  • Ինչքան հայտնի է, Կոմիտասը վախճանվել է 1935 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 28-ին:

  • Thanks for the video!!!! But why don't you write who plays the piano? That's Marianna Harutyunyan ,a wonderful pianist

  • Dear Jesus, How on earth could any vocalist learn this? you'd be breaking down after each phrase :(((

It would be a challenge, I guess after practicing it enough, you'd find the strength to get through it, and convey the same emotions that Lucine brought up from Gomidas' grave so well....

anyone know where I can find sheet music for gomidas' vocal pieces?

  • My Goodness, this is still my favorite. You have to hold your breath to listen and the piano accompany gets on your nerves.

  • Hogis barekamneres. Revelation as Debussy called it! Evey single time!

  • Dear Kutahyatsi,

Thank you! I was walking around Cambridge, MA singing this song last night and this morning I figured I'd look it up. I'd forgotten that Lucine Zakarian, whom I heard sing the Badarak once in Echmiadzin, had left us, so long ago... Noren khorabes shnorhagal em, paregam! Jachoghut'iun, James

  • Thank you for this video - it's not possible to articulate how wonderful and sad this performance is. I'll just say this: I know nothing of Armenian music, but I came across a short passage on Komidas while reading Kapuscinski's "Imperium" and was so interested in his story that I have immediately begin to listen to his work. What a wonderful thing to find on here. Thanks very much.

  • well done! very impressive!

i was going to put this song by the voice of Lusine on YouTube!!! but now i see you already did it! :)

    great job!

  • Charjer pnav.

  • First I would like to thank friend of mine who introduced me to Youtube(Please don't laught, I was not much of a computer person) and I fell in love with it. And then, I like to thank to people who post quality good music/videos here, such as this one. It is always a pleasure to listen to one and only Lusine Zakaryan. Her voice is coming from heaven, it's an angel voice. It is so pure, so divine.

    Thanks for the video.

  • Is there any video ? so we can see how SHE makes this FANTASTIC PURE SOUND ??? listen carefuly (01.45-01.54!!!)WOOOW ! ! ! !

  • Thank you for this Song.If someone have other song by Lusine please upload.

  • Very nice voice, composition, and video. Just a correction that Komitas Vardapet was born in 1869, and passed away in 1935 (not 1915).

  • You are right philosophe77, that (of 1935) was the last death, as an simple human being, in the worst living conditions. I like to remember that he´s first death occurs during the first phase of the Armenian Holocaust, when he, the creator, the artist, the spirit of the armenians beloved priest (and all the armenian nation) falls as a victim of the first greatest sample of the human stupidity.

  • I love Gomidas´ piano introductions too. You know, every time i hear soloists singing with piano accompaniment, i repeat again and again only that few compasses. I find a great talent for creating the appropiate atmosphere with several notes, giving the soloist his necessary instant of inspiration to performing. Thanks God, i have found someone to talk this fantastic (and for me holy) themes with. Thanks win096.

  • Both the soloist´s and the piano parts are the original written by Komitas, but i don´t know who was the player. This song is included in a cd edited by Parseghian records 10-15 years ago. I hope it´s available yet.

  • i agree with your feelings when listening Anduni. Really, his musical world and colours are deep, dense, complex, dark, mysterious... but extremely simple when composing. With a few notes and chords he is very effective to transmit feelings and sensations straight to heart.

Sadly there´s a whole generation of armenians that don´t knows about this millenarian thesaurus´jewel.

  • great, great, great...thank you keutahiatsi for posting this musical jewel

  • I'm speechless...

  • Lyrical melomaniacs of the world:

It´s time to recognize this great soprano as one of best lyrical voices of the world. At the same time, Gomidas Vartabed´s unusual talent to composing and arranging. I think that their only guilt was to live in an small and antique country named Armenia.

  • Claude Debussy said about Gomidas -when he heard "Anduni" of his own voice-, that the only act to composing this song, is enough to recognize him as one of the world´s greatest composers of the century.

What do you think about this?
