i got this phone back in january of 09 with just talk and text and nothin else on it. i truly dont like it. the buttons are way to tiny for my fingers and im only 14 and i am not big or anything. buttons to small, the touchscreen menu apps r too tiny to push so when ever u touch the screen it goes to a totally different screen. this phone is not worth it. its to confusing and it doesnt make sense. it gets sent back tomorrow because this is my 3rd of 09 and its alrdy feezing and all the stuff

I jus got this phone yesterday (onyx black) and the guy at sprint "Beamed"(suppose thats the transfering you speak of) me a program called Minitones which takes the mp3s on a microSD and makes it so you can use them as ringers. At this point I dont have a MicroSD yet but so far thats the only free program Im aware of that can somewhat do what your asking. I already put 2 songs on its internal memory to test the standard mp3 player out but the phone wasnt able to use thoes songs as ringers.

i have minitones, and it works great. the phone without a card has like 50megs. so you can make your own ringers without a card. i got good at this, and put on LJP (nintendo games) and TOMTOM (GPS) i love this phone and have a 4 gig!
