@dark699kun lol. its also Japanese kanji (writing) for ban (Japanese for full) hence its his "ban" kai so the symbol for the hand guard is the symbol for "ban" besides, a Nazi swastika spins the other direction :p

Yay's, sum1 other than me who just looked for the more reletive meaning, how many people watched the Da Vinci code then thought that symbol was everywhere? Reality is nice and simple, just rewatching Yoruichi's description of the difference between Shikai and Bankai, when she say's each one, their japanese text is shown on screen, so you can see the symbol in the wording for Bankai
