My wife and i just returned from St Lucia after our honeymoon . On our way from the airport we saw some of the aftermath from Tomas and it was sad. St Lucia is a beautiful place with great people . We will go back to this amazing place . Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was there on my Honeymoon that week. We decided to leave early due to some personal issues. Two days later we saw the news. We couldn't describe the shock we went through thinking that if had not changed our flight we would of been there. We were suppose to fly out on Nov 2nd. Omg i didn't know the hurricane hit St Lucia this bad... am here jumping for joy that my Country Jamaica was spared and didn't know my neighboring Caribbean country was hit this hard.... i feel so bad...

st lucia was the hardest hit island by the hurricane .. im in st lucia n things are from being normal... most parts of the island have been badly hit and a number of persons have lost everything ...i mean everything .. the north and the south of the island is separated because the routes hav been blocked by major landslides.. so this causes a problem of getting aid to the most affected areas... wat the victims need right now is drinking water, food and in the longer run we will need major works

I am in St Lucia. The people are not complaining and not giving up to despair. This video beautifully shows the worst of the damage but most of St Lucia is whole. If you want to help, get clothes, blankets and money to the Red Cross.

@mwies3 Screw American Airlines. Haven't you noticed that CNN or no major American Network has given any coverage on St.Lucia disaster? I guess we are just a bunch of insignificant negroes stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Bardados has Rihanna, a Big super star, so although Barbados suffered no real loss, they get all the Air-time. That's the way Capitalism works. We will just have to be strong for each other and put value on our own lives. That's just the jacked up world we live in.

I am appauled and dumbfounded at the unimaginable damage done to Soufriere, one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the world. And at a time when St.Lucians were developing a national pride in boasting the carriers of such a treasure. Beautiful St.Lucia Helen of the West. But there are those who ignorantly claim the "Wrath Of God" was handed down to us. To them I say, "Tell that to the family buried under 10ft of mud in Soufriere" and then God Damn your God!

I was in St Lucia and while all airlines sent planes to pick up their passengers American Airlines did not. They left all of thier passengers stranded with no food water or electricity and didn't even give us the common courtesy to have a rep give us info on when they would fly in. If you had or still have loved ones trapped in St Lucia please call American Airlines HR and complain about them stranding passengers.

@bcpscrys114 Don't Worry I just got back and Vieux Fort wasn't that bad. They were without electricity and power for a few days but they are one of the best off. The have the boats bringing in fresh water from Martinque. Digicel is the only working phone carrier and I'm sure they are just having trouble getting communications out ( I know I did) Just dont worry Vieux Fort is fine.

Wow!! Didn't hear about this untill Monday evening. My brother called me to deliver the bad news. Most of my family lives in Canaries. Thank God all of them are OK; But for how long? All roads, water lines, and telecoms are down. Even though i'm safe and dry (yet cold) here in New Jersey, my heart goes out to my countrymen. God Bless.

@KemetHeart My Brother keeps me updated. He has not mentioned anything about deaths in Canaries, but Soufriere wasn't so lucky. He told me that there was this one particular house that got swept away in a mudslide with a family of four inside...all four perished.
