  • I actually prefer the old Flake adverts. Recent Cadbury adverts seem so pretentious. . .

  • Fabulous imagery!

  • Comment removed

  • it's so amazingly beautiful - and pretty radical for a cadbury ad as it doesn't show a scantily clad woman writhing around while she tastes a brown stick

  • This is gross, looks like some kind of lung or intestinal infection, or a microorganism.

  • copied or not, I can't deny its beautiful............... but no, its still a copycat

  • ALEXANDER MCQUEEN DID THIS FRST WITH KATE MOSS................

  • No where near as good as the spot they dumped before this. It's hard to find but well worth it. Jonathan Glazer directed it.

  • they stole the idea fgrom mcqueens hologram:(

  • the advert reminds me of sitting on the toilet waiting for something to happen.

  • I think this advert just misses the boat, beautiful yes, but bring back the old flake girls..

  • I think this advert just misses the boat, beautiful yes, but bring back the old flake girls..

  • im in LOVE with the song. anyone know who is it by. i want to learn it on piano

  • lol WTF

  • I don't know whether they did this on purpose, but this is really similar to Alexander McQueen's Kate Moss hologram...

  • Love the music, love the advert, love the chocolate :)

  • ok to be fair i LOVE this commercial however i dont think u know it fits what its about but it is a very good commicel.

  • I thought it was a jellyfish advert

  • Screw this, LONG LIVE MCQUEEN. <3

  • hahahaha. Losers. It looks like intestines. RIP McQueen, never mind these morons.

  • THEY STOLE ALEXANDER MCQUEENS BRILLIANT IDEA. GOOD THING HE DID IS WAYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER THAN YOU LOSERS! RIP ALEXANDER YOU ARE GREATLY MISSED!

  • This is awesome music i love it!

  • this idea was totally stolen from Alexander Mcqueen's brilliant mind.

    R.I.P Lee McQ!

  • OK, so the song is 'What Must Be Done' by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis but when I listened to it sounded different, do you know where I could get the proper advert version?

  • SOYLENT FLAKE IS PEOPLE!

  • This song is very relaxing reminds me a bit like the music from the Sven Goran Eriksson Kleenex Advert!

  • This is disgusting. looks like a parasite in the guts (Taenia). Worst food commercial I have ever seen.

  • Y the fuck did they coppy Alexander McQueenz idea? Screw them 4 making fun of artwork as legendary as them...

  • the funny thing is im eating a flake now haha

  • does anyone know the music to this ad?

  • Thumbs up if you thought she was a jellyfish.

  • Its not a rip off, more of an homage and Fallon most certainly shouldn't be embarrassed by this. Its advertising FFS who hasn't borrowed something from someone else?

  • massive rip off of the beautiful Nick Knight hologram with Kate Moss for Alexander McQueen... Fallon you should be embarrassed....

  • Reminds me of Kate Moss' hologram appearance for Alexander McQueen. But not in a rip-off kind of way. :)

  • Jellyfish!

  • truly amazing, fantasic :-)) 5*****

  • @MidsunCelebration ..This is so amazing..like some kind of sea creature...

  • I LOVE this commercial the music makes me so home sick =(

  • It is an original composition for the advert and you can't buy it or anything. It is quite easy to play on the piano and trust me I'm terrible at playing by ear but it isn't hard to pick up.

  • beautiful Antony Price dress!!

  • beautiful Antony Price dress!!

  • doesn't matter what it's for, its a beautiful advert

  • A chocolate bar???? OMFG =.=

  • It isn't a rip off, it is the same creative/director who did McQueen's show therefore his aesthetic and the dress is by Anthony Price who taught Alexander McQueen as a student...

  • I love this advert <3 X3 it's like a jellyfish

  • this is amazing advert, Alexander Mcqueen used the the idea of a hologram in is catwalk many years ago, it was a hologram of kate Moss was very beautiful.

  • wow

  • Love this advert and the music, glued to the screen when i first saw it

  • 1st - song was wrong - Coldplays "Yellow" would be better.

2nd - the original sexual imagery was better! Bring back the pretty girls inserting long phallic foodstuffs in their mouths!

  • @watchesyou yellow is shit, this song has feeling

  • its ossum how her hair blends in along wid her complextion.

does anyone know what material that might b by any chance?

sumone in class said it must b silk, but i dont think it looks like it....?

  • alexander mcqueen is the true visionary, the true genius-- i cant believe the description of this video doesn't credit him.

  • the fuck??? its just a chocolate bar

  • Well...that was intense.

  • At first I thought this was some kind of sea creature. I now have a burning urge to eat a Flake.

  • @missawesome16 And I have a burning urge to eat a sea creature!

  • @ScreamOnScreen Ahaha ;)

  • This is unbearably stupid. So, Flakes are derived from Rapunzel?

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THOUGHT THIS A PERFUME ADVERT AT FIRST!

  • @oxPonyGirlxo

i can understand that advertising a perfume would be difficalt through visual mean but they realy are wank! just aload of individulas in black and white staring into the camera in smart clothing like a nonce while some subtle lesbo tone whispers some frence shit. piss off.

  • @XRIVAL360

    Okaay?

    LMFAAOO.

  • @oxPonyGirlxo

    ya, nerd rage. stfu

  • Alexander McQueen rip-off. Shame on you chocolate delicatessen.

  • at first i thought it was for a fragrance because it was abstract, and then i thought maybe a wheat product, like hovis gone upmarket.

  • fuck sake, this would put me off buying flakes, like a load of maggots squirming before your eyes...

  • i got to say this is the most Borning Advert mad by Cadbury disappoint in the advert guess it because its not English anymore so maybe Cadburys have rubbish ads now .

  • at first I thought it was a jellyfish , then ham (1 sec before they revealed it was flake).

    LOOL :P

  • i always thought it was intestine lining stuff o.o

  • WOW~ Hermoso!

  • i just made a lesson on how to play this song, the exact one.

  • total and utter shite, the old ones may be sexist advertising but pure class,

    yanks have spoiled cadburys already

  • i wouldnt be so fed up of this ad if msn video stopped advertising it before their videos...although when i first saw it i thought it was awesome

  • So McQueen...

  • I don't why , but my skin crawls when watching this. It looks like tripe o_o

  • pure alexander mc queen / kate moss rip off... blatant in fact

  • @aTOgeNiqua shit yes! My first thought.

  • Not to keen on the advert, its a bit misleading from the product they are trying to sell. A flake has no simalarity to a lady in a long yellow dress. I thought it was an advert for Perfum, and i think it would make more sense if it were than a flake!

  • @shakunkadunk Listen carefully, it is NOT 'what must be done!' - that piece is from 'Assassination of Jesse James'. It is not even similar to it.

  • @masato01724 its the same song but a re-recording of it, search youtube and there is footage of him recording it . . . .

  • this is so similar to akira kosemura, i thought it was him, both beautiful piano players though :)

  • this advert is amazing! my baby girl cant take her eyes off the screen!!!!!

  • even tho the advert itself is a bit boring and stupid the music is amazing reminds me of my fav classical musician olafur arnalds

  • Most weirdest yet most hauntingly beautiful advert on tv. i had no idea wat it was at first i thot waas mad jellyfish but then realised and realise dhow artistic and beautiful advert is !!!

music too is peaceful- from film soundtrack Assasination of jesse james xxx

  • the music at the beginning reminds me of 'new moon'

  • @PeggaHills Same here!

  • Whatever bad things people say about this advert, I think its amazing, it's one of just a few adverts I've seen that actually makes me want to go and buy the product. I want a flake. And I want it now.

  • THE SONG IS 'WHAT MUST BE DONE' BY NICK CAVE AND WARREN ELLIS!! thumbs up so people dont have to keep asking!!!!

  • @shakunkadunk THANK YOU! God i've been looking for agesss!

  • @shakunkadunk Actually it's not. That piece is from 'Assassination of Jesse James'.

  • @shakunkadunk its not actually. its a piece of music they made especially for the advert but its very close.

  • @linnybidder19 its a re-record of the song but it was made especially for this advert haha

  • @shakunkadunk Um, no it isn't.

  • @shakunkadunk it's a song by Icelandic artist "Ólafur Arnalds - 3055" !!!

  • @piens33 just listened to it, its a great song but its not the same

  • @shakunkadunk its a bitching song i love it.

  • @shakunkadunk its a diffrent song.

  • @Princess46721 no its not, its just been re-done for the advert

  • @shakunkadunk

    this isnt the song

  • what song is this ?!

  • Comment removed

  • this dress always reminds me of tripe. one of the stupidest ads ive seen for chocolate and only memorable for how rubbish it is not for the product. you should sack your creative team flake!

  • reminds me of maggots swarming over a dead rat, nice one flake (Y)

  • looks like a copy of alexander mcqueen f/w 2006 hologram of Kate Moss. guess they figure he can't sue since he's dead.

  • does anyone know the song?

  • @carnivalgrins96 its adapted from a song called 'what must be done' by nick cave and warren ellis :)

  • does anyone now the song?

  • It definitely says tripe to me. Looks just like tripe, no doubt about it.

  • hmmm, it says tripe and squid ink to me.....

  • she looked like she was draped in tripe...how was this good marketing?

  • ...

    it's fucking chocolate

  • @NdDrummer9

    thnx dude!

  • RIP OFF of McQueen's 2006 hologram with Kate Moss.

    RIP OFF!

Cheap crap chocolate bar. Instead of eating it, it ends up blowing away in the wind!

  • I really don't like this advert. When you're trying yo sell chocolate, why would you remind your viewers of tripe?

  • Comment removed

  • @ChazAndBex Totally with you on this one

  • As most people are hailing it as the most wonderful ad ever, can we just remember that this campaign cost £3.5m and it's for a 40p chocolate bar for girls. Ok, cost isn't my only issue here. What about that this looks like a piece of tripe cooking in a pot of boiling water, or that it's a direct rip off of the Kate Moss' advert for Alexander McQueen? Please bring back some sexy strumpet floating through a waterfall on a canoe with chocolate all over her face.

  • @Miketam71 40p? you live in the 90's or something? No chocolates that cheap anymore!!!!

  • I don't get it. What does this have to do with a chocolate bar?.

  • Does anyone know how to play this on the keyboard? What chords? (: x

  • This is really beautiful, reminds me of a coral on a sea reef.

  • I think this may be the single most beautiful 60 seconds of film I have ever seen.

  • im gutted this music is an adaptation of 'What must be done' by Nick Cave because i love that music, but i wanted this to be its own.

  • I love this ad i jsut saw it on tv there (not for the first time thow) dose anyone know the name of the peace of music or is it njust made for this ad?

  • @wowhorde12 The song is adapted for the advertisement, but the original piece is called "What Must Be Done" by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. You can hear how it's been adapted, but this part isn't in it.

  • sinve Kraft took over Cadbury's ithought they were advertising cheese strings

  • does anyone know the name of the piece of music in the background?? and who's it by??

  • what are the piano chords for it??

  • @tomtomtomt5 It's 2 chords, if you can't work it out you don't deserve to know.

  • @JorSex

Fool, there are more than two chords. Please keep your uneducated responses out of the comment section.

    Thanks.

  • @SpearsProductions

    Yeah okay, Billy Joel.

Thank you for your awesome youtube comment policing, you are making this site so much better with your well thought out and straight-off-the-bat replies.

People really enjoy reading your comments.

p.s. the word "uneducated" has been used on youtube as an insult to the extent that it is now redundant, get a thesaurus and keep on trying :)

  • Now thats making an effort.

  • i hopethey release the song on its own... its so pretty

  • Adapted from 'What Must Be Done - Warren Ellis'

  • At first I thought it might've been made by Chris Cunningham...

  • hi , apparently the piano piece was adapted for the advert but the original piece is called WHAT MUST BE DONE by Nick Cave and Warren ellis from the album The Assasinationof Jesse james , still just as brilliant , love it

  • HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THIS PEICE?!?! anyone know what its called?

  • what's the piano piece called?

  • better than some american tv ads paying people to say: wow amazing! this sort of thing actually wants me to buy their product since it shows thought, care, and a desire to go out of their way to please the customer with something as charming as this. when people say what has this got to do with chocolate, the links are there it's just not on served to you nice and simply on a plate, plain and obvious so you don't have to actually stretch your mind and think about anything like the dumbass youare

  • they dont sell it in NY ):

  • THIS ADVERT MAKES ME SAD I LOVE IT

  • WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH CHOCOLATE !!!!! ITS A STUPID WOMAN IN A HORRIBLE DRESS AND SUM DUDE PLAYIN THE PIANO

  • @chakotay2007 its very creative though don't you think? Plus adverts don't have to be related to be effective. Saying that there are many relations between this advert and flake!

I'm pretty sure the dress is meant to be very light and convoluted and it's movement is like the movement in all previous flake adverts except it's fabric and not chocolate. As far as the music? It is slow and relaxing and therefore will cause people to sub-consciously associate flake with those emotions.

  • this made me feel sick when i first saw it, she looks like tripe, it would look so much more enticing if it was made of brown silk or satin. The adverts where so much better, they made you think of chocolate crumbling and melting in our mouth after you had sexily peeled down the wrapper. Go back to basics!

  • Glad they are considering suing, this isn't a tribute, its plain cloning.. taking Alexander McQueen's genius. It seem's that his death provided a loophole for the usage of this, idea I hope there case is heard.

  • ewww. looks like some kind of sea-sponge. not very appealing. what the hell were you thinking, weirdo flake creative artisty people???

  • I don't get the connection , she is like a scary yellow jelly fish who turns into a Flake bar ? all beautiful but what is going on , totally irrelevant to the product. The old adverts were the best , sensual and enticing and just as stunning , in a different way !

  • This advert would not exist without the beautiful creative mind of Alexander McQueen ~ RIP ....the fashion world misses you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I just saw this advert on TV. Now I want a flake.

  • i get shivers every time i hear this music.<3

  • whats the song/music? its so beautiful x

  • @LadyMSpice its a song from schindlers list, not sure what its called though, sorry!

  • WHATS THE SONG!

lol me and my mum just say this ad and where like "is it for a car?", "A perfume?" "a new fashion range"

flake.... well thats a buzz kill XD

  • @rustbucket3000

    Warran Ellis - Commisioned Track

    :')

  • @PaganPERFECTION

    thanx XD

  • I Can't Stand Things LOike This. Is It Some Sort Of Phobia?

  • I really wanna know the chords for this!

  • my last post i sent i made a mistake face is first sorry

  • this advert is very dramatic for a chocolat bar lol but all well its a lovely and embraceful advert i rember my face suculunt bite into that flakey chocolatness of a bar it tasted so wonderful the way it just wrapped around my tastebuds abousoloutly divine

  • WHY?

  • I thought it was a jellyfish for ages.

  • @SunshineKidTube I thought the same too... I was like what is this advert?

  • Comment removed

  • i love how it keeps you guessing then reveals itself at the end great advert! its obviously worked as its made the audience want to watch and find out what its about!..plus its different to them loud annoying adverts you got on tv right now!

  • what is this song? does anyone know ?

  • @synchrogirl95 Warren Ellis - What Must Be Done

but the only one I've found is by Nick Cave as well. so I think that's it :)

  • @synchrogirl95 wait, yeah It is Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - What Must Be Done :D enjoy

  • Wish I could have been in the room when the marketers came up with that, so I could bitchslap them. Do we really need to see something totally irrelevant for a full minute for the sake of a second of seeing the actual product? Whatever happened to adverts that had someone hold up a bar and go "Behold, it tastes nice!"

  • @Shindai I get you, like the cilit BANG adverts!

  • @Shindai

Well, it's not "totally irrelevant". The dress resembles how light and airy the flake is. The fabric resembles the ripples in the actual chocolate, and the woman is keeping the tradition of a Flake advert alive. Flake adverts always have a hot woman. + The music is very slow and emotional, so the viewer assumes that you associate these emotions with a Flake. Since sadness is the most common emotion, they are hoping that you will buy the Flake when you feel sad.

    It's very smart.
