The "noise" it's making is a result of the IACV(idle air control valve) and the fan switch plugs being reversed. The plugs are identical and switching them is a common mistake made during an engine swap. The IACV is located on the back side of the intake manifold and the fan switch is located on the thermostat housing. Even if you don't have the car anymore its worth mentioning because you may run into the same problem in the future.
