  • This kid was a born pro. Notice how he adjusts the mic for the fiddle player before stepping away the first time.

  • I guess Marty learned a few tips about showmanship and vocal delivery standing next to Lester... he learned it well! I saw this band at Christmas 1974 in Tarboro NC and almost went home and smashed my mandolin :-)

  • lesting to lester and marty sing, man that sounds boss.

  • lester flatt is one of my relitives he is a good singer

  • It's fun but I remember coming in from playing all day and mom turning on the tv to the wagon show and watching Lester & his band. But I forgot that was Marty until now. thanks for sharing.

I went to see him last night but he never came out of his bus. It was storming. So our fair was with out a singer. What a drag.

  • What a gem of a video!

  • no band had the magic like lester flatt and the nashville grass!!!

  • Loved the song, the harmonies, and this lineup. Wonderful!

  • Sad that Paul Warren only lived one more year after this was filmed. He was one of the best fiddlers of bluegrass music.

  • @Banjomountain Paul Warren passed away in 1978...

  • Love seeing Marty at that age. He has been in the business for a long time. What a cutie, still is.

  • love it when Marty seems to be stifling a giggle in the last chorus

  • good solid bluegrass stuff! love it. marty was too country for the modern stuff so nashville dumped him in the 90s

  • awesome.marty has high pitch they sound great together and you can tell the crowd loves their harmony.
