I guess Marty learned a few tips about showmanship and vocal delivery standing next to Lester... he learned it well! I saw this band at Christmas 1974 in Tarboro NC and almost went home and smashed my mandolin :-)
It's fun but I remember coming in from playing all day and mom turning on the tv to the wagon show and watching Lester & his band. But I forgot that was Marty until now. thanks for sharing.
I went to see him last night but he never came out of his bus. It was storming. So our fair was with out a singer. What a drag.
This kid was a born pro. Notice how he adjusts the mic for the fiddle player before stepping away the first time.

Sad that Paul Warren only lived one more year after this was filmed. He was one of the best fiddlers of bluegrass music.

Love seeing Marty at that age. He has been in the business for a long time. What a cutie, still is.

love it when Marty seems to be stifling a giggle in the last chorus

good solid bluegrass stuff! love it. marty was too country for the modern stuff so nashville dumped him in the 90s
