This music definitely needed to be in 2 parts. You have all the music from the 2 player games as well. I remember the cheat codes too, that got you to a menu screen where you could choose to start from any world you wanted.

I value your opinion my friend, but here are my minor problems with 2. I think the level designs in 2 are over complicated at times, Oil Ocean and Metropolis instantly spring to mind. There are too many irritating zones like Casino nights...too much going on. The music is immesne dont get me wrong but Sonic 1 music is far supperior in terms of originality. Thing is it also depends on what one you played first and what holds the best memories for you.

it took me almost twice as long to get all the chaos emeralds and get my first look at the original supersonic.

I know what you mean, I finally beat it like a year ago and I gotta say I felt really proud about it. Now I'm trying to collect ALL the chaos emeralds which I never bothered as a kid but now I'm trying to get them all so that I can look at the original Super Sonic.

But... it sure is taking me a hell of a lot of time to get those emeralds!! So far... I could only get 4 T-T it's so hard!! And Tails can be a little annoying, he keeps losing those rings!!! T__T

I also have both, and you're right Sega did have some good exclusives, but Nintendo had better imo. Super Mario World 1 and 2, Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda A Link To The Past, Killer Instinct (my fav fighter to this day), Super Star Wars, Super Contra, Street Fighter as well as the superior versions of Mortal Kombat. Not to mention a WAY better controller. Don't make me mention the epic fails otherwise known as 'Sega CD' and 'Sega 32X' *Shudder*. Sega have never been as good as Ninty imo...

When did I mock Sonic CD? I meant that the CD (mainly the library)was an overall fail considering the price. Not to mention aesthetically and ergonomically. And when I mentioned those games before I'm not talking about iconic game characters, I mean the games in question themselves and their quality. BTW, Killer Instinct OWNED then and it still owns today :D. Excellent graphics, sound and controls and a top notch combo system which was better than anything at the time. Ahhhh.... I miss Rare. :(

Sonic was better than mario in almost every way. here are some examples:

1:sonic spins in the air and destroys enimies using his spiky back, while mario uses his fat ass to crush enimies to death.

2:Super mario brothers had ONE song you listened to throughout the game,while sonic had a helluva lot of songs to listen to, and their all worth downloading.

3:The graphics between super mario bros and sonic were in no comparison.sonics was easily better.

Allow me to refute...

1. Mario used a variety of items at his disposal; fireballs, raccoon tail, cape, hammers, etc.

2. Even if you're referring to the early games, there was always at least one overworld theme, an underground theme, and an underwater theme and they were catchy enough to be tolerated all throughout.

3. Why does this even matter? You're comparing Sega Genesis' graphics with SNES (or possibly NES). That doesn't affect gameplay at all. Good graphics =/= better game overall.

Who really cares about what the games were about? Neither Mario nor Sonic had much of a plot to speak about (I'm speaking of the 2-d games). The gameplay is all that matters. Both games have their own unique twists on the genre. So why argue?

Another classic. Everyone here remembers when this game came out how Sega/Everyone marvled at the speed at which sonic ran. BLEW away the NES as far as graphics and such. I was soo amazed by Sega, then the SNES came out and beat Sega. But Sonic is still one of the best Genesis games of all time. Tails was a bitch though.
