  • Its so cute! I have one thats pretty tame, it sits by my window every night waiting for me to hand her a cookie! When im not home my Dad feeds her for me:)))

  • That thing has such a menacing look...like a serial killer!

  • Lord I hope that your kids dont end up as dumb as you are! What an example of an idiot you are.

  • @ulcohatchee1959 I'm way to stupid to have kids! Good lord!

  • OH NUUU! a kitty in a tree! ILL SAVE YOU KITTY!

  • Comment removed

  • Why did you kill this animal that was OUTSIDE of your house in the tree? Some people are so ignorant and nasty.

  • @Karosanyo I didn't kill it. oh! at the end when it looks dead? It was just playing dead! We left it alone. Fur serious.

  • so nice possum

  • . ..wow,, 2007. For some reason I did not bother to upload anything till those GI JOE psa's became common on youtube & damn you get trolled hard. . ..

  • @TheSupersurgical thinks he should talk RIP ~ PIR into uploading her Possum videos & adding them as a video response here. She found a baby one in her backyard in LA and though it was a giant mutant mouse. Its fully tamed now & only hisses at cats. . ...of course you saw the funny missing cat poster I made with opossum pictures? Saying it was unfriendly & likes to hang upside down on its tail.

  • @TheSupersurgical I loved those posters. I think I'll put R.I.P in the title cause this IS a monetized video, so more views is good. I troll Heidi the Opossums facebook page with it sometimes and get a dollar off it.

  • @rayofminneapolis . ...so you did or did not know that was a opossum/possum?

    .

    .

    .

  • @TheSupersurgical I couldn't figure it out at the time. But I'm sure I was stoned.

  • this shows how ignorant people are when it comes to wild life.{it looks ugly so it has to die} try reading up on them people.

  • @Cscottrun53 o sir! I did not.

  • where is the attack loser?

  • @TheREALTeol In your pants

  • @rayofminneapolis dont think so, seeing how you mother currently occupies that spot;) She heard you became an idiot and wanted nothing to do with you after finding out that you really didnt know the meaning of a word as simple as "attack"...

  • @TheREALTeol apparently, neither do you. waaah waaah waaaah.

  • Duh! What's that, A huge muskrat?

  • hahahahaha.......the really funny part is how none of the possums attacked!!!!! this is gay

  • @partisan49 I KNOW! I took him to my house and tamed him! Now he can bite whoever I want him to. He is a badass awesome pet! You better watch what you say, I might sick my possum on YOU!

  • @partisan49 They are called "Heidis" you fool!

  • Oh my God people, It's a frigging Oppossum, are you stupid or what!! Just his canine teeth for tearing his food and certainly no danger to anyone unless you try to grab him. I live in a suburb and see them come and eat left over cat food all the time. Sometimes they are carryng babies on their backs and they really are quite cute,

  • These animals are so fucking creepy! they literally just look like a big monster rat

  • "There's a strange new animal I've never seen before! I don't know anything about it, and it's not bothering anyone, but I don't think it looks cute, so I think I'll attack it!"

It looks like between 1:25 and 1:27 the dumb redneck shot it.

  • @SinnFein4ever Nope. It climbed down and started playing dead. I can see how you might assume it was attacked though. I was actually a bit frightened of it, and we were in an urban area so it's not like we had hunting riffles on us or anything. Thanks for being wrong. Please play again.

  • Possums are North America's ONLY Marsupial, like a kangaroo. They carry their young in a pouch until old enough to fend for themselves. They eat Spiders, bugs & RATS, along with other creepie crawlies. As Mammals, their body temperature is too LOW to get Rabies & they are FRIENDS to home owners who don't have to use pesticides with them around. People are IDIOTS who don't realize that Possums are Beneficial Animals for homeowners.

  • @kenreuel I love opossums

  • @kenreuel umm tell my uncle that, he got bit by one and had to get rabie shots for 2 weeks

  • @rednecks493 umm tell your uncle that he got rabie shots for a animal that does not carry rabies. Sheesh, I used to work for animal control before joining the military and opossums are the animal you are least likely to get rabies from.

  • @kenreuel I see!

  • THESE ANIMALS ARE CUTE AND HARMLESS. PEOPLE HAVE THEM AS PETS. PUT IN "PET POSSUM" INTO YOUTUBE AND YOU'LL SEE.

  • oooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • this thing looks a huge Rat from Hell..why do people keep them as Pet??

  • the illuminati must be destroyed o.O' we all want a better world and dont wanna go to hell. So plz OPEN YOUR EYES AND STOP SERVİNG SATAN!!

  • @Goegoetje I don't serve satan.

  • @rayofminneapolis

Unless he has a shirt and shoes on...

  • @Goegoetje i rather follow science then extreme religion that has caused more deaths than anything else around this planet , a nuclear bomb has nothing on the death count to Catholics alone

  • all opposims have teeth like thiss, they are omniverous and ned those teeth to eat meat, they can inflict serious damage to you and have no problems killing cats. muskrat, lmao, muskrats last I knew don't have prehensiled tails and climb trees.

  • As with any wild animal found in nature, be very careful around them. There is no predictability to their dispositions. Also, Opossum are generally nocturnal animals avoiding daylight predators and looking for an easy meal of nighttime insects and small mammals. If you find one moving around in full daylight, beware of it because something, disease or physical injury, may have thrown off its internal clock. Sick or injured animals should be avoided.

  • The male possums have the fangs. You are lucky to have possums in your neighborhood.

  • i LIL BRO's school has alot of possums OMG!

  • they're survivors aren't they Can't see very well but their sense of smell is great . Only live about a year out in the wild Even in the best of environments maybe 2

  • those possems are in my back yard -_-

  • possums r ugly lol

  • lol it almost looks human

  • Giant water Possum!!!

  • no doubt!

  • Chupacabra?

  • yes!

  • May your garden be eaten up by lots of snails, slugs and may your house be forever infested by cockroaches! That's what will happen if they get rid of the possums!

  • @gretik88 or....you can get bug spray? o.o

  • An 87 year old neighbor lady who lived through the Great Depression of the 1930s told me her family used to eat possoms. She said they were very greasy.....but I guess if you are starving to death it would taste ok

  • @inkey2 Maybe we can try them in this economy

  • @plasticjesus108 People STILL eat Opossums, dude. (Opossum, with an O. Like Oprah. Prah would just be the Australian version.)

  • @inkey2 Perhaps they tastes like cornish Game hen?

  • @inkey2 opossum tastes better than any other animal!

  • @TheRadicalpeace...... people out in the country, in the old days used to eat squirrals too

  • one of those thing ate my left leg when i was a little baby.....

  • really!?

  • @benbored See! They like blood! I'm telling you, this one was a vampire!

  • My mom and I were coming home from somewhere one night and as we were pulling into our driveway what we saw this furry thing go into the bushes. We thought it was our cat who loves being outside. So we're walking up to the side door and this thing scampers out in front and I realize that it was a possum. Very creepy.

  • i got bit by one of them critters, dang it hurt some !

  • This is a male opossum in the N. America. Possums are founds in Australia. the large canine teeth are used mostly for defense. while they are omnivores, meaning they eat meat and plants, they aren't big on hunting, just easy meals. a small bird in a cage is an easy meal. a 3 month old puppy, too had to catch! no need to shoot any in your yard, as they help control rodents and insects. Live and let live!!

  • how adorable! some times the dogs i groom, the teeth do this! lol- the lips are dry or some thing- but they do not stay that way! love this!

  • it's an opossum not a possum there is a difference u know, i can't remember what that difference is but mark my words. They are different!!!

  • well - look it up and let us know! ?? i think same. Like some people say a hippo, and some say hippopotomus. don't pick on my spelling! ~~ please. Rhinos and rhinoseris too!

  • @TheFoxandTheRabbit possums are Australian... opossums are from the U.S ^^

  • @crosseyedcat101 I'm noticing a lot of viewers from Australia! Perhaps this is why.

  • @crosseyedcat101

No actually they are the same thing. But the proper term is "Opossum". "possum" is like calling "tomatoes" "taters".

  • @toxickatie *shakes head* a possum is from Australia... an opossum is a larger animal native to the U.S ... look them up on google or google images... you'll get 2 different animals

  • @crosseyedcat101 ahh you are wise. I'm noticing a lot of viewers from Australia! Perhaps this is why.

  • theres a lotta possums were i live. im scared they might hurt my 2 month old pitbull puppy in my backyard. they've already tried to eat my pet parakeets. i have my bb rifle locked and loaded in case i see one in my backyard again. ima send them a message!!

  • Possums are very clean animals, one of the cleanest mammals on the planet. They don't carry rabies as their body temp is too low. They are nomadic and very docile and won't bite unless you try to pick one up. They use their 50 teeth to grind up bones etc. I am a wildlife rehabber and possums are my favorite animal to rehab! Please don't shoot these animals as they are a vital part of natures recycling!

  • thank you for teaching people about opossums i have a pet the my ex wife save from a construcion site he was a baby only a month old and he's a year and half now and just friendly as can be he's like a fluffy cat i wish every one could see the true side of opossums!

  • same

those litle fuckers were up on my roof

ust picked them off wth a 3.57 mag

  • its 357.

  • I was five in that video Really not kidding i was the one that said hook to that tree or what ver i forgot what I said

  • Yep! And now almost 46 thousand people have seen this video! You said, "What kind of animal can curl up his tail and lives in a tree?" 1:33

  • Dear @rayofminneapolis : Opossums don't lives over trees. They lives down the houses, or any hole . The Opossum are great pets. Our Opossum now is in the wild but he spent one year with us. Very tender and sweet guy and we miss him. Now, I saved a little Opossum in the road and he is our guest. YOUTUBE CAPISTRANTOMAS

  • That thing looks evil >;)

  • "holy crap that thing is weird" HAHA !

I just saw one in my back yard today, and it was so scarryy ! ):

  • Well, I hate to reply to that, but if I've ever been that close to one in person? DO NOT make assumptions like that. I pulled one out of a tree hole by his tail. I've seen plenty of them and never thought about them being scary. What people in the country find scary and what people in the city find scary are two different things. Wouldn't want one to bite me, though...

  • they are Greys' pets....this explains everything about possums!

  • Opossum's aren't "freaky". They're docile and non-aggressive animals. They're often used as household pets because their behavior is very similar to a cats.

And because of the opossum's low body temperature, they're immune to rabies because the rabies virus can't survive. So if you see an opossum, don't freak out, you'll likely just scary it shitless and then it'll play dead for 4 hours.

  • How sad; that opossum does not look well. Sorry that he was harassed. He was undoubtedly scared. Opossums die from rabies before they can pass it on. Their bodies cannot handle it.

  • They probably think it's crazy cuz they don't see creatures like that often. They don't even exist in my area, but when I saw my first possum when I went to Texas it was awesome, but very creepy!

  • Hey, I'm in Texas and I'm currently raising nine opossum babies for release. Their mom was killed by a car. They're North America's only marsupial! They have pouches for their young like koalas and kangaroos (their closest relatives). Luckily, for these nine, someone stopped to check the dead mom's pouch and called a wildlife rehabiliator.

  • Call animal control on a possum? What would they do? "Yep, it's a possum." Why do some poeple make such huge deals out of seeing things like that? And that possum did NOT have rabies. You can tell, he'd be stumbling about and wouldn't be acting that calm. Huge muskrat.

  • People make huge deals because they don't know what possums are, and seeing something so damn freaky and scary looking when you haven't even seen a picture before, is a change out of our ordinary lives.

I once thought I saw my neighbor's cat and went down to pet it - a few inches away I realized it was a possum and freaked D: If you've been that close to one in person you'd see how scary they look.

  • Looks like it is stuck in thorny vines in the end

  • Playing dead, I think. It's cool how it has it's hand up like a wizard possum.

  • that's me at the end that saidwhat king of animal can curl up it's tail and that lives in a tree!!! tee hee it really is

  • All possums have fangs, but that one has a snaggletoof! How cute. xD

  • possums are cute!!!

  • hey be careful when u film those theyre supposed 2 be nocturnal so when theyre out during the day it means somethings wrong with it

  • u retard

  • XD What? You're a retard. lol

Opossums out in the day are probably rabid.

  • almost all possums have fangs like that. I went to see a women yesterday and she had a possum with only one fang. It was really quite sad.

It had been hit by a car and lost almost all the teeth on the left side of it's mouth.

  • ummm lol i searched possums to see if its really possums and not possi or whatever

  • that is really intense

  • These bastards sleep in my garbage and i have open my garbage and see it say hello to me

  • Say hello to my colt .45... lol jk i probably would have just called animal control

  • possum's got some good meat on em

  • Weird ? Freaky ? Nah, possums are cool, Want to see weird and freaky, come to NY and ride the subway. All sorts of insanity there.

  • I can only imagine! Well wasn't there that one thing that lived in the subway in the 80's? ..the.. um.. The Beast! If I recall, he had his own reality show about himself and his girlfriend.

  • I'd assume there'd be plenty of possums living in the subway. one got famous? lol

  • I VWANT TO SUCK YOUR BLOOD BLEH!!

  • Opossums are more beneficial than some of the commenters here. They eat slugs in the garden and are an important part of the ecosystem.

  • do skunks eat slugs to? cous i get skunks around my house

  • @flname743 they also eat the roadkill...........even they're own kin! lol

  • gahhhhh, i hate possums, i swear to this day i was being stalked by one when i was 5 =/

  • Be afraied...be very afraid!

  • damn that thing aint happy

  • Nice fangs:D They would look better as cuflings with my tuxedo thoug....

  • Muskrats don't climb trees its a possum wich is a member of the marsupiale family.

  • I reside in Manhattan NYC, Last night while I was visiting my mother, A Possum came thru the Bathroom Window, It was very friendly, It ate the Cat food I left out, for the cats in the back yard. It came back again, And, wanted more food. My dog was going Crazy, Barking and Druelling.

I have to get a trap, and put it on the Fire escape. So, I can get it to a safe place.

This one was full grown, And real Clean looking.

  • shoot it belive me they are pest those and racoons we have like 15 racoons on our porch every night i shot like 3 last month

  • n3r0588,

Opossums are part of the ecosystem. They clean our environment unlike filthy polluting humans. Humans are the true pests in the world. Watch my "Humans" video to see...

The reason why you have so many racoons on your porch is probably because there's food/trash on it...

  • I rescued a baby possum from my Great Dane once. That little fucker scared the shit out of us. He would growl and sound like ALF pissed off! I had to let the mean ass go.

  • Possumz rule! they are sooo cute

  • yeah and i cant beleive sumone marked ur name down

  • they're aren't cute, they're evil looking mean creatures

  • People that say they are defenseless are retarded

  • Possumz rule! they are sooo cute and they have mad skillz. lol lol lol!

  • Weird that this guy was out in the day . . . They're nocturnal critters. Cutie lil opossum :D

  • Yeah I had one sneak into my car back in June around 2pm in the afternoon. Took him home and took me 3 hours to get it out. Now it's chillin in the back eating my grapes xD

  • we all love possums

  • Possum Pie Time!!!

  • I had a big possum by my house last winter, if you want to see how big he was you can look at it in my videos.

  • It's not true that possums cannot get rabies. They do, though it is rare. About one in 800 possums get rabies according to Wikipeddia. Wild rats almost never carry rabies, and there has never been a recorded case of a human contracting rabies from a rat in the U.S.

  • Opossums are completely defenseless against predators, other than emitting a foul smell from their anal glands, and involuntarily falling into a coma-like state when threatened; hence the term "playing possum". They are actually very docile creatures and cleaner than house cats. They make great pets. Weird, right?

  • those things are the devil!

  • The first time I saw one of these ... my soul almost left me standing where I was

  • hahahahaha! Theres actually a mother possum with her 8 babies in my neighbors backyard here in Toronto. I'm sure some of the ladies in this neighborhood felt the exact same way.

  • Hey that's my Uncle Count, his bark is really worse that his bite. He was a big hit at Halloween back in the swamps. When we were kids he would scare us half to death. Great to see ya Uncle Count, YT superstar!!!

  • possums look so much like HUGE rats!! i never really looked up a possum's pic til now... wow O.o -- They're kinda cute!^^

  • Did you know that possums cannot get rabies? Their metabolism and body temperature is to low to support the virus, plus they have a very good immune system. Very helpful for an animal that eats anything.

  • "oiudsfo" Note to self: Buy a possum, set it on fire, twirl it by the tail then throw it at cars on the freeway. Also exercise a little more, I've been putting on weight.

  • HAAhaaha!

  • Possums here in Louisiana get like twice that size LOL...And of course its fun watching them play dead but dont fo
