ahh thats when the gauge starts to matter. get 11 gauges or thicker and youre good.

When I play just the top string in A#, it's really loose (obviously) but it's cause I use D'addario Super Lights rofl, and it still works tone wise. But uh yeah, what guage would you reccomend to handle drop A # well and still be able to do standard tuning?

id say 11 gauge. theyre not too loose when you tune down that low, and you can still tune all the way up to standing eadgbe tuning and they sound fine.
