  • lmao great stuff but the album cover is almost exactly like Scar symmetry's holographic universe.

  • This song is so powerful. Demonstrates beautifully just how much you can express yourself with a few guitars and some solid percussion.

    BTW go fuck yourself, aculturemind.

  • @mobius110

How bout I fuck you, instead. Line up, boy. I will at least give you a reach-around.

  • Bravo!!

  • Whoa... I don't say this often and don't meant to be non-original in my comment but, shut the fuck up and listen to the damn song or get the fuck off? o.o

  • @lKreyzee

Sorry. It might chuff you to know that it isn't the prerogative of some to just bugger off because you feel something is beyond comment.

  • Vegeta sent me here.

  • The music is awesome. Who cares what genre it is, or is not. Stop y'all bitching in the comments. Love and \m/

  • this shouldn't remind ANYONE of Animals as Leaders..

  • Reminds me of Animals as Leaders :) and I really like it. in response to Noctural, how is guitar simplistic? Especially this guitaring, very well put together.

  • Sounds like a Need for Speed 2 soundtrack :D Awesome!

  • Who cares about his skill in variation? Just shut up and enjoy the music. Not everything is meant to be processed. Some things are meant to be enjoyed, if you'd stop being so anal about it.

  • @AegrimTerminus

I care about the interesting-ness of the music. You *KIDDIES* gonna be usin nonsensicalness terms like 'TECH-nical METAL', need to put up or shut the fuck up. Nuff said.

  • @aculturemind

Agree, we are bordering on noodle fest 101 here... Lesson 1: how to make yourself sound cool by faking knowledge of music theory. With Logic and Pro Tools being so affordable and easy to use at home we are seeing a lot of these bands dependent on quantize, and sound replacement. This is not music, its manufactured gobbledygook. Kind of a Prog Britney Spears but far less interesting. I am guessing its just one dude playing and thats why it sounds fake.

  • @rufus566

Dude. I can't decide whether you were in earnest, or pulling some freaking hardcore comedic sarcasm. But either way, DUDE, I was stoked.

Now, in a possibly surprising manner, I'm going to say that I think I was missing a little something in the cleverness of the rhythm part. I was diggin it, almost air-riffing it. However, I still stand by my original sentiment of need for variation - and it would be that much more wicked. Is what I'm sayin.

I'll come back for some more.

  • I kinda have to agree with aculturemind on this one. I myself am a lead player, and from the phrasing i see him constantly going back to lick ideas that make his note flurries unimpressive. He plays it safe, always going back to something he is comfortable with; something that was already played in the song and sub-par as a cadence. The whole idea of fusion note flurries is to take a common scale idea and use altered modal progression to create dissonant yet theoretically sound melody

  • ...and I am kinda not seeing it here.

I WANT to see him become a better musician; he isn't bad by any regards. Just unbalanced. Quit trying to copy Garseed (sp?) and become fusion-metal; it is what your otherwise sound song structure screams. Might I suggest Animals as leaders and taking that in a Garseed-ish direction? I am talking of their progressive feel, which this song lacks.

Garseed isn't bad, but we do NOT need Garseed imitators.Take a trip into the land of altered symmetry; it's fun!

  • @arsguitarrica

Dude. Almost, totally. Regarding only the last bit, I have to quote Milton Babbitt: Consonance is a matter of context. (Neutral, versus dualistic, system.)

  • AWESOME!

  • Dope! Haven't used that word in a while! Isn't it nice to listen just the band every once a while!

  • Just fund this shit... its freakin amazing... and i dissagree that its to gitar oriented.. we need more music like that these days!!

  • The whole idea is to listen and not judge. If you do not like change it

  • half of you theory people cant play worth shit half the time, so stop putting in your useless word and just listen to music, instead of trying to be "musically correct"

  • @jon3266

Go listen to some Schoenberg; that's some difficult music to play. Oh, by the way, Schoenberg had almost no instrumental facility, and, like Bach, wrote at a table. And knew exactly what it sounded like.

  • Maybe he just wanted to write a lead guitar oriented song? You're so into big awesome bands, check out Animals as Leaders. Lead guitar oriented, no?

  • @TheSuddenFire

There aren't any big awesome bands any more.

  • @aculturemind What a horrible statement.

  • @TheSuddenFire

    What/which part was horrible?

  • Its really good, but it feels like a big intro, awesome lead guitar

  • @aculturemind Well let's see you do it better!

  • Comment removed

  • @NocturalRyte

I'm going to re-write that: I didn't say your stuff is bad. It's simplistic, because your compositional tools are simplistic. Instead of looking to what people have done in metal, or pop culture in general, look to what Art Music composers have done. Of course, you'll need to *understand* what they've done.

  • @aculturemind Firstly, it isn't my stuff. Its a one man project from Poland. If you think you can do better than him, let's hear it.

  • @NocturalRyte Oh, please. So when you don't like a movie, you're obligated to do better than the director?

  • @NocturalRyte a music critic is not necessarily a musician ^^

  • @NocturalRyte The idea that someone who just posted his opinion can do better is not viable. I can tell sports players that they sucked ass in a game, but that certainly doesnt mean that I can do better. Since when can you only have an opinion about something you yourself can do better. Guess they didnt inform me. lol

  • @NocturalRyte It makes sense if it's more guitar lead oriented because it's a one man project. I mean another band that is also kind of in the same boat is Animals as Leaders.

  • @aculturemind you criticize others' work and then you give them advice as if u are someone important and you know what is best for others and on top of it, you call them 'son' so as u seem like a mature, grown up, much experienced guy and others dont really know much and need you to teach them how to *understand* things, like u do so easily. you seem to be a huge asshole if u ask me.

  • @diasspeed

I'm already way ahead o ya, son. And this is my own:

"Better a smart asshole than a DUMB ASS."

Even as a teen, I laughed at others my age who had authority issues. I laugh even harder, now. Oh, by the way, "grown-ups suck". I'll tell ya, you kids have all this fuckin technology an shit, and yet you can't think up new emotional models.

  • @aculturemind im not a kid, im 30 years old and i grew up with music from 80s, 90s. better try again with a new comment...you got confused before i guess..

  • @diasspeed

You're a kid. By the time you were old enough to understand what the 80s was, they were over. You probably still don't understand what they were.

  • @aculturemind hey dont call me kid...i liked 'son' better. anyway, you seem really rediculous cause grown-up and experienced men like you can *undestand* when they are getting trolled but instead you respond like a 15-year old...haha...keep it going, you are building quite an amusing character out of your comments, on other people's lives ;). consider buying yourself a mirror to check under your belly if your balls are as big as you think they are ;)

  • @diasspeed

That's a better response, you didn't throw in any text speak.

    a. Grown man! If it weren't impossible to insult me.....I'd be insulted.

    b. The trolls. I eat them.

    c. I've got big balls, I've got big balls.....and I'm itching to tell you about them.

  • @aculturemind "i eat trolls"...."i've got big balls - i've got big balls"...

    'nough said i guess :)

  • @aculturemind

Why do whiners like you even JOIN youtube!! Just listen and njoy (if u can)!!

  • @SparkShredder

Sound like you's da one be whinin, yo.

  • @aculturemind

OMG! Now ur a hipster too??? KMN!!! :(

  • @SparkShredder

I am beyond Culture. [notice my response to someone above yours] I use vernacular as I wish.

  • @aculturemind

Don't wet yourself, son...ur "extraordinaryly" deceitful talents are of NO use to us!

  • @SparkShredder

    Um, people are deceitful.

  • @aculturemind Good troll-job man! Your comments, your self description ... it all fits! Haha! I almost pissed in my pants hearing your uploads! lolz, awesome!

  • @TheDangrob

FTW! Glad you had a good experience.

  • @aculturemind lol.

  • @aculturemind you sound like a music snob who can't appreciate anything simplistic because you look for some other meaning other than what youre hearing. Also, you sound like a doosh.

  • @IWishIWasFinnish

You sound unoriginal. Because, I know what I'm hearing - versus hearing what I know. And, it's 'douche'. You need to be a bit smarter than this, yo.

Seriously, folks. You can't win. You WILL lose. Because your brains have been programmed by Culture. Face the fuckin music!

  • @NocturalRyte he was just giving you constructive criticism. i also think the drums are a bit to quiet

  • @aculturemind your face needs more powerful compisitional tools son

  • @hotpockets008

Mmmm. I'm glad we've established that you're ten years old.

  • @aculturemind and i'm glad we've established you're a complete tool

  • @hotpockets008

    Dude. Think artfully.

  • @aculturemind Agreed. This really isn't that amazing, it's decent.

  • @aculturemind Composition is always easier in theory than actual application. Sure, it might not be world-shakingly ground-breaking, but I'd much rather listen to someone who's striving beyond a writing style of stringing riffs together than 90% of the rest of the metal that's out there.

  • @Psyshimmer

This has nothing to do with theory, but of craft. 'Stringing riffs together' has at least more variation. If these 'djent' folk are going to do ground-bass themes, they might listen to Bach for some pointers.

  • @aculturemind ..under the assumption Bach can be a source of inspiration for them. Composition is a skill to be learned just like any other, and who's to say that Piotrek has even hit his stride in respect to his compositional ability? Given that this is his first release, the content isn't too shabby. Especially in comparison to a great deal of the rest of the one man bands that are out there now.

For your criticism, have you ever taken a stab at actually making music yourself?

  • @Psyshimmer

Anyone Bach isn't an inspiration for is clueless.

I find it interesting how often people don't check another person's channel when in a discussion with them, let alone before they may start one with them.

  • @aculturemind You're awfully quick to dismiss likely thousands of great composers who never used Bach as a form of inspiration.

Secondly, I rarely, if ever, bother checking someone's channel as a result of a discussion I'm having with them; especially in a discussion that I lack any feeling of investment. I asked because I've never heard of you, and given your apparent prowess and knowledge of proper musical composition, this confused me.

  • @Psyshimmer

Beethoven hadn't even heard of Bach till at last half-way through is career, yes. But notice how his music changed after hearing Bach.

I don't need investment. I have curiosity. I check others' channel and such because it tells me things (often things I already intuited).

I have a modest output. Music I don't consider remarkable. But I like it.

there's a clip on my channel.

  • @aculturemind stop using Bach as an excuse to be an asshole. you have no music, this is good music

  • @Sh1fters

Ohhhh. I don't need an excuse, lad. I don't think you want any of this, though. In any case, if you used your noggin just a wee, you might see I do have some music.

  • @aculturemind Piss off, this OWNS> The lead guitar was great.

  • @stopglobalswarming

    I didn't say you couldn't like it.

  • @aculturemind sometimes less is more! just because you cant understand it doesnt mean its bad :)

  • @Metalhonved

Dude.....I'll give you less, an see whether you understand it. (And if you immediately think 'classical', then you need to dump that cultural shit at the door before even listening.)

    youtube.com/watch?v=Ntpmn0YXXWI

  • is this real or programmed drums?

  • @Sh1fters

programmed drums. It's just the one guy, a guitarist.

  • Syncopate the whole World now!!, loved it!

  • This music is fuckin' sexy !

  • Wicked instrumentation! :)

  • the drum is fucking HARD :D

  • Poland... the new Norway, without the hideous murders.

  • @czarguitar780 Ever heard of Warsaw, September 1st, 1939?

  • this inspired me, a lot.

  • this shit is awesome

  • Wow again, this guy is amazing. I though I'd try writing an album myself, until I heard this and Keith Merrow and Chimp. I quit!!!! LOL

  • This is awesome. Any more bands like this? I already know Gordian Knot and Animals as Leaders.

  • @redefn199 try bad salad, dream theater, porcupine tree. And Krzysztof Scieranski - I know he plays jazz, but...I don't know, just similar... Chroma Key? Liquid Tension Experiment?

  • @redefn199 I'd say this is not too disimilar from Karnivool. Check them out. Also, check out Eumeria and Dream Theater. Bloody good stuff.

  • @Seedling132 Eumeria is great, thanks for the suggestion. Of course, I knew DT already ;)

  • @redefn199 Symphony X, Adagio, Andromeda, Dream Theater.

  • @redefn199 You should definitely check Chroma Key, Meshuggah, Periphery and Mastodon out :) these are all fucking amazing bands

  • Sex.

  • First time I ever listened to this song: LOVE IT.

  • I'm glad youtube listed this as a recommendation.

  • omg fucking respect from Turkey.

  • wow this is fucking amazing, your cover album reminds me of AAL.

  • I am all the time on you tube listening music, and it is amazing how month after month I keep discovering entire new bands, great new music, new talents, and then when one thinks that there is 7 billion people on this planet, you realize, as long as there is something to beat on, the sonic wonders will never leave our world.

  • @MrMaschingewere yea dude i sometimes have to wonder if some of these guys are from this planet. the music the guys locked up in their basement somewhere doing it because its a passion are coming up with these days its just completely mind boggling and literally out of this world.

  • wow this is awesome. i used to listen to Gordian Knot wishing it was more like this.

  • Drop D tuning is making a comeback :) This sounds great!!

  • Супер, живело Ваљево !

Нема бољег прогресив метала, од ваљевског прогресив метала !

  • What is the mystery behind Polish bands? They know how to affect the inner soul. Greetings from Istanbul, Turkey.

  • good music, dumb people here trying to ruin it.

  • @uniqueskilz dont be a bitch pussy

  • @uniqueskilz Knock this shit off.

  • @uniqueskilz Holy fuck ...losers like you still exist??????.... its 2012 asshole get fucking grip

  • holy crap i love that album name. so... sexy haha. and the song... woah.

  • jam metal at its best

  • yeah, among other amazing instrumental prog metal bands

  • @handom85 Yes white music ...What else would you call this shit?

  • @uniqueskilz You are a total ignoramus ... go kill yourself

  • There are some interesting elements, but the still-over-the-top lead play, and that there was even a single blues note, killed it.

  • @Cherrypoppins18 Shut the hell up nigger lover.

  • good job

  • awesome :3

  • Nice to hear some good ole' white music! :D ...

Note: to any dipshit who calls me racist, If you went to the same school and rode the same buss as me with those mother fuckers then you'd say the same damn thing, promise!

  • @uniqueskilz Metal came from rock, which came from jazz, which came from black people. Yeah their modern "music" sucks, but know the orgins of things before you start labeling them.

  • @Cherrypoppins18

    Don't forget their blues influence.

And shit, back in the day who had more reason to feel oppressed, pissed off, angry, and looking for reasons to thrash and be loud.

Sounds like fucking metal to me. Good on ya brother.

  • @ritniis Yeah I did forget blues, I'm glad you mentioned that. Also, black people pretty much started rock as well. It wasn't until metal came about that it became "white" music, if it must be labeled something, though modern metal is performed and listened to by everybody.

  • @uniqueskilz white music? wow.

  • @uniqueskilz

Soooooo your opinions and beliefs are derived from the infantile and relatively short-span experiences limited only to a school bus and a school environment?

I'd call you ingnorant but it sounds like your still getting out of the mini-van.

  • @uniqueskilz

Ummm. There's nothing else to call that but racist :P

It's not white music just because stereotypically white people listen to it... Many of the Jazz/Blues innovators just happen to be African-American. Of course it doesn't matter what ethnicity anybody is because honestly why give a shit.

  • @uniqueskilz Animals as Leaders.

  • This cut sounds allot more like fusion than progressive metal

  • Great music, but they need vocal..

  • @HmsSulaco SHUT. UP.

  • @mifofif Easy now CHILD..

  • Fucking amazing <3

  • In case none of you guys knew this : Gru put this album up for free!

  • @frindle8 where at?

  • Utterly brilliant!

  • adorable!

  • polski prog...or....perogy prog? :p

  • Amazing stuff

  • first time listener to Gru. love it.

  • @Scottieonfire yep me to

  • they must put something in the polish water supply. so much fantastic metal comes out of that country!

  • @Ganymedify Maybe they still have water pipes made of lead, so that they get heavy metal running in their blood circuit... ;-)

  • Zdravím chlapáky do Polska, nádhera!!! Skvost mezi žánry, masakr!!! Díky za to že tvoříte!!! Miluju to!!!! \m/

  • WOW

  • Comment removed

  • Holy fucking cow, how good is this!!!

  • cd art, ,, ,, animals as leaders :S

  • Light up a spliff, press play, and quit having a winge about nothing guys.

    THIS is music.

  • I am sooo fucking proud to be Polish!

  • @hubertson93 Hails!

  • @hubertson93 Being Polish has nothing to do with it. Metal is universal. Beyond all borders of race, creed and heritage. These guys are awesome not because they are Polish, but because they are fucking Metal. You dig?

  • @lansirlot Not ''these guys'' but ''this guy'' :) Gru = Piotrek Gruszka. It's a solo project, run by extremely talented Polish man!

  • @lansirlot totally agree. God bless and keep metal alive and strong!

  • @hubertson93 Tak niewiel Ci trzeba do zadowolenia. A band.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is on par with Chimp Spanner!

  • right on

  • @NoisyPC Unfortunately I can't stand the fact that you're dumb. sorry

  • @kerkuss Lol, not dumb at all. Polish migrants = virus. They consume the local economy then move on.

  • @NoisyPC you know nothing about economics and how jobs and wealth are created, so why don't you just shut up and go to real work instead?

  • @Arjozof A) How do you know that I know nothing about economics and B) how can you be so blind as to not see that mass immigration to a small island such as England and then removal of wealth from OUR economy into THEIR economy is a bad thing?

  • @NoisyPC You guys should really argue about this someplace else.

  • @NoisyPC A) because you talk non-sense, which was refuted by Frederic Bastiat 150 years ago

    B) so the Poles are now pirates who come on their ships, take wealth and escape? Are you dumb or just been dropped too many times in childhood?

Immigrants who actually WORK - they PRODUCE wealth, not remove it. They produce goods and services for all English people to use.

The subhumans on welfare are the problem, and you should focus your attention on all the niggers, turks and arabs who never worked

  • @Arjozof Dude, you both lose lol

  • @TheWilderMusic that's the economics of the internet - always lose-lose situation :D

  • They're really good. I can almost stand the fact that they're Polish!

  • @NoisyPC So you are american aren't you?

  • @cocozaococozao123 No I'm English. Our country is flooded with Polish who earn money here (using jobs that English people should have) and then they take that money back to Poland. Out of our economy, into theirs!

    Damn European Union.

  • @NoisyPC Sorry, i understand what you mean... Anyway, Gru is just one guy and i'm sure he is not living in England.

  • @NoisyPC they earn money providing goods and services English need, but who would not take the jobs because they prefer to be on welfare and suck money out of productive people. So the only people who literally take someone else's money are the English subhumans on welfare. Got that?

  • @Arjozof Why are you guys arguing about economics and the Polish/English on a music video?

  • @NocturalRyte that's what music's for!
