I have seen 2x the sphere-shaped bright objects and I believe these where real and unexplained by flares or sun reflection or anything like that. But most number of the cases, where the UFO's are saucer-shaped, are affected by the knowledge of WW2 Germany efforts on the saucer-shaped vehicles powered by electromagnetic force. and these photos are no doubt the imagination + hoaxes.

@beatledude Shermer never made this clip out to disprove UFOs, only to show how photos aren't reliable. He had nothing to say about eyewitness accounts here. He goes into that in some of his books, although I'm on the fence about UFOs being spaceships or not. The photos are still unreliable. Eyewitness accounts are also less reliable than you think; our cognition and memory are prone to all kinds of errors and biases. My grandparents once saw a UFO--but they give contradictory accounts.

1) Alpha Centauri is the nearest star that may have habitable planets. It's 4.24 light years from us. That's 24,937,736,323,000 miles away. Traveling at 100,000 miles an hour it would take 28467.73 years for visitors to get here.
2) If someone travels this far, they're not coming to hide or say hello. Think what happened to the Native Americans, Africans, Indians and Australians when the Europeans landed.

The role of a skeptic is not to state what AS FACT, exists or does not exist, It asks reasonable proof to support the claims of people who say these things DO exist. Skeptics don't rely on faith/belief or hear-say, they want proof. The mathematics show we are most likely NOT the only life in the universe, but prove it with something more than easily reproducible images and so called conspiracies + testimonies of people who THINK they saw something alien.

One important point to make is that in alot of cases people aren't really interested in proving or disproving things. They simply want to believe something, they look for a little evidence to back it up and then they are happy. I'm not just talking about UFOs either. Quite often i've heard examples where people have been exposed as hoaxers and yet their popularity among the public does not suffer, sometimes it even goes up...

Try this experiment the next time you see a plane. Video-tape it. I promise you it will be blurry. This is a result of trying to image a high flying-far away object with normal camera optics.

@beatledude Shermer never made this clip out to disprove UFOs, only to show how photos aren't reliable. He had nothing to say about eyewitness accounts here. He goes into that in some of his books, although I'm on the fence about UFOs being spaceships or not. The photos are still unreliable. Eyewitness accounts are also less reliable than you think; our cognition and memory are prone to all kinds of errors and biases. My grandparents once saw a UFO--but they give contradictory accounts.

Object, flat, metallic, appeared to be large and far away. Egyptian workers noticed it and started shouting. Everyone stopped work and watched for 4-5 minutes (?). Object appeared to hover, disappear, reappear miles away. Did that over and over. Finally disappeared for good.
Due to the mirage factor I don't know what it really was. Strange as shit though. Still, wasn't proof. I want irrefutable proof.

The reason it's unlikely that UFO"s have visited us.
1) Alpha Centauri is the nearest star that may have habitable planets. It's 4.24 light years from us. That's 24,937,736,323,000 miles away. Traveling at 100,000 miles an hour it would take 28467.73 years for visitors to get here.
2) If someone travels this far, they're not coming to hide or say hello. Think what happened to the Native Americans, Africans, Indians and Australians when the Europeans landed.
Use a little logic.

Now if I claimed to be a skeptic, and a debunker, yet all I ever debunked was horrible videos such as the ones I just described, and I did so with an attitude of "see how silly UFO videos, are and how easily they are debunked" then I doubt many would see that as anything but a strawman argument. I admit its debatable if that is what is being done here.....Kind of a grey area IMHO.

One important point to make is that in alot of cases people aren't really interested in proving or disproving things. They simply want to believe something, they look for a little evidence to back it up and then they are happy. I'm not just talking about UFOs either. Quite often i've heard examples where people have been exposed as hoaxers and yet their popularity among the public does not suffer, sometimes it even goes up...

You can look up foo fighters on wiki. No one can say for sure yet what is controlling them but they are solid craft and intelligently controlled. Try this experiment the next time you see a plane. Video-tape it. I promise you it will be blurry. This is a result of trying to image a high flying-far away object with normal camera optics.

This video makes no consideration of UFO photos examined by multiple experts; or that have radar, eyewitness, physical trace, and/or other corroborating evidence. At the mall, he seems to berate UFO believers for not reversing their positions on the spot based solely on a single piece of data -- which would be unscientific in the extreme.
