Read my post again, it clearly says "Godzilla" not Godzilla Jr. Then there is the Godzilla of millennium, Most of these are stand alone titles and therefor not exactly canon. So did it ever cross your mind that perhaps I was speaking of a different Godzilla?

Then the humans spawned a new godzilla said to be bigger and Badder, and THAT was the one that melted down. HA. I win

@alienizedgodzilla Minor corrections - the military did NOT kill him, he was going to die anyways (i.e. monster meltdown). If you remember, they actually prevented it once in the movie. Their goal wasn't to kill him - it was to prevent or minimize his meltdown. Godzilla's death revived Godzilla Junior - he tried to revive him, but Destroyah wounded so badly. Remember Junior closing his eyes?

Only a couple versions of Godzilla hated mankind. Most versions of Godzilla though are neither good nor bad. He doesn't "defend" the humans from other monsters, he just straight up hates the other monsters. Generally speaking, the only *good* monster is Mothra.

I like this Godzilla and not the one from 1998 for a few reasons: 1) The original Godzilla was an antagonist turned hero., 2) The original Godzilla did NOT DIE FROM MISSILES! ):<, and 3) The 1998 Zilla (and that thing DOES NOT DESERVE THE NAME GODZILLA WHATSOEVER! The creature was basically the results of nuclear testing, prob some over grown frog lol. The first attacking was on a Japanese fishing ship which of course the surviver kept saying Gojira. Which was prob a joke towards people in Japan as in to say Japanese people allways run away screaming GOJIRAAAAAAAA. Toho company always have and will make the best Godzilla films.

Loved the film but as was shown quite clearly in 2004 Final Wars, the REAL Godzilla doesn't bow to some copy trying to take his place :D. Glad he became part of the Godzilla "monster group" though :)
