  • If you ever get a chance to eat at Robbie Montgomery's restaurant, Sweetie Pie's, she will give you an autograph and pose for a picture. Sweet woman.

  • I'm still partial to the Raelettes...check out those videos from the Ray Charles in Brazil DVD. Of course, they didn't dance like the Ikettes, but man could they sing and one always wonders (now) about how many of them were fooling around with ol' Ray.

  • @LesbianVampireLover I should've said something about the I-Threes (Bob Marley's backup singers): RITA MARLEY MARCIA GRIFFITHS JUDY MOWATT

  • Miss Robbie IS in the middle, Thats Jessie Smith on left (Ms.Robbie's right) & either VenettaFields or Joshie Armstead.Jessie & Joshie were at Ms. Robbies B'day party(71)on "Welcome To Sweetie Pies" on OWN Network.

  • The Ikettes were the best female dancers of all time when they were backing Ike & Tina Turner, but no one could do the CAMEL WALK like The Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown!!!

  • Is that Ms Robbie!!!?? Shes gorgeous still is!!

  • them boots lookin nice they rockin old skool lol look at ms. Robbie doin her thang

  • Get it Ms. Robbie. I love her on OWN

  • That's not the way we use to do the Camel Walk, hehehehehehehe.....

  • There were a number of songs called "Camel Walk", I now realize.

    This is pretty darn fantastic.

  • I must admit this musical arrangement is a touch slower but more powerful and funkier than the original "Camel Walk" by The Ikettes (Modern/Crown/Kent Records). The Ikettes rule but these studio musicians, performing live, really steal the show; I am listening to this over and over because the flawless execution of the song, would have loved to have been in the studio audience to see and enjoy it live. Ike Turner concentrated more on single releases for The Ikettes rather than albums, a mistake.

  • the future mirettes! these are them. pretty sure....

  • Great outfits the girls are wearing !! VERY 2011 ! x

  • Where's Anna Mae Bullock?

  • @casares35 I think this was one of the songs released under the name of The Ikettes - they did a number of them that were separate to working one the Ike and Tina stuff, so Anna Mae is not there.

  • goooooooood stuf!:)

  • great video! Thanks so much for posting.

With regards to the on-going dialogue..people who are racist are weak minded.

    It's that simple.

  • Anyway, completely smoking track!

  • There is no such thing as reverse racism, only racism. The term reverse racism implies a hierarchy of races, which is therefore racist.

  • I could see Malinda doing this, she can exchange this one for the dirty dancing dare if she wishes...lol ~hugs~

  • @ImmaLoyalWolf LOL No i think i pick the dirty dancing ! LOL

  • the one inthe middle is really a white woman they put stuff on her so she could look black

  • @TheRoundtree123 how do you know this? it's true they did have a white woman (Bonnie Bramlett) in the Ikettes at one point but that's not her, i think the one in middle is Robbie Montgomery

  • @babybluemusic426 ... Yes, Bonnie Bramlette was a substitue TOUR Ikette for a very short time, but never appeared on TV as such. Ike would employ as many as 9 Ikettes at a time: 3 for the recording studio, 3 for TV appearences, and 3 as Tina's tour backpus. When a "hit" record would come out of the studio, the TV and tour Ikettes had to learn the song lyrics on the road, and quickly. Ike, you could say, had 8 arms! His saying, "You've got 12 weeks before a good night's rest" was the law.

  • @babybluemusic426 She looks like Fanita James(?), one of The Blossoms.

  • @strandwolf she look more like Tina to me

  • @babybluemusic426 Wikipedia has it that between 64 and 66 the line-up was in fact Robbie Montgomery (ex-Artette), Venetta Fields, and Jessie Smith - I do know for a fact that 'Netta (as she is fondly known as in Australia) is on the right... so I think that you are right about Robbie being in the middle.

  • @kezcooke Look for Billy Connolly Route 66 Episode 1 he's in Robbies restaurant

  • the one in the middle is Robbie

  • they all look like tina

  • Ike Turner always had real attractive women in his Revue. Would have loved to see them performing with Tina back in the early 60s.

  • Is the girl with the long black hair African-American? Were there any Black dancers?

  • I'm sorry, but those spastic W-Gs who came in bipity-bopping and prancing in the middle of the song ruined it.

  • @SouLoveReal That is a racist comment. If they were spastic black girls would you still object? My problem with them is that they are not even doing the same dance as the Ikettes! Very distracting and awkward. But not because of their race. I am so sick of reverse racism and it is so accepted these days.

  • Yea they were and they country

  • The Ikettes,,if im correct these were tina turners,,background girls,,,,,
