  • I was lucky enough to see her in Dallas. My girlfriend's mom had died 2 months prior to this concert. It was stunningly beautiful, but having kept her emotions "erased" it was the catalyst. i just held her. But she is a woman of a different era. A graceful old soul who despite her extreme shyness, shared this intensity that is RARELY so palpable and haunting. Thanks for posting this. And making me cry! lol! ;^) & :^(

  • what a great performance and video. I love the beats as well but she does it so well acappella. wow!

  • i remember listening to this song when i was a child

  • I'm really pissed off with people that always feel that have to draw comparisons between performers. I love Dead Can Dance but to say that Sinead's performance of this song has "no feeling in the intonation" is absurd! SINEAD IS IRISH! She not only is a talented singer in her own right but brings an historical and cultural perspective that no foreigner can grasp. "No feeling" indeed. She is a white hot ember!

  • I would like to be BUTT Graves and such or should I say tough girls make me Feel so different, cause that is what they do feel so different

  • Anyone who thinks this performance is sub-par must be tone deaf and a Philistine.

  • So nice but Better by DEAD CAN DANCE

  • Son nice but Better by DEAD CAN DANCE

  • Really poor version compared to the DCD version. Poor vocals and really bad rhythm. Powerless voice and no feeling in the intonation. One of the worst versions of "I Am Stretched On Your Grave" I've ever heard. She should stick to merchandised pop music and leave these things for true musicians

  • It's an alright version, but I prefer Kate Rusby's. Sorry

  • She has the purest live voice in all of music. Nobody can match it. Truly impressive.

  • @fishman017 although she is a great singer... your comment is debatable

  • Respond to this video... let's debate then. Name a live vocalist who can match her range, tone and stage presence. From what I've seen and heard, it can't be done, especially when considering an a cappella performance like this. Perhaps there are some operatic singers who come close, but I don't think she can be surpassed for pure lyrical talent on an open stage.

  • @fishman017 given these circumstances im not entirely sure. i was thinking of Sarah Brightman.

i am not very good at debates so i guess it might have been foolish of me to challenge anything

  • Love beyond death

  • off key??? come on.....love to see YOU sing a song of dread and remorse and keep yourself together.....

  • have always loved her songs!

  • aw.. she had a cold :)

  • @groovylocks don't get me wrong.. she's still incredible. But goes off key a few times.

  • I was in the audience for this, and it was perfect.

  • This is a nice version of the song, but it's pretty much exactly the way I imagined she'd sing it. I was hoping for something just a little bit different from her.

  • LOOOVE THIS SONG....Thanks.

  • ?? @devolve42 ; how can u mastrubate on this ? it has nothing to do with sex ...

strange... its a amazing beautiful song, that's a fact,... but i don't get it

  • @OskolokXlda

Ppffttt.. How do you NOT understand it!?

lol jokes, I have no clue either..

  • I am entirely capable of masturbating to this.

  • Chilling. I can see vividly the romance of the two of whom she sings. Platonic, pure, holy. Beautiful.

  • The greatest loves are the ones that die unfullfied. And your maindenhead still is your pillar of light. So f'n cool. How great is she, that she sounds like that without anything, no instruments.

  • I like Kate Rusby's version better. The tune is more melodic.

  • This is actually a 17th Century poem written by an anonymous peasant in Ireland. It's been a song traditionally sung for centuries, in different versions. O'Connor wrote the music for this version and sung it on her album - then Dead Can Dance COVERED O'Connor's version of the song, using HER music, on their album. Just FYI, for those who like the song.

  • what a haunting song...

  • Abney park FTW

    absolutely stunning.

  • "I Am Stretched on Your Grave" is a translation of an anonymous 17th-century Irish poem titled "Táim sínte ar do thuama". It was translated into English several times
