I've also stood at the furthest end of the retaining walls that support the roadways that run above railroad beds while passenger trains are moving past them.

The best part about this is that the train is less than 3 feet from me but since the retaining wall is 2 feet thick and as much as 50 feet long nobody on the train can see me unless they're sitting in the little area in the very back of the very last car looking backwards. I've done this a number of times.

Now I must tell you that I was sitting ON THE GROUND with the wall blocking the engineers sightline but when the train passed by me it was less than 5 feet away from my body. I can remember how heavy the blast of wind that was pushed to the side of the train hit my head when the train had passed just beyond the end of that wall. I figured there wouldn't be any blast because of all of the open space in front of me. Boy was I wrong. The stunt was funny. The blast of air was scary.

I was less than 5 feet from a train that was moving almost this fast one night in 2004 or 2005. I was sitting on the furthest end of the barrier wall on the roadway overpass at Parsonage Rd. and Lincoln Hwy. in Edison NJ. Behind the 7-11 and the laundromat. A southbound train was just leaving the Metropark Station heading towards Trenton NJ. I sat right at the end of the wall over Parsonage Rd.

the original uploader is an indian train spotter, he always rotates the camera fast one the rear of the train has passed him. This video is not sped up, it is the Bhopal Shatabdi express, which has a top speed of 150km/h.

India is in Asia. But I meant that most of commenters are from USA which do not have many fast trains. So it might be surpise for most Americans that trains can travel faster than 60 miles per hour. I am not sure, but I think even India has better passanger service than America. :D

The thing is, this is in a country where they believe totally in fate, and that they won;t die unless they are supposed to (which explains the many dfatal road accidents). BTW, thw train is an intercity express and was doing approx 125mph there. They are just lucky not to get sucked under!
