It's not so much the series, as it is the translations. NoA is quite infamous for renaming nearly everything they've ever released.

Tazmily was also the canonical translation shown in Nintendo Power back when Mother 3 was going to be Earthbound 64. Then NoA forgot about that when they transliterated it for Brawl.
