Remember everybody, the only equality in life that man deserves is equality of opportunity. Don't confuse equality of opportunity with equality of results.
Isn't it true though that if these kids had been born into a democratic socialist country they wouldn't have been in a failing school in the first place? And although teaching someone to make money is helpful if they are trying to get out of poverty what exactly did they LEARN? If I go up to the guy with 5 hot dog stands and ask him what he feels is the meaning of life I'm assuming he'll say to make more money because that's what he was taught.
BS - I doubt $3K a week and he would cramped in a metal box for hours. Plus Billy the Kid had daddy buy his the company and set him up with connections.
@amindbody Actually Democrats have had the most resistance to any changes in the school systems. Their demonization for that subject matter is a work of art at this point. Republicans started the concept of school choice.
@pentherapy That's right. Working hard for a living, doing something that other people want and will freely pay for, instead of demonizing businesses and shaking down successful people for bling bling. You know, like a Marxist Apocalypse.
Probably scares the shit out of union people and government employees. Just remember to breathe deeply - you'll be fine.
I was taught in 8th grade in a public school in the US that private enterprise was responsible for the great depression. Comparing that with what economists have to say about the subject, it seems to me i wasn't taught the truth, just government propaganda.
This makes me want to get the Fox Business channel even more. I'm confused about why we never vote intelligent people into office; it's always gotta be a "Republican" or a "Democrat". I use quotes because the parties that use the names barely resemble what they came from.
@jrwel14 Fox News admits that they are a conservative based network. It's not all news, and they know this. How is it any different than CNN or MSNBC? They are the same way, except with liberals.
What Republicans are in the NEA? I've had Republican and Libertarian teachers and they would keep their politics to themselves while the leftists were telling us about green energy and Obama. Being a liberal is a self-serving occupation in itself. Looking beyond my own experiences, I honestly cannot believe that Republicans have a large voice in this massive education union. I just graduated HS and its pretty apparent that if there is anybody on the right, they are hidden.

As, the father of modern day capitalism, Adam Smith said," It's not the apex, the top that makes capitalism work. But, it's base."

@MrStarstruck404 "Isn't it true ... failing school in the first place?"
No, unless you call Bangladesh a success.
"And although teaching someone to make money... did they LEARN?
They learned how to get out of poverty, something a few BILLION PEOPLE on this planet would love to do.
"...I'm assuming..."
Yeah, you assume a lot. Thinking, reasoning? Not so good. Assuming? Grade A.

@MrStarstruck404 Thinking there is a meaning to life doesn't show a high level of education.

@goPistons06 So true! We are taught that capitalism is evil from age five to eighteen! No wonder this country is going through so much trouble.

Excellent point. Look at the grameen bank and how it stimulates capitalism among the poor.

No politician wants children to think for themselves and to be innovative, that's why republicans and democrats don't change the school systems.
