  • The U.S. supreme court has historically made decisions which were unconstitutional. Therefore, the ICC lawyer cannot use that court decision to claim States within the U.S.A. must comply. Hence, judicial review or appeal can be made whether such a decision was constitutional.

  • There is nothing in the U.S. constitution that gives rights to any international court over States rights. U.S. citizens however, do have basic rights set forth by bill of rights under the U.S. constitution that does over rule State laws or procedures which are unconstitutional.

  • @ensconcedwithyu fuck you!

  • The Mexican Ambassador and Ban Ki Moon can go fuck themselves. The notion that the "World Court" can dictate whether or not Texas can execute Medellin is a fucking joke.

  • please, please subtitles in spanish :)

  • Aljazeera? Of course they are going to bash America.. That dirtbag Medellin got what he deserved. To bad he went peacfully, he should suffered like those poor to girls he and his POS friends murdered.....

  • Nice. The issue is whether or not they got the proper legal counsel. Never mind they perpetrated these murders. The legal system is so broken. When criminals of this magnitude are afforded more consideration than two 16 year old girls whose necks were stepped on after being gang raped and tortured. I don't give a rat's ass about some illegal's 'right to counsel' - here illegally? Raped and murdered? Yeah, let's take extra care to ensure his rights. VILE and disgusting.

  • I can't believe that piece of shit liberal academic lawyer and her ICJ appeal - clearly modern academics have lost sight of the brutal rape and murder of two girls. I didn't hear Babcock acknowledging THEIR families' pain in any way. Disgusting. No sympathy for those horrible boys who did this. What kind of human beings take life that casually? HOw dare they! Not one tear for those pigs. They were wasting space on our planet, killing our kids. Babcock makes me sick.

  • @ballaamir all the muslims should join a vacation in aushwitz.

  • charles - tex - watson is still alive. the us are such a racist nation

  • All of them had an easy death compared to what they did to their victims. I am not for the death penalty at all, I think it's rather ancient, but when you read about crimes like these, thats when you get enraged and wish they could've been beaten like joe pesci at the end of the movie casino.

  • Jose Medellin shoulda walked free pinche putos

  • @TheMaxDominguez you are fuking sick.sob.

  • @TheCoolcuban fuck you white puto

  • The interatonal court can go scew themselves. Medellin brutally raped and murdered two women in Texas. They had every right to try, convict, and sentence him to death for what he did. Where was the international court's concern for his victims? They never uttered one word of sympathy for his victims or their families, but put all their effort into defend their killer.

It was bad enough the victims' families had to wait 15 years to see justice done, but at least that was the end result.

  • This is incorrect: the black-shirted thug in handcuffs is NOT Joe Medellin, but Peter Cantu another member of the gang that savaged those two girls. (Cantu, who is American, just had his execution date set for August 17th.) The clip is showing Cantu's 1993 perp walk when he STILL couldn't stop himself from making threats towards news reporters. A complete mutt!

  • I read this book, I am not one for the death penalty as I am Canadian, and we don't support that but I have to admit, these boys deserve it. What they did to those poor girls, they got everything they deserve.

  • @lkats77 ture

  • got what he deserve fukked that that was my friends sister

  • Texas will always do what it wants to do.

  • who cares that he's mexican and got executed. he got what he deserved and should've gotten more! think about what the victims and their family have gone through.

  • this story scare the fuck out of me

  • Que bueno que le mataron, pichi pedazo de mierda. Creo que mato a otros tambien, possiblemente gays. Que le dolia!!!

  • Comment removed

  • im gald they killed him...he deserved it....

  • pray you don't get what you deserve

  • gwhite79, so you're okay with him raping and beating and strangling two girls? My brother is a fuckhead like him and deserves the same. Put all these gang fuckers on an island and drop a bomb!

  • How appalling. You really have no grasp of argument. My statement is that one should pray that one does not get what one deserves. Idid not say anything about me being ok with any disgusting crimes. Thankfully salvation means believers will not end up with what we deserve but what has been bought for us by the sacrifice of the cross.

  • The guy they show at the beginning of the video is the one that ordered the killing of the girls. He was the leader of the gang at the time.

  • md991free, bet he got bent over in prison and screamed like a little bitch!

  • do they have crime scene photos n the book?

  • why the fuck do you say that him bitch what about if it was you i bet you would be crying

  • If I had raped or murdered someone, i would hang myself.

  • no you wouldn't

  • im glad they killed that peice of shit

  • @3023301 ya want joy a natural death

  • The crime was committed in Texas. Texas has jurisdiction. Texas has the right to impose whatever criminal penalties it allows. Next issue.

  • And let's not forget about the victims.

  • but the victims are not in issue here

the victims would not be forgotten with life imprisonment

what's at stake is a US State flouting international law

  • If Texas is in breach of international legal obligations of the United States of America then no it does not. Next issue: get yourself clued up on international law that the US seeks to uphold.

  • @gwhite79

Sorry douchebag, but vague notions of "international law" do not take precedence over the United States Constitution. The Constitutiion is the supreme law of the land in the United States.

  • The death penalty is not used as much as it should. Jose, you deserve to die lust like the persons you killed. It is perfect justice. There is no other choice.

  • I want out of the UN. I believe in State's Rights! I also wish to abolish the death penalty.

I really feel for the young teenage girls who were gangraped and killed. Such a horrible thing. My love to their families.

  • Was he an american citizen? If he was not how come the police and the justice system did not know that?

    USA sucks!!!

  • The US still hangs and electrocutes (and even gasses) if a prisoner wishes to die that way (In select states).

  • Honestly, I wouldn't expect much more from Aljazeera. Schmucks.

  • I don't know if i'm for or against Death Penalty. You know , dying seems to be such a little thing compared to 60 years of prison. But on the other hand , the fact that you know you,re going to die must be fucking scary, that's why i can't choose between the 2 options and if you ask me , i wan't the worst possible things for those rapist assholes.

  • Shoot'em at the Rio Grande and leave'em to ROT in the water, thats a damn good deterrent!

From Texas state Corrections Officer. These filthy worthless SOB's have totally filled our prisons and the rest HAVE to commit identity theft to get a job. Go to TDCJ Deathrow statistics and browse the Mexican illegals on deathrow and the summary of crimes as well as the RACE of thier victims.

  • To hell with those pissant international courts. He got less than he deserved. Well done Texas, well done!!

  • poor rapper

  • if u commit a horrible crime like rape / murder, and do it in a sick way ( like tourtoring and prolongin the victims death ) then i think those found guilty should be killed the same way they killed....let them see how it is when they are treated the same way as their victim......:)

  • The only thing they did wrong was failing to torture him to death in a public execution.

  • If you rape and kill two young girls, you have the right to die as messy and painful as possible.

  • To all Anti-Death Penalty Advocates in the world, did any of you read the book "Pure Murder"? Did you see the crime scene pictures that were allowed to be placed in the book? Did you know that Medellin bragged of having "virgin blood on him" and that he and Sean O'Brien (executed in 2006) strangled Elizabeth Peña with O'Brien's belt because in his words "the bitch wouldn't die" while Peter Cantu killed Jennifer Ertman with by stomping on her?

Who is speaking for them and why aren't you?

  • Either way, the sick fucks deserve to die. Compared to what happened to the innocent girls they raped and beat to death, they got off far easier than they deserved in any sense of fairness.

  • who are we to decide who lives and who doesnt.

  • Who was he to decide that those two girls should be raped over and over again and then beat to death?

In all sense of fairness, he deserves the same treatment those girls got.

  • Let this be a lesson to everybody and anybody if your US born or not. You kill somebody in Texas, you WILL receive the needle. Texas is execution happy.

  • Who is the woman from Amsterdam?

  • "...every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding." article 6 us constitution

now that tells me if the treaty overrides constitutional or STATE law it is void (that is if i am understanding it correctly which i am sure i am)

  • this jose guy didnt even tell anybody he was mexican untill five years after he was convicted that means he gave up his right to representation

  • wtf is the 'hag'

  • yay he died! and the other guy did too! now lets stop giving them 15 extra years of life and kill them within 1 year of conviction!

  • sorry that was a reply to electango

i am concerned with my rights.

  • Sorry. I'm concerned with the rights of innocent victims of gangsters who kill for fun. If they need someone to man a firing squad or pay for rope to hang the rapist-murderers, I'm the man for the job. As a garden needs weeds removed to grow healthy vegetables, so society needs gangsters, rapists and murderers executed.

  • to electango

so am i. and i am concerned with my rights. and governor perry is a jerk because he just threw out the vienna convention rights of, not merely texans, but all americans. short-sighted egotistical idiot. would it have hurt to wait a few more months and execute this guy legally? perhaps they will pick the governor up on his next trip to honduras. i can only hope.

i don't like people messin' with my rights, or other people's.

  • This hyena was convicted in Texas of raping and murdering two children and then sat in state prison for 18 years. How come the International Court isn't concerned with the rights of the murdered children? How come all the International Court wants is to deprive the families of those two children of justice simply due to their opposition to the death penalty? I'd have given him 30 days after conviction and then death by hanging. No more of this lethal injection easy way out. Hang him high.

  • to electango

what about the rights of over 300 million americans tossed out the window?

  • The hyena had 18 years free room and board endless appeals YEARS to investigate when he should have been hanged 30 days after his conviction. You just don't get it, do you? You protect the rights of over 300 million Americans by eliminating child rapists and murders from their presence, not by making it easier and easier to practice rape and murder! Plus by hanging child rapists and murderers, you protect children and make America safer. To hell with the World Court!

  • i get that you don't care about the rule of law, justice, or the world court. i get that you are more concerned about the rights of two *dead* girls than 300+ million *living* americans. i get that you probably don't travel abroad, or you would care about your vienna convention rights. i get that you are frustrated that it took the state of texas 15+ years to execute this p.o.s. 15+ yrs, and texas still screwed it up! why can't texas follow the law when it executes people? makes me mad.

  • You want to hand control of the Texas Judicial System to European bureaucrats because you oppose the death penalty. You want European bureaucrats unknown to anyone in America to have power over America because they are more liberal. What's needed, however, is a more conservative approach especially in high crime areas. The Death Penalty is needed for child rapists and murderers and since European bureaucrats oppose the death penalty, they should have no say over the Texas judicial system.

  • to electango

i am trying to figure out if you are talking to me. i am not sure since i never said that i opposed the death penalty. if you are replying to me, then you just started making up stuff and i really don't know what to think except you just don't care to be responsive to my arguments at this point. so, perhaps, it's time to move on.

btw, california has the death penalty and we haven't had any problems with the icj. so the world court is obviously not the problem. texas is.

  • I believe the ICJ is trying to impose itself upon the US judicial systems primarily at this time because the ICJ is opposed to the death penalty. I made the assumption that you were a death penalty opponent due to your support for the ICJ. I apologize.

  • Perhaps you can explain why Texas should outsource its judicial system to Vienna or Brussels. Does there exist in Europe some great font of knowledge that can't be found in Texas? Also, do the Iranians who apply Islamic Law allowing the ICJ jurisdiction over their lawmaking? How about the Russians or the Chinese? And what happens if the ICJ adopts Islamic Law in order to be relevant to the large number of Muslims in the world. Should we then adopt Islamic Law?

  • You like the World Court now because it is in the hands of liberal anti death penalty European bureaucrats. However, if one follows your prescription for handing power over America to the World Court, how will you feel if the World Court comes under the control of say, the Chinese pro death penalty bureaucrats? This is a very real future possibility. So it's better worldwide to maintain local control and to oppose world government which might impose totalitarianism worldwide.

  • America is a sovereign nation, and is not bound by "international law". All those attempting to destroy its sovereignty are traitors and should be treated accordingly.

  • to ronarprfct

according to the u.s. constitution, we are bound by some international law. so by arguing against intl law, you put down our constitution.

furthermore, if nations cannot be bound by intl law, then why have any agreements? next time you are in a foreign country, your american passport will be something you can whip your backside with, and that's about it.

finally, without intl law, its ok for iraq to take kuwait; iran to build nukes; and china to censor and jail journalists.

  • Exactly, we shouldn't be meddling in the affairs of other sovereign nations any more than they should be meddling in ours. What part of the original constitution said anything about following international law? Let Kuwait defend itself. Let Iran build nukes if they are able. It is just hypocrisy to claim we can have nukes and someone else can't. Let the Chinese handle their own problems as well. The original founders said to have "tangling alliances with none" meaning no other countries.

  • to nonarprfct

us constitution §3.2 talks about treaties. it indicates that treaties signed by our govt BECOME part of the constitution.

i do not know what you mean by "original" constitution.

i believe thomas jefferson is the only "original" founder to have warned about "foreign intanglements." it is good advice.

i agree with your recent points. i guess i am an isolationist to some extent. i just want my rights to be protected when i travel. that requires reciprocity of intl law.

  • "...all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding." They don't become part of the constitution(an amendment would be required), and they aren't binding if they contradict the constitution or state laws. They are the supreme law of the land, exceptions above noted.

  • to ronarprfct

so now you want to argue about what "supreme law of the land" means???

please, my friend, supreme law of the land means just that. no exceptions.

  • Who is arguing? You said any treaties became part of the constitution, which isn't true. Admit your mistake and move on.

  • to ronarprfct

if you wanted to say that treaties do not become part of the constitution but become the supreme "law of the land," then i would agree with you. i should have phrased it that way. i admit my mistake. thanks. :)

  • No, problem. I was myself mistaken about the power given to treaties in the constitution, said exceptions notwithstanding. I wouldn't have thought the founders would've made treaties even that binding, and would've better protected our sovereignty than that. Perhaps the globalists had something to do with that.

  • the only problom here is that they didn't execute that piece of garbage as soon as he was proven guilty. he lived longer than he should of.

  • 12 mins and 48 secs - and they never ONCE mentioned Jennifer Ertman or Elizabeth Pena, or what those sick bastards did to them.

F*ck the ICJ. I will listen to their opinion only after an illegal sack of shit and his gang banging friends heinously rape (vaginally, orally and anally) and brutally torture and murder two of THEIR innocent little girls, and then laugh and brag about it afterward!

THEN the ICJ can say how they feel about killing this mother fker. Until then, they can just STFU!

  • well said

  • im glad they didnt respect no Vienna CACA , im mexican and ashamed of this medellin piece of shit..

    Im glad he was killed...lol..

    have a nice day..jajajaja

  • What kind of "World Court" defends vicious murderers and rapists? These international lawyers just oppose the death penalty even for child murderers. Preposterous.

  • UN Reciprocity against the US? Sounds pretty new world orderish..

  • i hope governor perry gets locked up in mexico and they tell him, sorry, texas doesn't adhere to the vienna convention, so we don't either. oh, and have a nice day.

  • I'm glad you're concerned with the rights of murderers and rapists along with the World Court. Have a nice day.

  • i am concerned with my rights.

  • They kill citizens and we're hassling about these murderer's rights?

Do their victims have any rights to be avenged?

  • Screw International laws!!! That POS deserved to die, but not the way he did!!! They shoulded burn his balls bown, cut his winner off, had a hammer sticked into his but.hole and then, shot in the head!!!

  • You can void the law with the law and make it meaningless. The man deserved death--but you make his execution unjust if you do not follow the LAW. What they did would be no different than if they had not read him his Miranda rights. Now, because of the US's flagrant disregard for its OWN treaties, it will have to answer the price: US citizens living abroad are now in even more endangered. Yes, executed the son of a bitch; but let the law shield you. So the blood doesn't get in your eyes.

  • Pure evil at work. Recognize it's thirst for blood.

  • thank you, AlJazeeraEnglish
