Thank you so much for sharing nikolaos333. It brings so many memories to me. I took a year long internship under Kitaenko in Moscow Conservatory over 20 years ago. He coached me on this symphony and other Shostakovitch's works. I attended all his rehearsals with the Moscow Philharmonic and at the Bolshoi Theater that year. That was a good time in my life. Thank you, again.
@ArturoAlejandroS: Probably you're right. I'm just thinking how frightening this music happens to be - you feel tension, pain, anger. Still, it's also as if one's feeling unable to dare to openly say what he really wants to say. Really spooky stuff!
Δυστυχώς το πρώτο μέρος αναγκάζομαι να το κόψω στα δυό (είναι περίπου 20') και μάλιστα σε καίριο σημείο. Τα άλλα δυό όμως και ιδίως το τελευταίο είναι πολύ γρήγορα και πολύ χαρούμενα. Η αποθέωση της Μουσικής!
και η αποθέωση του Σοστακόβιτς να συμπληρώσω , ο οποίος , για να το πούμε επί το λαϊκότερον , δίνει ρέστα με τις συμφωνίες του σε πολλούς της γενιάς του μα και σε κατοπινούς συνθέτες ..κανέναν ισάξιό του στις μέρες μας δεν βλέπω ............
