@MrCrazedinsane You have to gather a bunch of inchworms in one of the other pyramid levels. When you get 12 inchworms in one spot they'll form into a foot which will carry you to the temple.

This was my favorite episode of Keen!!. I loved the forest with the smiling trees in the background. I used to draw pictures in school with those trees. Just because I played the game so much :-) I loved them.. and I still do. A good childhood memory.

HELP!

Right, I've downloaded the DOSBox from your annotation link. And I've downloaded the game off Piratebay and I try and open the game from the folder that it's in, and a box comes up saying: This system does not support fullscreen mode. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

It isn't even full screen? HELP!

Well, it could be one of two things.

1.) Corrupted file off of Piratebay, just use the download link I provide in the annotation.

2.) Your resolution is so high that Dosbox is getting confused and can't display properly. I reccomend in this second case right clicking the Dosbox shortcut and going to the compatibility tab. Choose to boot up in 640 X 480 resolution.

But yeah, I really recommend you just download one of the numerous shareware copies around the web, such as the one I linked.

Also, make sure you actually know how to use Dosbox. You click and drag the Keen4E.exe file onto the dosbox shortcut. The game should boot up in a little window. Hit alt enter to go fullscreen.

damn.. i tried to download dosbox, it worked, and I drag keen into it, it worked, but.. now i have to 'mount the c-dirve'

i don't know how i must do that.

cause there's only Z:\> and i dont understand the fact that they say: You have to mount it first, but how???

You don't have to mount the C drive to get it to work. Clicking and dragging should do it just fine. Try redownloading Dosbox and deleting the old version. One of your settings might be messed up.

And, if you're curious, mounting is just when you take a folder/drive on your computer and tell Dosbox to treat it like the C drive. So, like, you could "mount" C:\Documents and Dosbox would allow you to type in commands to run files in that directory.

Well, what usually happens when you download a Keen4 is it comes with an install file. Run this once (it usually defaults to the C drive). What you need to do then is go into my computer and find Keen4E.exe. With that window still open, find a shortcut to dosbox (like on your desktop). Click and drag Keen4E on to this shortcut. It should start up Dosbox and Keen.

Ah, I see. Well the problem is that you're trying to run a dos game on a modern PC (most likely). There's a program called DosBox which will run the game just fine at dosbox(dot)sourceforge(dot)net­. That's what I used to play the game in this video.

I seem to remember only HAVING to beat 4 levels to beat this game, the first two, then miraga, then the well. but there were many others. is the only purpose to get points? Were there any secrets or secret levels? I seem to remember there being a pyramid I could never get into, but I could see.

The secre temple was the temple of the forbiden. You could get there by the temple of the moon, and getting all twelve worms, and warping there.

What jpr said. Also, you need to beat more than 4 levels. You have to rescue all of the wise men. There's one in the well of wishes (which you need to beat miragia to reach), but a few more, too. Something like 5 or 6 total IIRC.

On the Moon Pyrmaid, you have to get all those yellow things that follow you (I've always thought they were decoration!) in one place - 12 of them - and a magic foot will appear. You jump onto it and it flies you to the other pyrmaid... very random! Mind you it's an extremely hard level so make sure you have plenty of lives before you do it.

You betcha you can! Actually, I found out recently that you can get most of the CK games off of Steam and there's also a site called 3drealms that sells them all. This particular Keen is shareware and easy to find online. Just search "commander keen 4" on google. It should be one of the first results.
