  • That's the point of the thing, not to know!

  • This one just isn't as catchy as the original......

  • With the exception of those box-questioning excuses for back-up singers I love this cover.

  • This sucks

  • like the opening to the wall...

  • No me gusta...

  • The original was better... This one is just... kinda bleh...

  • i like this one better than the original

  • 7:22 - 7:50 sounds a lot like Pink Floyd

  • Awesome

  • Too long.

  • There's something here that 121 people just don't grasp...

  • 6:54 CHILLS O_O

  • I love this sooo much >w<

  • I have to admit, I don't see why everyone hates this version of the song. I think it shows Jack's new fascination (as well as the growing interest for the people of Halloween Town) and his frustration with the citizens not understanding the wonders of Christmas Town.

  • It is Nightmare meets the Wall

  • This is very powerfull and good. Excellent version.

Vote this up to weed out all the negative people.

  • @pdan4 - I agree. Reminds me of some of there ones done like speeches to crowds. I quite like this version tbh, it does express just how confused the people are and how Jack is trying so hard to persuade them, but speaking to all of them.

  • lets see seeing as we were lucky to get this at all. giving disney hate of things being redone. i think the people who are pretending to know things about music, AKA hipsters, should probably just be grateful this ever even got made.

  • This remotely sounds like Pink Floyd.

  • I like it, its like the confusion of the townspeople with the frustration of Jack All slowed down to really hear their emotions.

  • I think this song captures the mood quite well. This seems to be more from Jack's perspective. No matter what he does to try and explain, how softly he explains it, how fondly he still explains, they continue to ask why and how. He even gets a little frustrated.

  • The artist just doesn't expresses the right feeling in this song

  • Never liked this version of the song.... They needed a better artist for this cover :/

  • This is interesting. It reminds me almost of Placebo. I think I like this quite a bit.

  • despite the theatrical voices and the overdone emotions at times I really like it tbh. It's not nearly as horrible as you make it out to be.

  • you see kids, this is why you shouldn't do drugs

  • I dont like the guys voice, and its too slow

  • I dont understand the hate towards this cover. Is an absolute piece of art! I do agree it could be a little faster, but I think its all to build expectative for 7:20

But how can one listen to all the emotion, the beautiful instrumentals, the vocals and say that this is terrible? Its one of the most feeling filled tunes I've ever heard

  • This beats Flyleafs version? Looks like some people still rock poor taste. XD

  • i liked it but ireminds me of arcade fire kinda

  • sounds like pink floyd!?!

  • im sorry but 9 mins for this song is way too long, I think it would have sounded way better if they didnt drag it out

  • lol the girls singing remind me of the kids singing in Nearly Witches by Panic! At the Disco

  • They weren't horrible, but I feel that this wasn't the best song for them to cover. I think it would've been better if they did Jack's Obsession instead.

  • Does anyone else think that this sounds like hotel California?

  • @charlieemk1 YES !

  • is it just me or does the way this band sings kind of make u think of pink floyd

  • @drakseththephsyco It made me think a lot of pink floyd. in a good way

  • @drakseththephsyco me too.

  • oh sorry, wrong song...

  • I posted free poop in a bag on youtube.

  • the actual music is amazing, but it doesn't fit the lyrics.....

  • Huh... I suppose it's okay, but I feel that... I don't know, I would definitely prefer the original over this. =/. I just feel like this is too.... slow. It's OK, though. If I had all of Nightmare Revisited on my iPod, I wouldn't be like "Urgh. This song. SKIP" when this came on. -shrug-

  • Broaden your horizons people! Songs like these are a rarity these days. Everything is about hooks and catchy lyrics now rather than art. =/

  • This shocked me deeply when I first listened to it. But yes, it still beats Flyleaf's version of What's This.

  • sucks

  • Oh god that singer's voice is awful. I tried to give this as much of a chance as all the other but... It sounds like Comfortably Numb all wrong. With a horrendous vocalist. wtf.

  • Is it filled with a pox?

    A pox? How delightful a pox. :D

  • slow to start if you ask me

  • very "Rocky Horror Picture Show" meets Pink Floyd.

  • When i hear this- I can't help but think: Pink Floyd, David Bowie & Rocky Horror Picture Show.

  • I still prefer the original's energy and stuff, but I can't deny that this is nice to listen to. Like kartinitso said, it kind of reminds me of Rocky Horror Picture Show. xD

  • haha no one knows who they are hahaha O.O if they did they would know Polphonic Spree's awesomeness =p

  • @TheStrangebabe polyphonic spree is great, but it is a bit slow to start, not saying i don't like it mind you, so don't think i'm saying that please

  • No way Like The night mare before chirstmas song

  • I'm sorry, but the version in the movie is a thousand times better.

  • This was always a great song!

  • Copied they re style on pink floyd, it's kinda obvious. but not bad anyway.

  • I ♥ *disturbingly hopeful* "Does it still have a foot?" 4:32

  • 6:32 for teh epicness

  • I'm sorry, I hate Flyleaf. They have a terrible sound.

  • @PrincessJinx100

if u listen to more of there songs there much more upbeat.i had never heard them sound so depressed. im a huge fan of flyleaf, but when i heard there cover i was pretty disappointed. they should have played pore jack instead because its more depressed and sad. just saying thats just my opinion.

  • @PrincessJinx100 This isn't flyleaf...

  • i love how it sound at 5:17

  • Comment removed

  • What happened to Marylin Manson's "This Is Halloween"?

  • o.O it's too.... slow. not at all right for the song.

  • o.O

  • @flare2arrow Well, everyone has different tastes

  • O_o well then Pink Floyd lives on?

  • Holy hell, it Does sound like Pink Floyd...0.o

  • this whole Nightmare Before Christmas album is amazing! Great music, really talented nicely written music that i now love. its so dark and mysteriousss, :D.

    BTW LOVE THIS SONG.

  • I have to say Poly had the biggest of the song. Even my personal bias of being a huge Poly fan. I think it captures the moment but not as amazing of the original version.

  • waht's up with the Grand Opening

  • And they call him Sandy Claws.

    BOOOOOOOM!

    Blew me away...

  • I laugh every time at

"Oh yes!.....Does it still have a foot! :D"

  • @zerobeast22 Let me see! Let me look!

Sorry, I just had to. I'm probably wrong and it's the 'covered in gook', but I just typed what first came into my mind XD

  • @NeonGreenFairyJedi No thats right its let me look the gook part comes after that xD

  • @Wizard101def You're one of the 97 Oogie Boogies then?

  • Kind of sounds like a dark pink floyd.

  • On it's own, the song is good, but as a remake of the Town Meeting Song... I think it fell short, badly. It really didn't capture the feelings of the original, not Jack's passion or the townspeople's confused eagerness.

  • @MsMysteriousStranger This isn't a remake...It's the original song,Disney just changed it to be less..."scary"

and the "Nightmare Revisited" is the soundtrack album for Nightmare Before Christmas

  • @BlackHero22 I'm afraid I must correct you. "Town Meeting Song" is not originally by Polphonic Spree. Nightmare Before Christmas and all its music was created by Disney, for Nightmare Before Christmas, which hit theatres for the first time all the way back in 1993, over 15 years ago. "Nightmare Revisited" is a redone soundtrack of those original Disney songs recreated with Alternative music, and was released in 2008. It is NOT the original soundtrack; that's why it's called "Revisited."

  • Kind of like cross between the Wall/The town Meeting Song/ and something else... ?

    Pretty cool.

  • I'd go to his church :)

  • not great but still beats flyleafs version...

  • @dawnblk ...D: wtf no it doesnt

  • This song is magic, pure magic. It sounds like 70s rock, the best genre of music there is IMO, and 70s rock + NBC = THE BEST RECIPE FOR AWESOMESAUCE EVER!

  • This is a love or hate song.

I know that we're all entitled to our opinions but sometimes it's better to not say anything if you don't have anything positive to say. Whether you like it or not is irrelevent considering you're not a qualified critic. Let's just decide we "like" or "don't like" and move on to the next ^_^. There's not need for strife and indignation.

  • let me say something, this song IS GREAT. the sounds, the rhythm, the timing, the Angle, the composition.THE BUILD UP TO THE END... pure music. when listening to a cover you pretend the original doesn't exist bc besides words.. they have nothing in common. IF they played this at a concert with Slash taking the SOLO at the end.. .aww.. man. pure music....

  • Let me say something... It's not that great. Especially those random girls. Not as good as some other covers in this album.

  • yea i get its a cover, but it sounds like they never even heard it, like they just got the lyric sheet.

  • They like EVERYTHING to be EPIC just like Andrew Lloyd Webber, that's for sure. They definitely sounded like Pink Floyd.

  • I was willign to give it a chance until I heard how they said "how delightful a pox..."

  • cool

  • They ruined the song. I don' t care if it is a cover. All the others kinda sound like the original only better but this... this is just trashing the song.

  • @akiraa1996 :/ i can see where people are coming from when they say they don't like it. But i love this sort of music ^o^

  • trippy, pink floyd-like, awesome... yep.

  • Holy crap... I love how different it is from the original. Because when you have a cover that sounds different but similar, you're always comparing it to the original. This one is so different, it really becomes its own song. Wow. This is sooo cool.

  • Wow. This cover is just amazing.

  • I loved this... Even though its nothing like the original, the emotion the singer transmitted is amazing, you can really see the images going as the song plays, and the sorrow in his last words are what keep me raping the play button >>

  • complete and utter fail

  • Such a great...great cover. :D

  • This cover is amazing. I've never heard of the Polyphonic Spree before this and I think they made an amazing cover! This is probably the best cover aside from the Jack and Sally Montage and Sally's Song.

  • The Music is superb, but sometimes it doesn't go to well with the words. But its still pretty damn good.

  • This is... different. The original was about coming back from another town, this seems to be a tale about waking up from a coma.

  • Cool, Rock n Roll!<3

  • somehow this reminds me of something like Journey meets Andrew Lloyd Webber, who THEN meets ACDC. not sure why, but it does. :D

  • I believe this is the only remix of Nightmare b4 X-mas songs I so not enjoy =( I mean, it's not an awful song... (not really in my liking though), it's just TOO different from the original! I like remakes, but this one was just too drastic, it's almost unrecognizable T.T

  • I don't get why so many people dislike this song. I think it's the best on the album

  • @xequtor12 Totally agree with you, the song fucking rules

  • Those kids are especially fucking demented, man.

  • It's got a real Pink Floyd vibe to it.

  • holy shit this is bad ass

  • This was really cool until the guy started singing..

  • @dragonholder411 Go away hater.

  • @Nickleo9 Don't get me wrong nessacarily, I LOVE NBC (best movie ever and best soundtrack ever), i just don't really like a lot of the covers done from this movie, thats all.

  • @dragonholder411 I would agree with you. The only good remakes are the ones done my Korn and Amy Lee.....all the other could be questionable...

  • @dragonholder411 Thank you! Honestly, some one who admits that they dont agree with some of these with out making a huge fuss and an arse of them selves.

You've restored my faith in man kind. Thank you. :')

  • I love this song.

  • This is what Nightmare would have sounded like if they got Roger Waters to do the soundtrack instead of Danny Elfman.

  • yeah no....don't care for this cover

  • @QwErTyUiOp565 Kidnap Mr. Sandy Claws is my favorite song! i LOVE Korn's cover of it!

  • cant stand this one. waaaay too slow.

  • Awesome!

  • "It's as real as my skull and it DOES EXIST!" My favorite part. :)

  • I'm pretty indifferent about this version. It's a unique cover, and I kinda like the clarity of the parts where the people ask "A box? But why? It's so ugly," etc. etc. Yet, somehow... the rest of the song doesn't seem to capture the upbeat of the original. Just like the cover for "What's This?" The whole mood of the song changed, and I'm not sure if I'm a fan of it. = / However, I do have to say that Korn's cover of Kindap Mr. Sandy Claws perfectly captured the mood and meaning of the original.

  • I love how the girl goes " a.. bow?"

  • This is pretty good for a cover...

  • Yes it does sound like rent but i really dont like this version. I think they ruined it.

  • I honestly can't decide whether I love this or hate it. xD

    I guess I'm indifferent about it. ^^

  • wtf did they do a classis song?!?!?!

  • it reminds me of Rocky Horror Picture Show...it's so similar it's crazy...maybe that's why i like this version (not better than original, of course)

  • its sounds like this came straight from the musical RENT

  • @4SHURelsa Both amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • Reminds me of the finale part of the Rocky Horror Picture Show

  • it would be amazing it it wasnt so slow

  • dude my thoughts exactly..XD

  • only thing I don't like is the timing..

  • I personally love it, I think it gives the song a different view of things.

Anyways it's a cover >.< so it's suppose to sound different so don't hate just LEARN TO LOVE IT haha <3

  • I like songs with a long ass intro, it builds up suspence. Like Papa Was a Rollin Stone. It kinda gets u in the rite mood for the song.

  • I believe this to be superior to the original. in COMPOSITION in TIMING an TEXTURE and in the over all harmony and skill, if you disagree i question ur taste and knowledge of music. by far the most creative cover on this album. they didnt make it to be cool, they made it for what it is, MUSIC. PLUS! the guitar solo at the END ROCKS. I DONT CARE. IT F'N ROCKS LIKE NO OTHER. the gods of rock bless this piece of music. namaste...

  • I believe this to be superior to the original. in CPMOSITION in TIMING an TEXTURE and in the over all harmony and skill, if you disagree i question ur taste and knowledge of music. by far the most creative cover on this album. they didnt make it to be cool, they made it for what it is, MUSIC. • Well.. Um.... I'd say they changed that up quite a bit.

    :/

  • I like this version 1000 times better than the original. Danny Elfman is my favorite film composer, but the original always made me think of the Mexican hat dance at the end (the 30 seconds before the spoken part).

  • i love this

  • AND THEY CALL HIM, SAAAANDY CLAAAAAWS

  • I got bored of the song before it started, the opening was way to long, i mean WTF? A 1:23 opening? Get to the point already

  • @SHABAM789 I'm guessing you said that about Dream Theater, too. Didn't you?

  • This is the second worst song on the album. Right after sparklehorse's version of Jack's Obsession. Yuck

  • my fave part of this is "And on a cold dark night, with the full moon light, he flys into a fog, like a vulture in the sky"

  • i was hoping for a more rock version of this song, it was one of my favorites in the movie. And i think it would've sounded better being more of a rock song, but thats my opinion

  • This deffinitly has a Pink Floyd vibe. Like, the first 90 seconds sounded like "The Wall" to me, in a vague way. All-in-all, I like all of the tracks I've heard. I think people are being too judgemental because the songs aren't carbon-copies of Elfman.

  • i could barely understand it

  • All of these songs are so orgasmic! They totally need tio be like 40 trillion times longer. That would make me cum every second!!!

  • very strange but i like it strange is good

  • sux!

  • Wo. So far the 2nd song I actually liked in Nightmare Revisited. It's different, but I liked it.

  • er...its okay....

  • this is awsome like the pink floyed

  • @masterchaoss i agree whoaaaa you're right, reminds me of pink floyd kind of omg i love Pigs Three Different Ones

  • I agree with shamen princess is an odd remix but is excellent

  • I love this version! and I'm a Danny Elfman fan too. I totally want to look up this group now.

  • I'm sorry if you don't like this, but I disregard your opinion because it really is of no matter to me. this song kicks ass. <3

  • the tempo, the time measure, the harmonization are different... how is this exactly a cover?

  • Comment removed

  • @Luxful covers aren't supposed to sound exactly the same. they are supposed to be the band's take on a song. it's meant to be different.

there is absolutely no point in remaking a song if you're going to do it exactly the same.

  • I love this song and they way the person is singing it is realy good I would listen to this song all day long just like the song (Goodbye my almost lover) I love both of the songs soo much just to let you who ever song this song you sing realy good

  • I like it, it's like a completely different song, but it's good

  • The guy singing sounds a lot like Roger Waters, and yeah, they really reworked this song to sound like Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," or one of their many ballads...

    ~ MerrittTheFerret

  • This song is amazing, its so pink floyd ish, i love it!

  • i agree with hazular. but it sounds like pink floyd! lol.

  • Beast song on this cd

  • yay kids are singing in it. and they make it seam pretty cool, and stuf.
