  • I think it's LANG may yer LUM reek(that's scots) or is it different in ulster scots?

  • My moms ancesters hails from County Cork, my friend's from County Carey. Today, her Orange Irish Tabby cat was hit by a car and died in 10 seconds. Because of our mutual heritage, we'll be holding a wake for our departed feline. Lam may your Lang reck (Long may your fire burn), Laddie Marmelade. Eirinn go Brach

  • @goducks20101

Lam may your Lang reck? That sounds more like Ulster-scots...

  • @MacCeapaigh1916 Don't know one way other; just my way of sending a nice cat to Kitty Heaven. Tip a pint regardless.

  • I don't think this is Sean O'Riada , I think it's The Chieftains , in the O'Riada version he plays the harpsicord

  • I started to head bang when the uilleann pipes came in XD

  • @manormaid let me know if you start a mosh pit or crowd surf. erin go bragh.... :-)

  • yeay cool music!!!!!!!

  • o riada.... he Understood....

  • whats this song actualy called

  • i have some irish in me :D

  • I don't know why this is tagged as Orthodox Celts, since they had absolutely nothing to do with Sean O'Riada, most of them were probably five years old or something when he passed away, and this definitely sounds like Ceoltóirí Cuhalann to me.

  • very good song.

  • Good people of the island,

I upload this music because it is a great tune, a beautiful sound and an inspiritiv thing. Please stop arguing about politics.

I come from Balkan and I understand why you are talking about that but it is just not the place.

    Thank you, and cheers!

  • @nemajeniko Friend, I`m relaxing and enjoying the music, but our music and culture is totally inter-linked and that includes our politics. If we want to leave our brain at home, we would listen to Britney Spears.

  • @nemajeniko kinnda strange , I am from the Balkan and I feel the same connection you were talking about ... damn that music is so great ^^

  • @nemajeniko You should see my Island now there are few young people such as myself and yourself that actually listen to this music anymore my friend come to Limerick and we'll have a pint

  • @nemajeniko

    Свака част сународниче. Сјајан видео!

  • Stop talking about struggle for once and enjoy the music!

  • Fuck sake why does every video that is remotely Irish have to turn into a debate about Anglo-Irish relations. Could people please refrain from commenting about the IRA, UVF, Catholicism and/or Protestantism, the 'troubles' and 'struggles' in the North and just listen to this wonderful piece of music and comment on that instead?

  • @anniemb17 I agree with you! They'll never be resolve with dis attitudes - Jesus Mary and Joseph, it's the freakin' 21st century and the feud continues!!

  • man this toon was back in my days of ireland a hit

  • So beautiful, love this music, love Celtic music. I couldn't be more prouder of my Celtic roots. Eireann go bragh!

  • I really love Irish Music! Greetings from México

  • me school is named after him gealscoil Uí riada

  • Whoops, i was here a few hours ago and i'm back again - sounds even better. Must be the Jamesons.

  • My ancestors followed the Ui Neill from InisEoghain through north and south Derry into Tyrone and onwards. We were at their side in hundreds of skirmishes and battles against the English .....and you know what - we would do it today! Ui Neill Abu! Remember where you came from and stand up! We are not American, we are not Brits, we are Celtic, Gaelic, Irish and free!

  • @ShaneAnDiomais Where are yer sources for those fantastical claims eh? Why the fuck would you attack the british today anyway haha? And where are you actually from?

  • @benwaddelling maybe because they divide our country and occupy part of our national territory.

  • @benwaddelling

I can give you dozens of good reasons for an Irish person to be hostile to the english. Of course that doesn't mean we want to attack britain, but the reasons are still there.

  • @MacCeapaigh1916 I can give 3 reasons Ireland doesn't need to worry about it. 1. Irish women are prettier 2. Irish beer is better 3. Thin Lizzy is better ... 4. See number 1. Boldly spoken from a Yank. Erin Go Bragh .. :-)

  • its sad, i once had a five leaf clover, but i took off one of the leaves so i could have a 4 leaf clover, i was deemed an idiot

  • magic...few pints of guinness....what a country...

  • @synthpathetic i agree totally

  • proper war cry bodhran playing. cant beat it, great tune

  • My blood has never felt so Green!

  • I disslike Englishmen but I have the deepest respect for Irish people. I think Irish people are among my top 3 people from Europe! Met a few Irish and all of them have been great!

  • @sorrypapawxz Most irish dont share this hate on the English anymore, i have many english friends myself, it isnt their fault in my opinion but I cant judge fellow countrymen, especially older people, who have a certain disfavour in front of the english. But anyway, thank you for your regards, it is always good to hear words such as yours mate

  • @alteye1 Well said. I am an Irish Republican who spent a considerable number of years in prison during our struggle in the North. I now live in London. Almost all of my friends are English. Good and decent people. The distinction between Irish and English people is intellectually and morally specious – the stuff of small-minded Irish & English nationalist bigots. Incidentally, many English people put their neck on the line to support our struggle in the North.

  • @montpelier42d Define "struggle"?

  • @benwaddelling Define it for yourself.

  • @montpelier42d Well I'm just a little confused. I wanted to know what you meant by struggle.

  • @benwaddelling Struggle is whatever you take it to mean.

  • man this music is soo cool jah rastafaria love to all cultural music...its really soothing

  • Can listen to this tune over and over again. Thanks for posting

  • whats the tune

  • Marcshlua Ui Neill - or "O'Neill's March" in English

  • Horslips made a great job of this reel :)

  • yes the cheiftains-they use this tune well ...and full credit to sean o'riada!. i love it

  • @dalymc- this is the original ,but a re-arranged version is on (i think) chieftains 5...(could be 3 or 4 lol)but I'm at the end of St Patrick's day so....a little worse the wear...

  • i have FINALLY found it!!...after months of searching!! :D love this tune!

  • @xxsweetlittlerosexx Yeah its a cool one, I luv it when the pipes come in

  • I really like this

  • thought that this was the chieftains. who is sean o raidio

  • sean o'riada founded "ceolteoiri chualann" and when he died they disbanded and some of the band members formed "the chieftains"...

  • brilliant :) he was a genius
