William Wallace had another enemy to deal with. His own people! The Nobles! They were governed by greed and power over their own people. Scotland reminds me of the ancient Greeks. When they were city states they were divided and weak. When they united under Alexander the Great, they became both mighty and free. Scotland, you have your Alexander. William Wallace! William Wallace touched me so deep that I went on a journey to both England and Scotland to explore the real history of the real truth of William Wallace. I will say this now. The movie Braveheart is not a great example of historical truth. There were parts the did ring true in the movie, but for the most part, the story was bent. What the movie did bring out was the fact that Sir William Wallace was fearless and a force that Kind Edward 1 found difficult to deal with. See last posting.

I am, and live in America. Yet after seeing the movie "Braveheart", I was moved. I, as the rest of my country-men, suffered under the English yoke in the last part of the 18th century and the early part of the 19th century. Unknown to most Scottish people, William Wallace is a great hero to us also. His love of country, his love of his people, and his fight for freedom, burns in the torch of liberty and freedom! depends on what you call a loss, we lost the same amount of men as the english but they won the battle .

our real loss was when the other scots left the battle field and let there scottish brothers to die , the scotts could have won stirling but they were betrayed by the rich land owners who had two much to loose . people are more loyal to money and power than they are to there countrymen
