There should also be an understanding that the opposing questions on Malcolm X many times were to get him fired up. Hed had such a mature and inteligent way of countering those traps; and with that, I respect him very much. Also, whoever has not read the Autobiography of Malcom X...as a white man, that may have been one of the most important books that I have ever read so everyone should read it to get a first person perspective of his life.

I'm not even black or white, but it's very sad and disappointing to see that men like Malcolm aren't idealized by the majority of the black population, especially in the young. Whereas, most of mainstreams ignorant rappers are put on a pedestal and imitated. And what does this create? ...A cycle that perpetuates ignorance amongst the blacks?

I'm a white man and I find Malcolm X quite compelling and happen to agree almost completely with the ideas he is advocating. I believe in the uniqueness of every individual and stand up for their human rights since an attack on one man's (or woman's) rights is an attack on all people's rights.

But slavery is a black mark on the nations past and a gross violation of the principles of it's founding.. I do not suggest anyone should "get over it".. it must be remembered so we can make sure it never happens again. Nor do I assume it can be ignored, but what that means going forward... @mvanvoor I have no illusions that no oppression goes on today... certainly today's gun control policies stink strongly of racism, as does the U.S. court/prison system, drug laws, so called "inner-city" which is pseudo-slavery, welfare systems designed to create generational dependence.... No sir, I am not ignorant of today's bigotry. One change that we see is that this no longer targets -just- those who happen to be black, but all that would seek fairness from the elite establishment.
