  • anthony fantano brought me here

  • @SoloDolo784 Your faggot ass brought me here.

  • intro --->smashing pumpkins stand inside your love

  • this is their best song- love this band

  • Recommendation: The Anatomy of Frank.

  • It's like an American, contemporary Smiths. I love it.

  • Release date: 1989.

  • Good band thank you

  • Good band thank u

  • like a 90's indie band! For example The Blue Boy,Brighter,etc...

  • Good song

  • yeh stone roses with that liitle bit more of a lift

  • Sounds like Morrissey....

  • Que cancion tan buena Dios mio, demasiada buena!

  • Actually it sounds like the Kitchens of Distinctions, who in their turn sound like the Smiths.

  • yummy!

  • The chorus sort of reminds me of Polaris.

  • Cool band...sound like The Smiths, Stone Roses, or the Mighty Lemon Drops...this has all been done before...but its cool

  • @Jofishy66 Actually it sounds like the Kitchens of Distinction, who in their turn sound like the Smiths.

  • i love this band!! why haven't i heard of them before??

  • super

  • hey matmo, you are right on with that c86 sound. this sounds really good to me, i like all that stuff like sea urchins

  • Album art reminds me of Belle & Sebastian.

  • I feel like I'm listening to C86 all over again.

  • Well done guys! Our best from Barcelona... u are been listened here too... :)

  • i think i'm in love with this band! :)

  • I love that picture! Every time i see it i smile. I don't know why!

  • maybe cause its ripped off by B & S?!?!

  • this is pretty cool, didn't read the desciption first and I guessed it was some old 80s thing that I had just never heard before.

  • I would suggest a couple of more bands, A place to bury strangers and The Sunshine Factory.

  • I think the best thing about this band is the name. I do enjoy the sweetness of the presentation not near as intense as shoegaze from the first time around but it is nice. More like no wave.

  • Really? I LOVE the sound, but find it's the worst band name I've ever heard. I still think they'e fantastic, never-the-less.

  • i'm glad this came out. i love the c-86 stuff. mainly the razorcuts.

  • LOVE EM shoegazeforever! they sound like the pale saints ......LOVEandPEACE!

  • reminds me a little of stuff from the Paisely Underground period

    =)

  • C-86esque

  • I absolutely loooooooooooove this band!!! It reminds me a little from The Primitives. It's fantastic!

  • Whoever they sound like they do it very well and its very enjoyable to listen to. I bet some of the bands they have been influenced by have listened to their album and been impressed. good songwriting is good song writing at the end of the day. Take your favourite band and imagine a new band that sounds like them but writes even better songs. Would you be happy about this? I would.

  • Never ever say twee! Unless of course, you're describing something bad. This is indie-pop.

  • Sooo New-Zealand-25-years-ago (in a good way, of course).

  • los dolores de ser puro de corazón

that is their name in spanish

  • Sounds like they have perfected their late 80s indie/shoegaze vibe but am i the only one on here who thinks there's absolutley NO originality in what they release?

It just sounds like EBM or Jesus & Mary Chain...

    Catchy though

  • originality is overrated. give me what i want. pop music.... and porn. that's internet.

  • You're right. There was nothing terribly original about the Beatles's first five albums, either, but they're still pretty awesome. At some point all artists ride on the shoulders of their heroes. Bad ones never get tired of it. Good ones eventually stand up and climb higher. Time will tell which kind of artist these are.

  • hmm...true I guess. But it's refreshing to hear and it still sends tingles, you know?

  • Great song. It really sounds like Belle & Sebastian, it would fit perfectly in their last album "The Life Pursuit"

  • The life pursuit has nothing on belle and sebasians older previous records...in fact, it's a bit rubbish :/ This album would be a suitable replacement haha!

  • Nonsense. While I agree it's not their best, it's certainly not rubbish. "Another Sunny Day", "Act of the Apostle (II)", and "Funny Little Frog" are all great; "Dress Up in You" is about as acidic and ironic and sad as anything they've done.

Incidentally, I don't know why anyone would like this group to Belle & Sebastian. It may be the only group they DON'T sound like.

  • Still has nothing on their older songs. A lot of people felt they "sold out" their sound in that album.

And it's the "feminine" style high voice that draws comparisons. I actually thought a girl sung most of these songs actually.

  • Even if "selling out" were synonymous with "trying new sounds", then it would actually be more true to say that they "sold out" at Dear Catastrophe Waitress, not the Life Pursuit. Furthermore, what, precisely, did they have in their earlier work that they do NOT have in the Life Pursuit?

  • It's not new sounds though. Really, the issue is that it avoided the less extravagent nature of of their musice before, that album was the equivelent of flashing their penis and everyone noticing it wasn't very big. Subject nature too, it didn't cover as much as the album previous.

  • This is the part where corpulent consciousness catches up to intuition. "False alarm," intuition tells him. "Yes. I see that now," says consciousness. Intuition regards the stretching shapes on the grass. "Should we tell them that there's no ...?" Consciousness yawns. Too much coffee and cigarettes makes him sleepy. "Fuck them."

  • his voice almost reminds me of belle and sebastian

  • Really catchy melody! this guitar sound reminds me, too, The Stone Roses and a little bit of McCarthy. But this is,still, their own style. Good song.

  • It's like Echo And The Bunnymen + My Bloody Valentine! How could this get any better!?

  • Comment removed

  • WunderBAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • irgendwie werden die immer besser von song zu song...

  • Watch the Pains of Being Pure at Heart live in NYC on my profile!

  • I like it

  • Great song.

  • cool song

  • i love this band! they are so cool. this song reminds me a bit of The Stone Roses.

Thank you so much for posting!

  • @ROCKWORLD1881 It is quite Stone Roses-esque, I agree, I can hear a bit of The Smiths in there too, and the drumming reminds me of Steven Morris from Joy Division. The singer also sounds a bit like Thurston Moore.

Basically TPOBPAH encompass the sound of everything great about the 80s!

  • good song. I shall pass it on

  • Great song! :)

  • I STAND "INFECTED" again ~ "DIG"~

  • This is a great song!
