  • Is the tuning of his guitar normal and what chords exactly is he using?

  • I discovered Staind thanks to this video. Fred Durst has been behind many bands supporting and producing for 2+ decades. Go Aaron and Fred!

  • "I'm feelin' those lighters"...Fred Durst is a d-bag! Thumbs up if u agree

  • shut the fuck up fred

  • outstanding!

  • One person has never been lied to cheated on or left all alone in the world

  • But Brake the Cycle didn't come out until 2000+ right? how is this 1999?

  • @TheCaciqueLempira This song came out before the album. Aaron Lewis wrote it on the tour. It got good vibes so they placed it on the upcoming album.

  • @SolidRaider6 AHH nice :D

  • @SolidRaider6 Aaron only played the song cause Fred would help him out on stage, so quit the fucking hate on Fred people, it's 2012 man.

  • Biloxi! This is the real mother fuckin deal y'all! Fred reppin the deep south my nigga. Haha.

  • @mfayard21 iam from Picayune

  • that song reminds me of my ex gf and it makes me cry everytime that i hear it and im really not that touchy guy :)

  • All the times that I've cried

All this wasted, it's all inside

And I feel, all this pain, stuffed it down

    It's back again

And I lie here in bed, all alone, I can't mend

And I feel tomorrow will be okay

    <3

  • @p0rn0rphan thats the best part of this awesome song...all alone, i can't mend..

  • This is the absolute first appearance of this song; and Aaron kinda wrote it on the spot. Show some respect, cause historically, it's Fred Durst's name that gave the song the required exposure

  • why the fuck couldnt that faggots dildo with the black cap turned backwards not shut his trap when aaron was singing!

  • !!!1999!!!

  • What can you say other than Aaron Lewis kick's ass live?

  • What can you say oyher than Aaron Lewis kick's ass live?

  • @savannahjohnc He is the real mother fucking deal!!!

  • aarons voice is so good near the end thats some power u can tell he means what hes singing give me goose bumps lol

  • BILOXI!!

  • Now this may sound crazy, but if you don't like fred durst in this video, go watch the ones without him.

  • STAIND :DDD

  • Man, Do I miss MtvX.

  • I just LOVE Aaron's beautiful voice....this band is AMAZING <3

  • no hd... you dont watch this video for the hd... you watch it for the absolute amazing power in the words.. and how great it sounds live

  • wheres da HD?

  • no dislikes. now thats good music. if you ever come across a song wtith no dislikes.. thats a good song. regardless. like this is you like REAL MUSIC!!! see how many people like true music instead of gay pop and rap

  • Song reminds me of my brother and I....

  • theres nobody like aaron lewis!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like this rendition of "Outside" WAY better than the studio version on "Break The Cycle." This still wouldn't compel me to buy any tickets for any FVT shows. I am NOT & NEVER will be a Fred Durst or Limp Bizkit fan. I might go see a Staind show at my state's fair provided FD isn't at that show.

Classic Staind > Today's rock music!

  • What if Staind joined OzzFest in 1999 instead of the FVT which will ALWAYS take a backseat to OzzFest? There is NO major rock fest bigger than OzzFest. Absolutely NONE & Fred Durst knows it!!

BTW this is the only song I like from FVT.

  • @bucky468 em download is way bigger than ozzfest

  • raw ...... = best version period

  • i agree.... this is the best version i have heard of this song and will come back to listen to whenever i feel like i need to hear real music...

  • this is the real motherfackin deal yoww

  • I prefer this version most of all. You hear such Raw, emotional Power from his voice here. In the Studio version, He just sounds dull. It's like in the Studio version, they put the power into the Guitar. This version, best of all.

  • i have never care about durst words... y know... it's part of a live song... unexpected changes.... maybe his comment wasnt the most smart thing to say at that moment but who cares?? i still love the song... and this is the best live version of this song in my opinion.. peace bro's let the hate creep somewhere else

  • Aaron just rocks it

  • this is my favourite acoustic song ever. this version is just has so much strength emotionally, even moreso than the original.

  • Actually Fred wasn't there.

  • although i was 2 when this tour happened, i actually remember this song more than any other staind song.

  • This brings me back.

  • This just ROCKS!!!

  • I got to see the family value tour in 1999 in pittsburgh pa at the civic arena and i will honestly say that it was the best show i have ever been too.

  • this song fucking rocks

  • anything with durst is great. He makes this song so special.

  • this song always brings tears to my eyes.

  • what a beautiful song to be ruined by the moron talking about feeling the f*@3in lighters... the real motha deal .... lol what an idiot!!!!

  • This could be the perfect song?

  • I like it a lot!!! Durst is a great singer..

  • yea yea family valious stoopid fuck

  • @rexhols

man.. I aint the grammar police or anything but pls..when you wanna post something..make it easy for heads to be able to read. A full stop here n there or at least a google on a word that you are not sure of spelling would make others bother to actualy read through properly of what you said, instead of doing what i did and giving up after a 19 jummbled words. peace if you're liking this vid tho man n good vibes..on the whole.

  • Fred Durst discovered Aaron Lewis and signed him to his first deal. Fred Durst rules!!!!

  • was at this concert, in Biloxi MS, IT was a good concert

  • @Yunecronical I believe so. I think that was the last stop on that tour and his first time playing it live. One of my first, and probably favorite concert I've been to so far. It's just to bad system of a down didn't get to play though.

  • I don't know what it is about this song but everytime i hear it i wanna eat a piece of cake afterwards

  • absofuckinlutely top class choon ;)

  • Durst is such a small part of this song yet there are always people pissing and moaning and whining about him. He doesn't ruin anything. I'm not saying this as a fan of Freds... I could care less if people do or don't like him, but there's no reason for all of the negativity towards him in this tune. (none that I can see/hear).

    Great tune btw. Very emotional.

  • @Lynchstah Agreed

  • @Lynchstah People piss and moan about it because he IS a small part of the song yet he tries to soak up the limelight. He should have just kept his mouth shut and showed some humility and just let Aaron do his thing.

  • @Lynchstah I am not a fan of Limp Bizkit, frankly I've always felt Durst was kind of a douchebag. But I do prefer this version of the song, with is backup vocals. For that matter, I'm not a big fan of Staind, though they have some great acoustic songs, much like Godsmack.

  • @Lynchstah not to mention, ole Freddy D wrote it!

  • @s3stax fred durst wrote what?

  • @s3stax wrote what? i hope you dont mean this song, because aaron lewis came up with this song as he sang it right there

  • @Waderman117 lol dude, it's a romantic notion and all but notice the background; it's break the cycle cover - this tune, outside, was on that record. =)

  • @ifneeed and if i were wrong explain how the song Waste, a song about a boy that hung himself TO the song Outside, is on the same album as Outside itself?

  • @Lynchstah IMO, Durst is non-existant in this version. The whole reason i even listen to this version is due to the feeling Aaron puts into this version. I am a fan of Limp Bizkit and have no problem saying this. The MINOR role Fred has in this song pales to the raw emotion of this song

  • @Malferic i agree fully it has alot of heart behind it the studio version doesn't. gives me goosebumps

  • @Guinters I get the same way from the song "Where did you sleep last night" live by Nirvana. The last 2 lines or so are so raw and emotional, i cant help but have a shudder run up my spine every time i listen to it

  • fred durst makes the lamest facial expressions, he basically ruins this video for me. staring at his stupid face ruins the beauty. gtfo fred

  • Story I heard was, Aaron was not ready to perform the song live yet. Fred Durst was telling him that he should do it. Fred basically said "Come on brother, I will go out there with you, lets go!" He was being a good friend, Fred Durst style. Dont quote me on any of this, but its what I can remember from when it first came out.

  • You know, I'm not a Staind fan. I never really liked the "numetal" thing circa 2000. But this song really sticks with you. I actually believe the singer means what he is singing, or at least he did at the time... which is a rare feat in contemporary music. So I'll give him props for that.

But why, WHY, did he let Fred Durst participate in this song? My god, when Durst started chirping, he should have stood up and smacked him in the face with his guitar. Durst is such a sychophantic leech.

  • It seems like yesterday but it's about 11 years ago when happened that. The bands like this one are the best we can remember with years. They are writing the music's history even if they 're not recognized as they have to. I hope you still doing the same favour for us. Thank you so much for this kind of music n' live Morocco y la puta leche k nos dan d mamar.

  • best live song ever played

  • one of the most underrated bands

  • Beautiful <3

  • easily the best performance of this song.

  • awesome <3

  • Thanks for this.

  • Awesome! :D
