What a wonderful video. You've made a loving video from an interesting, yet strange little movie. In fact, your video is almost better then the film itself. But the theme song and those wonderful men kissing and holding each other is just breathtaking! I think this is the best movie to see the best gay kissing and courting around! And anytime i feel sad or feel lonely. I watch this and know that real love between men can and does exist!
WOW! FANTASTIC! You are truely in a class of your own! I have recently finished my own vid (I had to use hot guy skin clips of tv), and know how much work that goes into searching, converting, converting again for Windows Live Movie Maker (but you probably have a better tool?), and than adding music and start editing before the final version can be stored and uploaded. Took me weeks. I planned to leave it as a videoresponse - but wont. My little attempt cant compete with this supreme standard.:(
@Dolphininseaable Thanks so much again my friend. Querelle is a vey important film and deserved all my attention. I've used a lot of editing softwares through the years, including WMM. I moved on now to something a little more proffesional but just with WMM you could do a lot of great work too. Just need patience and inspiration. Only videographers get the huge amount of work behind the editing works, so thanks a lot for your sweet words. And send me your videoresponse. I would accept gladly :-)
Of course I like the video, appreciate a good job you put all the effort to do better. It is a pleasure to friend that you're happy, thank you and goodbye.
@plumctplactzoom Thanks love. The real artists were the author of the book Jean Genet and the director of the film, Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Rough stuff though. Lots of kisses xoxox
His video is a great friend, a wonderful job with his efforts have created every day and give us joy, like this video, with its actors and the music perfect, thanks to my friend, a big hug.
i know you approached this film previously and i understand coming back to it. i consider this the all time greatest film in "gay" cinema - and strangely there are those who argue that it has nothing to do with homosexuality - a theme used only as metaphor of a higher truth. thank you love for brining attention to this important film. fassbinder's genius is incomparable - and i find his influence in the work of others like Jarman's Edward II - if only he & Brad Davis were still with us :-(
@doughboy1547 You remember my previous vid from Querelle..? Good memory love. I was too naive then using some explicit scenes and I paid the price for that. So, I needed to revisit Fassbinder's genius again. We loss two genius with Fassbinder and Jarman. And a wonderful actor and beautiful man with Brad Davis. The damn epidemic took us some of the best and more risk gay artists of our time. xoxoxox
Great video! The song is perfect for it, and the performance of the actors were up there too! Thanks again, dear JJ, U R the best! Besos desde Brazil!
@totaldarkness19 It must be you dear... because this is the music and "song" of the movie, and a great one, performed by Jeanne Moreau. Lyrics by mr. Oscar Wilde. Problably you haven't watched the movie.
I haven't seen the film. The video is GORGEOUS, but the film it's based on seems weird & stylized. Why is everyone trying to kill everyone? I'm familiar with the concept of each man kills the thing he loves, but still...
OK, I just read a plot summary—very convoluted. No wonder nothing was clear.
Perhaps I shouldn't have come to this video immediately after trying to watch Homme au Bain in French with Spanish subtitles.
I long for a depiction of love & more or less vanilla sex between two men. ㋡
@alwaysuseless I'm afraid this great classic in which converge the talents of Jean Genet, Oscar Wilde and R.W.Fassbinder isn't your type of movie either John. It's surrealistic, self destructive, disturbing... but overall... absolutely astounding! Wonderful theatricality on the performances and deliberate fake set designs, wonderful music and cinematography... and the beauty of B. Davis and F. Nero. All that under the masterful direction of the troubled and inmensely talented R. W. Fassbinder.
@JJTheTrue While there's some truth to what you say, don't paint me out with too broad a brush. I'm a big fan of Oscar Wilde. I was alternately disturbed & enthralled by Berlin Alexanderplatz, as Fassbinder & Alfred Döblin no doubt intended. The only problem I have with Homme au Bain is characters talking with NO SOUND, including a scene in your video "Ring My Bells" where dialog is both AUDIBLE & subtitled in English—& yet elsewhere in my copy dialog is audible & subtitled in Spanish. Strange.
@alwaysuseless I'm glad you to see that your tastes had more layers than I thought. I love to see beautiful love stories with happy endings (and we all know that we need a lot more than the few ones we have) but the edgier works or great artists like Derek Jarman, R. W. Fassbinder or Jean Genet are very captivating too, even when they're so disturbing. Sorry but I don't get your comment about "Homme au bain" problems about dialog and subtitles. It is problably an artistic decission.
I remember this film, so excellected film.Too bad that Brad Davis died of hiv however he was great actor. Thanks for posted have great week JJ sents you french kisses.
@Califsexyguy It's a total classic. And yes, it was so sad the passing of the Brad Davis, great actor and a gorgeous man. I will always remember him as "Querelle" and on "Midnight Express"
I love friend back weekend and I find this particular video, as always your work expectaculares and your genius is great, thanks again my friend for this great music video.
