  • Everything is probably made to break in certain places at certain times, I doubt that the physics were real in this video

  • It's not that it get's scrapped "because it looked amazing"---- people seem to have no abillity to understand that videos like these are not "oh, I just threw this together to show you what our game looks like..."

These videos are carefully planned tech demos with rendered scenes (or at least carefully scripted), careful choices, concept art, etc. The goal is to make it look all pretty, but not really give any info about the game... HINT: there is no game... they just want FUNDING!!!

  • We need original games like this. To bad when ever anything looks like it actually has amazing promise it gets scrapped.

Think about it, the coolest looking games usually get thrown out. But its normal for that I guess...

I mean spore didn't get scrapped but the main idea was so wonderful. There was blood and great physics and realism. Then they turned it into mini game retard world cartoon fantasy 9....

Why can't developers just understand how much amazingness they could unleash...

  • 1. This looks better than the portal 2 stuff i just saw

    2. it's 2010 and this game was set to release 1/2/09

I don't like how this looks either but either this is a BIG FAT HOAX or it will never be an actual game

  • @TheNumberZed This "game" was a typical hyped vaporware.

  • well, I'm definitely looking forward to the release

  • Cool!!! Larrabee rules!!!

  • @Firanolfind Larrabee also cancelled.

  • when does this come out?

  • what a bunch of losers, first they claim to make a epic fantasy game with un-seen graphics, then they sell there engine to nvidia.

  • Do you know if this game will be able for PS3?

  • nope 360 and pc only haha

  • @XIVscarfaceXIV PC only. Go to prject offset's main website, they explain it can only be handled by the PC.

  • @XIVscarfaceXIV fuck you 360 fanboy

  • this is like a movie

  • There was a rumor saying that Intel was convincing Nintendo to use this processor for the next console.

  • havoc physics FTW

screw nvidia and it's proprietary, closed standard physx, NVIDIA basically KILLED game physics

who dares say that we have game physics thanks to nvidia. . PFFF you have got to be kidding me. . .

physx enabled games powered by nvidia drives a pity small list of games and what are physics on those games? just flying strips of paper, or ripping clothes, etc simple stuff, NOTHING REAL OR REVOLUTIONARY. we'll have to wait for open standars for gameplay physics to appear.

  • Holy shit, if Larrabee is this powerful...watch out ati and NVidia..our next gpu's might say "Intel 1GB GDDR5" on the box!

  • Actually nvidia's Fermni and radeon 5000 series can easily handle this graphics. And Larrabee is not that powerful at all, that's why it was CANCELLED.

  • I know, I own the GTX 275 which drives Crysis at 1920X1080 on my 40" WideScreen Display, but Intel was never known for their Graphics chips to say the least and this demo is very impressive on their part, to bad it was cancelled but that doesn't mean the tech that they developed went to waste, im sure they will use it in future iterations of their future tech.

  • THIS will be great on Wii 2

  • lol this is the stupidest comment ive read in weeks. you think the wii will have these capabilities? you'll be lucky if nintendo doesn't take another step back and just start selling N64's again. that was the last decent system they made.

as if a decent console could save them anyway...

  • I just want to tell you 2 things

First, I was talking about the next Nintendo console, it wasn't an abreviation that I wrote on my last message

I was refering the Wii 2 as the next Nintendo system

Second, the company said that this could be integrated on the Wii 2, so this would be cool

  • @DJordydj ALso on Gamecube ! )

  • I heard they kill off the project for now. I really they still create it or something simular so that we dont have to deal with half assed intel video cards. given the x4500 isn't half bad.

  • ppl I think that in future CPU and GPU will be same chip. Nvidia made CUDA which simulate CPU, AMD trying to make same thing since 2005 bcs of that he bought ATI, and that is big problem for intel. Future is in makin one chip for everything graphic, sound. In new editions of motherboards like intel i7 and AMD700 bridges and controlers are integrated in CPU, next are graphic cards.Future is coming.

  • @karke86 I bet it is. 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF BSODs to go.

  • @karke86 you were right AMD zacate i reckon it's a CPU with a built-in GPU wich is better in games than most integrated chips at a LOW PRICE . AMD FUTURE for cheaper gamers :D

  • Intel's got those physics on lockdown, everything moved very realistically. can't wait to see games looking exactly like that, but sorry for saying, if there were no game consoles games would probably look just like that now.

  • we need intel in the market !!

i wish they release it soon ..

  • doesnt look better than my 260GTX

  • that needs loads of CPU

  • Well.. larrabee is supposed too offload the CPU so that means this rendering and physics calculations where mostly done on the Larrabee cores...so that means it didnt need that high load of cpu.

  • AWSOME, i can't wait for Intel Larrabee.. It is the best surprise ever!!! Imagine you can play all games more than 60fps on MAX graphic setting! XD

  • ray tracing is great, no doubt about it, but it works out a lot better for pre-rendered 3d content. It is getting to the point where you aren't going to be able to easily tell the difference between ray-traced 3d and rasterized 3d.

Frankly, crysis looks way better than this tech demo, and that was 2 whole years ago. the fact is that raytracing grew up in the cinema and rasterizing grew up in games.

current monitors don't offer enough resolution to be able to make out details ray tracing gives.

  • well I'd disagree, ray tracing would allow you to do a lot more with reflective surfaces, especially would benefit something like a racing simulation or any environment that's reflective heavy

  • The problem with the first generation of Larrabee chips, even the ones with large amounts of cores (32, 48 or even 64) is that the performance is reportedly going to be lower than the new DX11 GPUs coming from AMD (R8xx) and Nvidia (GT300).

The first Larrabee, coming in early 2010, is only expected to perform on par with a GeForce GTX 285 which is a 2008 chip.

Hopefully future generations of Larrabee will be able to match and overtake high-end AMD / Nvidia GPUs of the same period.

  • I suspect that Intel has some master plan involving Larrabee. They would have simply bought Nvidia if they wanted to enter the GPU market like AMD did. It's more likely that Larrabee chips are just the first step in a very long roadmap of something special.

  • Coming to an Playstation 4 near you :) google it.

  • larrabee is just as fast as a gtx285. this has ben already anounced by intel.

when this thing will come to ps4 in 2012 it will be fucking slow compared to a mainstream gpu for 100€ as rv870 will already come this year and gt300 2010

  • but remmeber that:

1.larrabee need to process more then thos cards!

he need to process ray-traycing and for this you need power full graphics card for showing 30FPS!

    so he realy more power-full.

2.NVIDIA and ATI are old in this market so the have more expiranse.

its like saying that adult hourse will need to bit child hourse so....

its prety hard so dont compare!

  • @ Skipan2

The GPU going into PS4 has NOT been announced. Nor has PS4's release date.

I would expect whatever PS4's specific GPU is going to be, whether it's from Nvidia or Intel, it'll be a full GPU-generation BEYOND GT300 and first-gen Larrabee.

If Intel, then based on Larrabee2

if Nvidia, then a DX12 GPU more advanced than GT300.

  • i never said it is announced.

thecyborgx2 said it and i just said that would be fucking slow as larrabee (1) which is not even finished will just be as fast as a gtx285 and that would be fucking slow (when the ps4 release in some years compared to other normal gpus)

  • Is ATI out of the question.

  • The PS3 actually needs market penetration before Sony even begins to consider releasing a new edition. I would be talking about the next version of the Xbox.

  • And what if Larrabee hits the market for $80 and has half the power consumption? That's a big problem for Nvidia and AMD

  • @charleshoskinson

you think that a 32core cpu(8 quad cores) which has special drivers to simulate a gpu will cost only 80$?

i would rather tip on 800$

  • this benchmark could also be played on the 48 or 64core version.

and theres not even a prototype of larrabee. intel is still simulating it with 8,12 or 16 I7 cores

  • have u checked out otoy's and amd's stuff? AMAZING

  • well if it does come to a playstation near me id be very very disapointed! haha . the graphics card is gonna be old by the time it comes out in 2010 haha

  • xbox 360 and playstation 3 gpu is so outdated by current gpus pcs have but the Cell CPU is future proof 4 now

  • srry to blow up your spot but ati 4850+ can easily handly this simulation

  • man this larrabee graphics card is fucking hardcore!

man i will buy this thing!

  • crysis?

  • nice, thanks!

  • looks pretty.
