  • @bar736 Bad comment

  • Never played BF2, so i couldn't say. But this is coming in Back to Karkand!!!

  • USA.

  • Awesome Video!! Thank you for sharing it with us!! Our daughter is now stationed on the USS Wasp! Thank you ALL on the USS Wasp for all that you do to keep our country safe from harm!!!

  • they found cracks in the engine of f35..seems that f35 will be another great failure of aviation history

  • great music.... i don't know what the dicks in here are complaining about

  • scorched carrier surfaces.. not good.

  • @groov539

Harriers did that. This is the 1st landing remember?

  • Definitely real

  • It's a magic .

  • enjoy open-air flight!

  • SUPER STEALTH TECHNOLOGY LIGHT YEARS AHEAD

  • 14 Russians disliked this video.

  • Everyone wave goodbye to the F18!

  • it s a fake

  • @jahails74

How on earth is that fake

It cant be a simulation (way too realistic!)

  • This music is like putting a microphone in a beehive... Nice landing : ) I hope the F-35 is all it's chalked up to be, now sling 6 AMRAAMs in her... lol

  • Thanks to all the pilots and ground crew for going out and testing this plane... fly safe!

  • Thumbs up if you tried this in Battlefield 2.

  • About 140 million dollars.

  • Pretty Fake.

  • @ViciousCritique look in the suggestions you would be surprised also Google the Harrier Jump Jet

  • Song is Groove Cutter- My Shooter

  • USA! USA! USA!

  • LIKE A BOSS!

  • WTF

  • no music next time please

  • F35 is a STOVL, not a VTOL, not a VSTOL. It cannot take off vertically.

  • @falconwings

The F-35 can take-off vertically, the F-35B to be exact, the one on this video. There's plenty of videos showing the F-35 vertically taking off.

  • @galatasarayfan67 Negative ghostrider. The one taking off vertically is the X-35B, which was only a concept model used for contract demostration. Early during the development phase of the F-35B SDD models it was concluded that vertical take off capability could not be achieved, specially during highly loaded missions. Thus the VTOL code was replaced for STOVL (Short Take-Off, Vertical Landing). The F-35B needs about 200 ft of runway to takeoff, which is close to vertical, but not quite

  • My ears are bleeding.

  • Disliked cause of the music.

  • I dont get the hype...the British have had Vertical landing planes for decades.

  • @3dhell

There really isn't much hype for it's vertical acspect, but the F-35 is under a lot of criticism, mainly the F-35B.

It's just talked about because it can supposdly do everything, vertical, stealth... etc.

  • That landing pad was misleading!

  • if you want to hear jets...go see a plane show...if you want to hear the ocean...go to the damn beach...enjoy the music and effort the person who made this vid put in.

  • Name music please =)

  • Name of song please?

  • It looks like that is a flap that covers the Intake fan behind the cockpit

  • They fly with the canopy open on nice days.

  • @OlegkaLive only idea

  • Hell yeah! THIS STOVL IS A BEAST! So honoured to be a part of this historic moment! God bless the test pilots that fly each variant of our test acrft!

  • Israel - SOON.

  • This is some crazy stuff. Amazing.

  • Why is the canopy open?

  • @Stickman698 Watch the last 6 seconds. The canopy is not open--that's just a flap.

  • Footage from battlefield 4?

  • che spettacolo, chi ha messo non mi piace è un fessacchiotto

  • Robotech

  • For all you haters. You will never understand why we built this aircraft. You will never believe that without it we would lose 5000 forward bases. Locations to deploy this aircraft that no conventional take off and landing aircraft could access. Locations that put it closer to the warfighter to help save our soldiers lives. God bless and safe return to all the men and women that put themselves in harms way for us.

  • Thank god for the mute button...

  • Nailed the landing, great job.

  • And right after the landing the aviation boatswain's mate had to scrub the deck so you could see the yellow line again. :D

  • Look ma I can fly sideways.

  • For a second their I thought the pilot was landing with his canopy open. Then I rememberd that the F-35 can do what the harrier's do, which is VTOL

  • -1 for god awful music

  • Cool video, horrific music.

  • doesnt foward lookout have anything better to do than record an aircraft landing on the flightdeck? damn BMs!! USS Wasp - 05-09 1st division

  • When will F-35C complete first shipboard landing and takeoff? Before the end of this year?

  • music ruined

  • I bet you anything that the audio is beyond recognition. It was probably so freaking loud.

  • Let us hear that engine!

  • NEIN!!!

You vill listen to ze unrelated, exotic, foreign techno, UND YOU VILL LIKE IT!!

    YOU VILL LIKE IT -HARD-!!

  • Im gonna be honest the Harrier is much cooler but this is better i am aware.

Nice to see how the Harrier lives on in the F-35

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl actually yak 141 lives on the F 35 cause it has its concept.

  • @85LARGE VTOL was from the harrier and this is replacing the Harrier for the US marines.

Its has other aspects of other planes but the VTOL part is because of the harrier. Every VTOL craft is modeled on the Harrier because that plane is legendary and the best VTOL aircraft in the world.

If the Americans get this planes VTOL right then it could challenge the Harriers dominance in that area.

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl I assure you this plane surpasses the harrier on many levels

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl no one talks about the VTOL in general. Its the specific f35 engine design with one swing nozzle in the back and one whole turbine in the middle that is taken from yakovlev. Harrier is whole different story. It has four nozzles, two on each size of the fuselage. Google is your friend.

  • applause!! Bravo!

  • I was under the impression that the navy version of the JSF will land conventionally on US carriers.

  • @JDI4DAVID That is correct. The STOVL (F-35B) version (this jet) is for the USMC and is scheduled to replace the AV-8 Harrier.

  • @JDI4DAVID You are right the Navy version will land conventionally on the carrier. This isn't the Navy version, it is the USMC version "BF".

  • whats the song called?

  • @dobrinia93 Groove Cutter - My Shooter

  • @dobrinia93 groove cutter - my shooter

  • So many people crying about the music. Just shut up and watch the video.

  • lol an F-35 video is 35 seconds long

  • Finally PAK FA drawings are stolen. =))))

  • Nice work...what about the Brits, are they happy with the performance and what's the cost per copy ?

  • I can only guess the recording sound was so messed up by the radar that they put this music on.

  • IM quite amazed the deck didnt flare up

  • F-35...why you pain in the ass?!?!??!

  • Wow, good job! But a US Govt. movie could do without the 90's Techno.

  • Bout damn time we see some progress with this aircraft, considering we have a fleet of F22s collecting dust on the tarmac....

  • @thedothedew comparing Apples to Oranges is the same as comparing the F22 to the F35... different plane, different mission... F14 can drop bombs so why do we need B-52's... Semper Fi

  • @budda1125 Mmm I was in no way comparing the 35 to the 22, that would be like comparing the F117 to the F16, two different platforms and purposes. I was mainly just saying I'm happy to finally see progress with the JSF since the Raptors pretty much got grounded and havnt been used(to my knowledge).

  • @thedothedew

    F-22 fly again baby B)

  • @thedothedew F-22 >>>>>> F-35 ... that's why we arent selling the f-22 internationally and the f-35 is being sold internationally

  • Please upload a version without the music. I want to hear the jet engine and the ocean. (Unless you plan on using Danger Zone, because in that case all bets are off and you can ignore what I just said.)

  • @ps3specter because the jet engine noise is still top secret -.-

  • @ps3specter they actually uploaded one after this one. look it up!

  • Is that an F-22?

  • @garsizzle Read the title.

  • @xero993 Haha, i know what it is... Just messing. I work on the F-35.

  • @garsizzle F-35

  • song name?

  • Awesome.

  • Why can't we hear just the noise of the ocean, the aircraft, the ship, the sailors, etc? Thank you...

  • @radbcc its confidential info

  • @oriyast Your point is well taken. It is rumored that this variant has an extremely high db level, perhaps even unacceptably high. I am sure they will figure it out.

  • @radbcc "unacceptably high"

Yes its loud, but there's no such thing as unacceptably loud on a navy ship, thousands of miles from any civilians that can complain.

The only variant which needs to be discreet is the airforce's A model.

  • Reupload with long video version please... :)

  • Do you guys trap your sailors at sea for months on end with this crap blaring through the loudspeakers?

  • great news!!!!!

  • @MStock711 - Oh, now I see that is just the forward intake door open! Whoops, sorry, that's what I get for viewing it on my phone...

  • GREAT!!! Soooo relieved..!!

  • This finally happens, I think we all have been waiting this for too long.......

  • Haha to think this will replace the A10, hahaha!

    Anyway, its about time

  • Comment removed

  • @JimMiller1989

    That's not the canopy that's open ;-).

  • First, I thought fake. Although, I can't find a reason I think that. And no, we don't need a VSTOL F-35. We didn't need the Harrier, and we don't need this variant. A waste of money IMHO. It may be cool, but it's not functional.

  • @rbuckfly1 Actually it's extremely functional. The F-35 program will replace a fleet of aging and less efficient aircraft like the Harrier, which is a really useful support aircraft. But I wouldn't expect you to know that since if you did then you would realize the usefulness of the F-35B

  • @jdmess14hc I agree the F-35 is extremely functional, just the VSTOL variant is not needed. It has the cool factor, being able to T/O and Land in the vertical, but we have never "needed" a VSTOL variant in any war. It's old Cold War mentality. If anything, the Harrier had it's arse shot off during the 1st Gulf War. But, I still totally back the land-based (or even if they could work out a carrier based) variant of the F-35. Question is, why the hell did they not build more F-22's!

  • I wish they just kept with the sound in the video.

  • Amazing! Who knows what'll come five years from now. I love technology!!

  • like the video but not the music.

  • It's about time already and very impressive! This planes empty weight is 4,000lbs hevier than the F-15's. I remember reading an article with DARPA saying that was not possible. So much for that.

  • I like this

  • This was just getting good when the music cut outs and the video ends

  • I just remember that when we were given the tour of the ship, that was part of the flight deck tour.

  • これを自衛隊はやりたかったんだろうなぁ

  • Yeah, my favorite Chief said that the coating had something to do with it.

  • Great job guys.

  • I'm talking about the direct blast from the VTOL engines, which is blown directly at the deck, as opposed to the normal jet blast.

  • @mkeillor Yeah, I'm aware you're talking about the jet blast produced by VSTOL operation...although it's the same engine - they don't carry separate engines for VSTOL. I just haven't heard of any carrier (such as the aforementioned Big E) having problems with the downward-directed blast. I suspect the "problem" is limited to areas with non-skid coating. Although, the -35B does make a lot more thrust than the harrier...

  • Hold on, I know a certain Navy chief with whom we sailed on a Tiger Cruise on the Big E a couple of years back, I'll ask him...

  • excellent video. cool as heck.

buut. the B-variant is as pointless at the harrier was.... STOVL is a more expensive and less tactically advantaged version of CATOBAR and EMALS....

can we save those tax dollars and use it on more important technology? theres a reason they call them helicopter carriers...

  • Nice to see my last ship doing something! Looks that 8 month yard period this year was worth it! Go WASP!

  • Semper Fi and Go Navy!

  • Okay, that makes sense. I know they have issues landing the Harriers on the carriers because the deck can't take the heat. thanks!

  • @mkeillor Got a source for that? I'm not aware of such a problem. I've personally witnessed a Harrier tearing up concrete at a civilian airport (Batten Field, Racine, WI for anyone who wants to research it) but haven't heard of any problems putting 'em on either Nimitz class supercarriers or the light carriers that were built for 'em. Not saying you're wrong, just that I'm unaware of that and curious...and couldn't find it.

  • @mkeillor ......accomodate the heat? what do you think normal carriers do?

  • What did they have to do to the deck to accommodate the heat from the engines??

  • @mkeillor Probably not a lot (read: nothing) since the boat was built to carry Harriers.

  • The guy with the white float coat on is my homeboy Kevin Marcellin and the tall guy is ABH1 Cory Schwisow.

  • Look at my boys

  • Nice landing!

  • Go Navy!!

  • ich kenne noch das 'alte' Verfahren - Streß pür für alle Beteiligten. Aber heutzutage scheint einparken mit dem PKW stressiger zu sein :-/

  • Fantastic!

  • Awesome!
