One of my favorites off of Wichita Falls and not a bad version but yes, the album version is hard to beat, especially that one of a kind 1st take guitar solo!
I heard an interview with Pat Metheny where he says they very rarely play this song live because they can never get it to sound nearly as good as the album. I think it sounds pretty good live here!
I couldnt play with my left hand that line!

According to the Podcast on PM website, this was the first tune that Pat and Lyle ever wrote together! Fantastic post!

Amazing! The way PM has his second guitar strapped to his back! He's a genius guitar-animal, so uplifting watching him perform!

Does anyone know what keyboard sound Lyle Mays uses to play the melody of this song? I hear it on so much of Metheny's stuff. Great video

It seems like the video has been sped up. I don't think they played it this fast.

This has got to be one of Pat's most intense pieces. Wow. Unfortunately in the 4-5 times I've seen him live, he never performed this tune. Love it.

Is he still alive? I would love to see him in concert. You're so lucky...
