A tiger or any other big cat will NEVER take on a fully grown aggressive buffalo head on. Watch documentaries. I even posted one myself. The big cats rely on the animal running away. Soon as the buffalo stops and turn to face the cat, the cat usually backs off (unless it has a pride to help it).
Another misunderstanding, yes if the buffalo isn't ambushed and is facing the big cat it will back off, but the cat almost always ambushes the buffalo. (with a pride that cat still tends to back off but its strategic in that it allows a circling effet with the rest of the big cats.

Yes but tigers attack mainly by ambush, it is quite rare for a tiger to attack head on like a lion normally does so it is quite doubtful that a tiger could take down a cape buffalo which is also the most agressive cattle along with the specially bred spanish bull.

No tigers hunt guar and such... However first of all it is uncommon, and second, they attack by ambush.
Hunting a cape buffalo through ambush is not something that is usually possible in the open grassland or sub sahara of africa.
So normally to take down a buffalo an animal will usually end up having to fight it head on, and a cape buffalo is more dangerous than a guar and a tiger wouldn't be able to attack it by ambush.
So really such an event would not happen.

A tiger or any other big cat will NEVER take on a fully grown aggressive buffalo head on. Watch documentaries. I even posted one myself. The big cats rely on the animal running away. Soon as the buffalo stops and turn to face the cat, the cat usually backs off (unless it has a pride to help it).

Another misunderstanding, yes if the buffalo isn't ambushed and is facing the big cat it will back off, but the cat almost always ambushes the buffalo. (with a pride that cat still tends to back off but its strategic in that it allows a circling effet with the rest of the big cats.

actually, some people start doint that, Tigers can't live well in asia now because human being, so some move a few tigers to africa to see if they can survive, then the result is very good by far

I think i saw a documentary on that. Some guy named Dave Salmoni and another man, rearing tiger cubs in South Africa.
Tigers will adapt to African jungles and woodland better than the open savannah.

That photo don't show if the tiger killed the buffalo alone or helped by other tigers. Either isn't evident if the prey is an adult buffalo.

orangedac, tigers hunt alone only small preys, and average preys as most; moreover that video shows a plastic buffalo, that's very conclusive because a tiger can't hunt adult buffalo; lone male lion can as showed on several videos.

Stop talking out of your rear end. I have made the challenge to you. Show me these videos. The ones i have seen are all twisted. And no, i do not think a tiger can take down a healthy bull buffalo either (cape african or Asiatic wild). But tiger is a better hunter than a lion though.
