lol, that's what I thought too, I figured they'd leave some hair up top, I joined the army, not the marines..... But they chop it all off...... it's beautiful!!! After basic training, we had more freedom on how we wore our hair........
If he's a freshman in college at age 22 or 23 how much will he get out of college other than just going to class. He will be so much older than his classmates that he will just go to class and go to his part time job. College is more than just going to class. My friend who went to Iraq and is in school now just feels like he lost 4 years of his life. He is trying to get out as fast as possible to catch up with his friends. College means very little to him
he's okay, i had it wrong and thought he was going right there but he actually went to Fort Bliss in Texas for training and now the camp he was going to in Iraq got shut down so now we have no idea where he's going over there.
I'm joining the Marines in 2010. I have no ulterior motives, and my only reason to join is to fight for the ideals and peoples of my nation. Whether it be the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, everyone who can should fight for their country. For all those who have fought, thank you. For all those who are fighting, God speed. For those who will fight, good luck. Oorah!
Sounds like you have been indoctrinated pretty hard by your recruiter, have you talked to someone who has been over there? They might tell you a different story, all of my friends would. your commitment will keep getting extended and extended. Its a no win situation.
Do yourself a favor and talk to someone who actually been over there. You might find it is something entirely different than what you might think it is. This is a no win civil war that has gone on for 2000 years now and is not gonna end anytime soon. The war was originally about oil, now we're in the middle of a civil war and neither side wants us there.
I can't completely comprehend the ramifications of my decision, and that's why it's a decision I just MAKE. I don't think about "Oh, it'll be a good experience" or crap like that, just "This is what I need to do." I understand that once you die, you're dead. The Xbox hasn't completely brainwashed me. I do think about things logically, and I'm not some hot-headed jarhead wannabe. I do want to join the Corps, but I need to go about it as respectfully and wisely as possible.
Yes, they are hardcore. It's not BASIC, that's for the Army. There's nothing BASIC about Marine Corps Recruit Training. I fully understand that boot is gonna f**k me up. That's what MC Boot Camp is all about! Turning men into Marines!
Brutus: Marine Corps Recruit Training will NOT f**k you up. Actually, it will unf**k your little civilian brain housing group, and get your thinking Corps! Best experience I've ever had. I was 1st Bn, Plt. 1032, PISC, 27 Jan-23 Apr 86.
As for the sandbox, it's not a pretty place, but its also not what the US liberal media moguls would have you believe, either. I commend you for having the guts to stand up for something other than yourself. OOHRAH!
Yes! Just found out a good soldier friend of mine deploys there next April. A big HOOAH to him and to all our honorable troops. Nothing personal, cockerham30, but I'm incredibly grateful to those who put country before self and serve. You can get an accounting degree ANYTIME. That's because of people such as this young man who fight to give you that option.
@Donner6 i was in the army and went to Iraq and had a great time but i have a buddy in the USMC right now who had to go to Afghanistan and is currently there and said it is the worst decision and just about everybody there says the same thing. he had to shoot and 8 year old that had an ied. of course thats part of the job but man it really screws with you. people can say they can do it but a lot of people have to think about it more can they really do stuff like that. it isnt for everybody.
The best of luck to you too, It's not a video game over there. People do come back messed up physically and mentally. I hope you actually talked to someone who has been there, my friends would have told you to not do it. Its a no win civil war that has gone on for 2000 years and neither side wants us there.
It's not about the money, it's about doing your part and fighting for your country. My brother came back on winter break and you can't imagine how many people thanked him and saluted him. Not everyone is greedy.
Why did you join the guard, you need to be going to college. It's pretty intense in Iraq. It's not a video game. You might see things you wished you hadn't seen. Hope they don't keep extending your commitment there like they have been doing to a lot of guys. The haircut looks great, I just wish you were going to college and not Iraq.
I wish him well, he needs his degree to do anything in accounting like being a CPA. I have 2 personal friends who were in Iraq and Afganistan. They came back without any injuries but one was affected mentally very much. He saw his best friend die and also shot a 12 yo boy who he thought from a distance was going to shoot him. He was sent back to Iraq 2 times after that even with the problems he was having. Both of my friends had their commitments extended over and over.
not to mention that you may not come back. Don't get me wrong, I will ALWAYS support the troops. But My Uncle joined during Vietnam and still must go back again and again because he doesn't have a degree and can't get another job. He's 65 and in Iraq. I support all the troops, but hope they have something to come back to when the war is over.
can you please post a video when john has his first fuck?
