  • get 2 good riders and put one on a wing and one on a h-d,,put them on a twisty road and play follow the leader and have the h-d try(and i mean TRY) to keep up with the wing,,,it wont happen,,,,its like trying to follow a porsh in a horse drawn wagon.....h-d's are nice but they are WAY over priced and dont have ANYWHERE near the performance or handeling of a goldwing.not to mention you will have to rebuild the h-d motor after around 100,000 miles where the wing is just getting broke in at 100,000

  • lol a thousand dollars less,,yea off of a $30,000 bike,,so you pay $29,000 and you dont get rear speakers or a lower faring,,,thats funny

  • Maybe if the guy would wear some normal riding boots he would be able to touch. He rode the bike for 1 hour.. he should have taken it for a weekend. I ride almost more in a year than he did for the entire time that he owned his goldwing. :)

  • Just traded in my Harley Street Glide for a 1800 Goldwing. Best thing I've ever done! Goldwings are the Best!!!!!!

  • Just an FYI, it's not a Tour Classic. That was a specific model made between 1979-1996. Also, the Rental Associate was incorrect. 6th gear is not an overdrive on that motorcycle. It is a direct drive 1:1 ratio.

  • the sound of hte interview doesn't work?

  • 8:10 - 8:20.....use the decker for short trips and "around town"?? Is he on crack?? (FYI I have '99 Goldwing GL1500).

  • This clip comparison is kind of mislead, because the whole purpose is the business wants to sell VICTORY, not Goldlwing, or Harley I hope someone sees this point! :)

  • honda all day

  • are there any other features on this bike that you would like on your goldwing? Yah, a 6th gear.

  • like both harley and wings wings are 50 years up from a harley.

  • everyone should ride what feels good to them. i sold a '97 GW 1500 and bought an '08 Ultra Classic. for me it was the best investment of my life. i felt like i was riding on top of an ice cream cone on the goldwing, and my feet didn't set flat on the pavement. the harley is more comfortable for me and my feet are flat on the road when they to be. i also don't like where the foot pegs are located on the honda, even the 1800's. the ultra classic seat and footboards are in a more natural position.

  • Boy, a whole lot of 'Herp Derp H-D is junk' comments from people who admit they never owned one. Maybe in the AMF days they were bad, but their quality has improved a lot; they're just as reliable as most metrics nowadays. That said, I love all bikes, and would just as soon take a free HD as I woud take a free 'wing. Ride your ride, and don't worry about what the other guy has.

  • sucks get a real bike my friend honda is the king:)

  • I like all bikes. Enough said.

  • I have a 2006 version of your bike. I owned nothing but harleys all my life. It is a different bike and putting an afternoon on the bike you cannot make a good assessment between the two. I would of like to seen a harley owner take a goldwing out for a spin and do the comparison also. However, good vid for goldwing riders. BTW, I cannot imagine my turn signal not on each side of the handlebars.

  • Agreed. I've had several Wings and currently ride a 2009 Ultra Classic. Don't get me wrong - the Ultra is a great bick and plenty of motoring fun there, especially with the new wider rear tire, but no comparison to my Wings ('94 and '98). Just different strokes for different folks, I imagine (there are riders, and then there are riders) :-)

  • i find harley too shaky on the hand , its not so good for your hand nerve specially as you getting older like myself , try to pick your guitar after riding harley , you'll have a trouble with it , harley is nice to look at , but not for musician like myself.

You can't just punish your hand all the time.

I love Harley , the history and all the pride its represent , but i won't ride it anymore. I'll settle for honda anytme , less noise polution .

  • I ride too fast, too far and too often... to ride a Harley!

  • Meet friends all overe the world... on a Harley-Davidson.

HOG is the biggest motorcycle-club in the world, organising events all over the world. The biggest motor-cycle event in Europe? Harley-Davidson's Faaker See. Honda has nothing like it. You want an ordinary sportsbike? Take a Hoyasuka. You wanna travel with friends? Join the HOG-family.

  • @FORDHAM4U "Honda has nothing like it." Besides the fact that they just build plain better bikes than Harley and always Revamp their lineup unlike harley. Harleys are only about style. Not Quality or reliability.

"You want an ordinary sportsbike?" The CBR 1000 RR is not any ordinary sports bike. It has the lightest engine in it's class.

  • look "goldwing alpine"

  • Anyone else notice the Busa very out of place in a line of Harleys at the dealership?

  • @HunterPilot24

A wolf is always out of place among sheep :-D

  • There are lots of nice motorcycles out there. For me there are Harleys. They are different from other motorcycles.

  • what's happened on harley !!

    that's amzing fuck degin

  • harley is shit!!

  • People don't purchase a Harley Davidson because its the greatest motorcycle on the road. They purchase Harley because what it represents. Honda could never capture tradition or passion. Harley is true to its roots from 1903. The engine is essentially the same. If you want a goldwing great, its a better bike. Me I like tradition and what America was built upon. Have fun with the plastic goldwing. I prefer chrome and steel.

  • @moike777, at least you're honest and not delusional over the HD brand.

  • Honda captures a lot of tradition and passion. They have a HUGE racing heritage. Possibly not in the way of the outlaw. But they are far more sporty, more responsive, and more cutting edge than the harleys are. Though harleys are mostly about the feel you get with the bike. Hondas are more about the cutting edge racing aspect. When they make bikes, they want them to be engineered around the person who's driving it.

  • Honda stick up to do cars !

  • A big Fuck you!!!!!!

Harley is a real bike go fuck ur mother with ugly no style goldwing ( dildo ) .

How many chapters faggot goldwing has???

6 cylinders, if the wind bothers him tell ur gay friend to hump on a minivan!

  • Harleys aren't even as fast as Hondas are. But I absolutely understand the apeal of harleys. The sound, the engine noise, the wind blowing n your face. But you wouldn't want to own one over a honda. You might as well have both. The Hondas are more cutting edge. Uses more modern fabrication methods, Idles more properly, is quieter, and have much more power than the harleys do.

  • @dalgostu ...go back to high school with your narrowminded namecalling with the rest of those pricks who give Harley riders a bad name. I can say that; I own a Harley and a Gold Wing. My bad ass bikes... ...you can hate on that for a while.

  • La chingada, HONDA GOLDWING is the best on the world

  • Comment removed

  • Hayabusa at 5:06.

  • this guy would look at hot pussy and say, ::its stinky, its wet etc etc.

  • honda,a real ashole dream,a plastic dream,just for oe oe's

  • Gay twinky can't spell and Honda's on TOP of the pile of Hardley Ridingson's YEARRRAH!! ...please. .

  • honda better?on the scrapyeart yeah

  • GW are nice, but the BUSA is the ONLY way to fly.

BTW Harley's are junk. End of story

  • Harleys aren't really shitty but they are way overpriced and people talk them up too much. Ask any unbiased motorcycle mechanic and he will tell you that Honda is (quite obviously) the most dependable bike on the road. I know people who have Goldwings with almost 300k on them with no rebuilding! That's rediculous if you ask me...

  • of course. Honda has always implemented the latest in technology and craftsman ship into their bikes to increase the reliability and lower the maintenance. The engine on some of the harleys haven't changed for over 30 year explaining how dated most of their tech is. The recent bike from them that i love however has got the be the V-rod. Finally a bike from harley that is actually liquid cooled above the 1k cc range and has sleeker looks. Other ones are prone to higher wear.

  • Yeah. Look at EVERY harley, they all have the same exact chrome covered V-twins... Most of them are outdated (almost all of them, actually). Not to mention, they still use pushrod engines on some of their bikes! LOL how sad.

  • I actually do my touring on a Harley Superglide Custom and I love it.

I totally appreciate where the Goldwing guy in the video is coming from, but I enjoy (for example) riding without a windshield - I don't feel like I'm riding without the wind hitting me. So things like that for me are a non-issue where for him he was all about the wind not touching him.

  • all you have to do is take the wind shield off...

  • I have a 2008 - 105th Anniversary Ultra Classic.

    I have a 2006 GL1800 Goldwing.

The wing has 100,000 miles in 2 years.

The hog has just under 4,ooo since Jan 17, 2009. (I don't ride it much since the wing is so much better.

I would not event joke about taking the hog on any kind of trip. POS all the way.

The wing is more of an American machine than the harley is.

Wanna buy a touring hog - contact me, I will sell you mine.

  • Hahahaha! this comment Rapes all!

  • Haha that's true... All goldwings are built in ohio... Not to mention HOnda is such a huge manufacturer and they PRODUCE alot of Harleys parts! ROFL Of course they don't engineer harleys, harley does the shitty engineering and Honda just builds the parts.

  • I went from an '05 HD Ultra Classic with the stage 1 to an '07 GL1800 Gold Wing. 30k on the HD & almost the same on the Wing now. I've had issues with both ... two warranty jobs each. Hands down the GL1800 has more power. I much less fatigued on those 500-1,000 mile days. I love the integrated GPS. Both great bikes. The Honda serves me better. I got better service with HD.

    Enjoy whatever you ride.

  • Honda is a better bike, I had a HD 1200... I tell you no lies, It was in the Shop too much, taking too much of my hard earned money! the Honda Is never in the shop neither is my Suzuki. If i was shopping for a bike, what would i want? something that is going to fall apart all the time or something i can ride without emptying my wallet? that's why i pick Japanese bikes over an HD, the Japanese bikes are more reliable too.

  • This guy rides a 1995 goldwing! And hes comparing with the new bikes. How??

  • shows how much better Hondas are.

New HOGs can't measure up to a 10 year old Honda

  • The Harley is the king of the road but the Honda Goldwing is much better Motorcycle . I have had both . There is no comparison .

  • @Schmupsy i've owned both as well...my favorite is the ultra...i don't like the foot position on the 1500 or 1800....there is no comparison for me either..but mine is for the harley...there both great bikes..
