  • He suffered from heart disease and deep leg vein thrombosis, according to officials, who ruled D's Nov. 8 death as "natural.”

Had a blood clot in his lung that "most likely formed during an extended airplane ride," Craig Harvey, chief of the coroner's office, said. D had recently returned from Europe, where he performed at a Michael Jackson tribute concert.

  • This is crazy

  • @UltimateZeitGeist1 Thank you for you great comment, it lets me know that my reporting has brought new information to the world.

  • @comsidy search the song NOW THAT WE FOUND LOVE by Heady D good luck !

  • @comsidy Heavy D (AKA) Dwight Arrington Myers (May 24, 1967 - November 8, 2011) was born in Jamaica and moved to NY (Mount Vernon) as a young child. He rose to prominence as a rap artist and had a devoted following.

  • My nephew was a fan. Though I wasn't much of a fan he seemed like a really nice person. R.I.P.

  • R.I.P DREAD

  • So Sad, so young, Your are in my prayers

  • I cant find anywhere that mentions what he died from :( Dang he was only 44

  • @bluepeas510 A close friend said he had been recently battling pneumonia, going in and out of the hospital for it. But we will soon learn if that was the reason after the medical report.

  • He did not break into the music industry with the song living large.. he has been out since 1987..

  • @wparch Per wikipedia: Heavy D & the Boyz were the first group signed to Uptown Records; their debut, Living Large, was released in 1987

  • @ComedianStevieMack you said with his "record" livin large...it wasn't a record.. that was the name of the album... his first track released in NY... was "Money Earning Mt Vernon".. that put him and Mt. Vernon on the map.. Especially in N.Y. because when it came to hip hop .. all you knew was Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn.. no beef though... I respect the dudes work also!!!.. Thanx man!!!

  • @wparch I said record because I’m from the old school, that’s what we called albums, we called singles 45s and later called them singles. Big Tyme was my favorite record (album, CD, Cassette) of them all, that’s the one I partied to most.

  • we will miss you!

  • heavy d will truley be miss

  • @divagirl2409 Yes he will. He’s one of the good ones, great person all around.

  • @ComedianStevieMack He was truly a legend! I'll love his music forever.

  • Sad news.

  • @janna078 His music was practically the soundtrack to my life back in the 80’s, this is a sad occasion for sure.
