yeah, for real, try playing the whole song at the right speed. you get lost in a bass line like this, so many opens, and the change has a different rhythm, throws you all off. i learned it too, but i don't have the bass muff so it doesn't sound as cool.

I've done the same thing as da4500bass mentioned, but on double bass, which quite frankly is alot harder.

I'm not saying that muse is bad, i love them, but the bass-line on this song is said to be much harder than it realy is...

Yeah, the bass isn't hard for this song. It sounds like it's hard but it only took me like 3-5 minutes to get the main riff, and the rest is pretty simple.

But that's what Chris does, makes his riffs sound really, really good, even if they aren't the hardest or fastest.

You should try playing this tune, it'll burn your fingers for sure. But once you get the hang of it, and play it for a couple hours straight, haha, then it becomes pretty easy. But it really is the most physically challenging bass line I've ever played.

honestly, and i'm not trying to sound proud or anything, but i've had to walk longer, faster bass parts in jazz on several occasion. the only real challenge is keeping focus after the groove is established for me.... and focusing sucks with a.d.d.
