This is The BEST Lipped Performanced Of Mariah. Gosh the lipped parts were so clear , her real voice was strained as hell and she constantly went flat. Music To My Ears. It's impossible to strain and struggle as hell like 3:05, then belt clear E5 and F5 with vibrato or sing clear notes in head voice and whistle register with freedom and no strain. Mariah is queen of lipping and we all know it ;)
@iiAmitx3 Everyone sings better later. But I still think whistle is lipped, too. She used this whistles in many other performances. It sounded exactly the same. It's just pre-recorded I believe. It's impossible to whistle clear notes when you strain in chest at not so high notes. I'm a singer and I know whistle register is very sensitive. Sometimes I can sing effortlessy in chest, but I can't whistle properly. That's why i don't believe that it's live.

Highest whistle is a D7. And imho it was lipped. eventually pre-recorded. Look how she strains from 2:58 at D5, and she than can't hold good C5, but then she 'did' awesome slide with wibrato E5-F5 (unbelievable, great playback!). Her voice is so strained and unclear here. Maybe she wasn't warmed up, but it's a matter of fact that she lipped belts above D5 and whistle part, cos it' was so clear when she strained lower notes. I'm not a hater, but let's be honest. Don't be so naive.

blahblahBLAH ! Mariah is such a PROFESSIONAL ! She really sings here heart out ! Though this is a little raspy (cause it was early as fuck ) , it was still amazing and full of difficult techniques , Mariah is very talented & the BEST female singer of our time . . in my opinion !

just to let everyone know the reason why she looks so depressed is because at this time she was going through one of the toughest parts of her life, losing her first child and this song is so emotional, i bet it didnt help. i give Mariah Carey all the credit in the world for the person she is, she hasnt changed a bit other than the fact she is getting better. Even in this song, she lip synced the whistles and the last belts. You can check that by the quality of the live version and studio version. How can she be straining and sounding so raspy in the easy part, the beginning, and in the difficult part, she does it so easily and clearly? I'm really disappointed. She needs a vocal coach.

Highest whistle is a D7. And imho it was lipped. eventually pre-recorded. Look how she strains from 2:58 at D5, and she than can't hold good C5, but then she 'did' awesome slide with wibrato E5-F5 (unbelievable, great playback!). Her voice is so strained and unclear here. Maybe she wasn't warmed up, but it's a matter of fact that she lipped belts above D5 and whistle part, cos it' was so clear when she strained lower notes. I'm not a hater, but let's be honest. Don't be so naive.

I think the miscarriage didn't help, but still she has some big problems singing live now, she's very often flat, and when she isn't, she's lipsyncing. It really hurts me to say this, but i think it's the truth.
