  • excellent

  • Whoa!! Those braids are sooo fierce!! They're so small and adorable!! Thanks for the vid!!

  • I had a big chop then a relaxer in my hair. Then on Nov. 1, 2010 I decided to go natural. It's been over three months and my hair has grown almost a inch longer. Do u think I should cut my hair again or wait until it becomes a problem?

  • great video! I'm subbin

  • Where do you purchase that Dr. Bonners?

  • Hi, I've been natural for about 14 months and I have a liiiiitttle amt of perm in the front on the ends. Can you tell me what exactly is a cowash? I subscribe to your videos and thank you for helping the clueless people like me. Also I tried the braids and ended up doing mine way too big...so I plan on trying again when I have more time. I have REALLY thick hair. Do you have any suggestions for hairstyles? Bc now the only thing that is working for me is my bun. :(

  • @smileyane620 a cowash is done by using only conditioner to wash the hair and scalp.

  • luv the hair

  • I LOVE your braids! They look great. I can't wait until my hair grow and I'm able to braid it.

  • Hello,

I absolutely appreciate this video and love the way that your hair turned out! I had one quick question for you, because I plan to try doing my own braids within the next week or two. I deal with a lot of shrinkage (type 4a/4b), so unfortunately I fear that my hair will not turn out as long (shoulder length) or as nice as yours, despite the fact that our hair is the same length. Would you recommend that I try braiding after I've straightened it? Thanks in advance for your time :-)

  • @tarice77 I blew out my hair before braiding it. You shouldn't have any problems with shrinkage. Your hair will be stretched ou after braiding it and most likely stay that way. Please let me know how it turned out:)

  • How do you take your braids out. I did the braids, left them in for 3 weeks, moisturized as needed and when I took them out...I feel I lost so much hair. I was scared. I LOVE, LOVE , LOVE the protective style, but it didn't feel so protective when I saw the pile of hair that I lost.

  • @knoxyk1 You shed several hairs a day. So if you calculate enough hairs over a 30 day or more period, it will appear to be alot. Don't worry, it's a natural occurrence. I have a nice size ball of hair too. I take my hair out when it's wet and covered in conditioner. It's much easier and quicker that way.

  • Toy, your braids are absolutely beautiful! love em'! I am doing two-strand twists and have been doing for the past couple of months. My hair loves them! I find that if I leave my hair alone (not too much manipulation), it will show me love! Again, just beautiful!

  • ok i looked at your video again, and i put very small micro sized braids in my hair in feburary and co washed alomst every day... I also shampooed once every 2 weeks. My hair LOVES co washes and i only had those braids in for a month and noticed alot of thickness and growth after taking them out. It took me 12 hours to do it. I have put in the micro sized braids again but left then halfway loose this time to acheive thickness because i hate seeing the parts in my head, lol... i will co wash alot

  • OH MY GOD... i could not concentrate on what you said or what ur hair look like!!! Because your eyebrows are soooo perfect... OMG im jealous smmmffh

  • @temickab lol.... thanks...

  • I like your videos...just subscribed. : }

  • @mbrdavis thank you for subbing :)

  • first off, i looove ur personality! and after watching your video i think natural braids will be the perfect summer do for me especially since i stay on the gulf coast where it gets super hot. keep up the styles :)

  • @csbabygurlc thank you. you are so nice for saying so :)

  • what do you do to make the ends stay braided

  • @mskittye my ends are curly so guess it helps.

  • Just placed my order! Is it wrong to be excited? lol

  • It helps!! Thanks!! I just did a little checking around and you're right, there is a white and yellow one - the yellow is "African Butter" and the white is "Shea Butter" to my understanding. I'll check out your article now! l8r :0)

  • Your braids are beautiful. Great vid.

  • Hey!! can you please send me the link or info to where you got your shea butter? I can't find any worth buying :o(

  • @SheritaBolasingh I began to research shea butter AFTER I made this video. I wrote this article squidoo.com/shea-butter-for-hair-and-skin

and it has all the links to every kind of shea butter there is. Be sure to read the differences between yellow and white shea butter. I'm getting the white shea butter after this one runs out. I hope this helps.

  • the braids are really pretty! when im fully natural im going to do this style, thanks :D

  • @JUZDONTSAYSHYT When did you cut your hair? I'm sorry about your stress. Feel better soon.

  • I can't wait to get to that length because that style is too cute!

  • @coshun2003 Thanks so much. You will have the length that you want in no time.

  • I'm so glad I found you! You are so helpful and beautiful:D

  • @Caphale1 Awwww, thanks.... your beautiful too :)

  • I'm enjoying the carefree styling of Eco-styler gel. I love the way it curls my hair up for $4! XD I am washing n going for the rest of ....well June. No use in lying. LOL.

I have a curly weave I would like to try this summer maybe I'll rock that for the 4th.

Nice job on ur braids. They look wonderful :)

  • @TreseMason Thanks. I like to change my hair up too. I may have stuck my foot in my mouth by saying otherwise.

  • Hey Toy!

Its JenellyBean from Kinky Curly Coily Me!

The braids look cute on you and as you know the protective styling is great for your hair.

You can wear lots of styles with this style.

Can I post some of your videos on my blog?

  • @BlakIzBeautyful yes, please do! Thanks for asking and being a supporter! How ya been honey?

  • Hi...i would love to braid my hair like this for the summer (break from the wng-lol). Do you have a tutorial on how to do the braids? They are called box braids right?

  • @nucurly I did a video awhile ago of me braiding my hair. I didn't explain how to do it, but I will post a video when I touch up my braids next week.

  • I like them!

  • @slyknik21 Thanks!

  • Very nice. Would you recommend this style for someone who is transitioning?

  • @veebaby1 sure, transitioning hair is no problem

  • I Love that VO5 Condish!!

  • @CrissiMommyLove I love the price too..... I stock up when it goes on sale.

  • Do you to take them out individually or can you just wash them out?

  • @ClassyWithIt taking them out is a pain... I usually wet my hair to help with the process.... but to answer your question--- I do have to take them out individually.

  • Do you order your shea butter online? If you do, could you please post a link to the site you order from? Thank you.

  • Did you use something to make them curly at the ends or does it naturally curl you dont need rubber bands do you ?

  • Your braids are soooo Beautiful! Great Job! Between you and some other youtubers, I'm getting inspired to attempt the project of individual mini braids for the summer!!!! lol Thanks for sharing... :-)

  • @wamj68 you should do it! I really do like the braids. Thanks for commenting!

  • I just want to say thank you for your videos. I am transitioning and they are very informative with a lovely personality to go along.... 2 questions: 1) Did you deep cleanse before putting the braids in and 2) You mentioned having your water bottle while braiding...Did you have anything in it, such as VG or oils? Thank you so much!

  • @honeybunnybunny No problem, I enjoy making them. Thank you for saying so :)

I cleansed my hair with Dr. Bronners and the water bottle was for drinking :)

  • Your braids are so pretty! I am still debating what protective style to do, I want to try the braids but the thought of sitting & braiding (I'm a slow braider) & taking breaks (which I need to do or else I'll be trying to climb up a wall), just turns me off the idea, lol. I would have to psych myself up to do braids as small as this. :-|

  • @TwistedNaturally lol... yeah but the results are worth it.....just wake up shake and go! I complained the whole time ( ouch my elbow, my arms are tired, ugh!) I'm glad I did it though.

  • looking good. Can't wait for this TWA to grow out. I just put a set of yarn braids in so I can get me some length.

  • Great Tips on keep your Braids looking Fresh! and Your Braids look really Pretty(0:

  • Your hair looks amazing a love it! I wanna try that! Just a quick tip that isn't African shea butter it's actually something called African Butter that comes from a different tree than the shea tree.

  • Yup your right... I found out after making this video.... please check out the link in the description box. I was really shocked!

  • @seemyhealthyhair oh ok GOOD! I found out n wanted everyone to know. smh lol

  • Your braids look great. You did a great job!!!!

  • @blessednbeautiful1 Thanks! :)

  • Great look! I put some kinky twist in for the summer, coming up on a year natural soon :O)

  • @frostyk1371 I like kinky twist, if I ever get them done I will most likely go to a salon.

  • love the hair very neat & pretty..

  • i did something similar to ur style, but instead of plaiting the ends i twisted them so my hair would look like kinky twists. the plaited roots is just to make the style last longer.

  • I put my braids back in this weekend too! I think this is gonna be my summer doo!

  • I totally love your braids! I was debating on what to do with my hair for the summer and since I've seen your vid, I must get braids. Thanks for sharing

  • Love your eyebrows they look sooo perfect

  • Now that looks real nice...

  • i luv luv luv when ur hair is in the braids..i think thats what im gonna do this weekend..keep up the good work..it looks awesome..did u blow out ur hair or stretched in any kind of way b4 u began to braid it? do u use a comb or fingers? also i know u have a video from last year when u did individual braids did u do it the same way so then i know i can check that one out..thanks.

  • I had my hair braided down and when I took it out my hair shed an extreme amount. I had my hair braided down in a sew in for a month but kept it washed and moisturized weekly. Do you have suggestion on how to care for my hair and keep it from shedding so?

  • I currently have microbraids in my hair. I am transitioning to natural hair, so this is the best method for my new growth to grow out faster. The less manipulation, the better. Thanks for the video! You always have great ideas!:)

  • can I use it on add hair? or will it get clumpy in between the your and the added hair.

  • I too am doing protective styling. I have my hair in two strand twist. Today is the 10th day. I will take them down tomorrow and do a deep condition and retwist. I am loving my twist. I didnt thank I could cowash them, due to the fact that I might mess them up. It held up very well. Everyday though I do spray them with water and leave in condition.

Thank girlie for the video. Your hair looks great.

  • girl love the hair and i have a question how do you keep ur ends so neat? the same way u do the rest of ur hair? ect ect. thanks be blessed

  • omg your braids is so beautiful, I dont know if i can get mines like that but i will try..lol

  • I would love the braids but my scalp gets so itchy after just one week. I know I couldn't make it for 6 to 8 weeks. Any suggestions on what to do for an extremely itchy scalp?

  • @vevealy You need to keep oil near by when doing braids, twist or protective styling. Usually the inching comes from a dry scalp. If thats not the case then maybe co-washing from sweating or built up dirt could get rid of the problem! I would think it was the first answer though. I would suggest using coconut or olive oil daily on the scalp when doing braids, twist or other protective styling

  • @kiera843

Thanks so much. Maybe I wasn't putting enough oil on it. I will try that next.:-)

  • @vevealy Your welcome. Hope the oil works for you

  • Do you have any recommendations for people with dandruff? I have to shampoo my scalp once a week and it messes up my braids or any other protective style I have in.

  • Oh yeah I forgot I did pin my braides up in a i think its called a banana clip. Kimmytube gave me the idea but she twist her hair but I just decided to braid it. Great video!!

  • yes yes it is time consuming if u are doing ur own braids bc I just braid(ed) my hair yesterday and it took up to 2am in the morning(no extensions). I decided to keep my hair braided bc of school and I don't much time to do everyday. I will not be taking them down until the middle of July.

  • your braids look so neat!

  • I love this video, I'm trying to find different natural looks so this is very helpful. Thank you. Question!! My hair is very soft and straight at the ends so how do I keep the braids from coming undone??

  • I love your hair Beautiful!!!!!! May God bless you and keep you and give you peace.

  • i currently have in braid extensions for my transition. they've been in for 4 weeks now and im going for six.. i did them myself =)

  • your hair looks great

  • Hi love the braids. I'm protective styling this summer too. Currently, I have crochet braids with wavy and curly hair. Once I take this style down I plan to get cornrolls. Thanks for the video!

  • I love your braids. I can't braid to save my soul but my daughter is convinced that since I'm natural now somehow I'm going to learn. LOL!!! We'll see.

  • girl love the hair and i have a question how do you keep ur ends so neat? the same way u do the rest of ur hair? ect ect. thanks be blessed
