skyscrapers, and the cartoon South Park, one episode had alot of references like one scene where all these terrorists were killing jersey people by crashing into them with planes.

  • @circusmonster123 thanks

  • Love the dialog.

  • 1:36 NOT HIS BATING ARM!!!

  • Anyone else think The Boondocks people animated this

  • this show kicks ass i rather see this then the new tmnt cartoon

  • Comment removed

  • 9/11 was a decade ago - let's put this show on the air now. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @EnvisionerWill Fuck you. Just because it was 10 years ago doesn't mean thousands of people didn't lose their lives you fucking insensitive ass

  • @dragon345543 There is no need to cuss out someone for voicing an opinion. And I doubt this person was trying to communicate 9/11 meant nothing. Oversensitivity can be just as problematic as insensitivity

  • @dragon345543 Thousands of people die EVERY day. The USA invaded Iraq and murdered HUNDREDS of thousands of people who were just trying to defend their homes. People starve by the hundreds in every country in Africa; Syria is in a state of open war for no reason; people die in earthquakes in Haiti and hurricanes in New Orleans. 9/11 was NOTHING SPECIAL. Just another day at the races. We Americans are spoiled whiny fucks and the rest of the Earth has no sympathy for us.
