Seriously, watching this video I had to pause and take a deep breath before she threw the tittle away. And that's what she thought of the WWE Tittle. Look who's made the biggest mistake of her life. [damn]" That title is small.
Madusa made a major blunder by doing this. She keeps sayIng: I still have the original women's title belt-rescued from garbage can-actually, Rocking Robin still as the belt from 1989.
Honestly,, she is the reason the Montreal Screwjob happened. Vince thought Bret would do the same and wouldn't take a chance, even if Bret promised he wouldn't.
@Donnymac Actually it wasen't. This isn't the first time McMahon screwed someone. Remember Wendi Richter? You should watch one of the trailers for Jim Cornette's Timeline shoot with KayfabeCommentaries where he talks about Shawn, Bret and the Montreal Screwjob. The deal was for Bret to win by DQ and then to have him surrender the title the next night on RAW. If that happened then Bret wouldn't be able to drop the belt in a trash can on Nitro. The whole thing was a clusterfuck.
1:21, Eric eyes the belt and almost puts it around his own waist. Finally decides it would make his ass look fat, reluctantly gives up his secret dream.
THIS is what Vince feared would happen after Money in the Bank July 17 when Punk's contract expired. He feared Punk would go to Impact Wrestling and DUMP the WWE Spinner belt in the trash like Madusa did with the old WWE Women's Title.
THAT'S what Vince meant about "getting embarrassed" when he told Cena before his match.
@DragonLord1975 thats not what he thought. (in the storyline) he thought he would leave with the belt like he thought Bret would leave after his match with Shawn Michaels. The mere presense of his title somewhere else is what bothered him like when Ric Flair brought the NWA Heavyweight Championship to WWF when he left WCW. Truth is, Vince would NEVER EVER AGAIN allow a champion to defend a title against someone leaving the company the day after. It just doesnt make any sense.
@DragonLord1975 It was obvious that Punk was signed the b4 the RAW b4 MIB because of all the things Punk said. Vince wouldn't allow that stuff to be said on the air. RAW is not live, it's on a 7 second delay. That stuff wouldn't been all bleeped out.

You know that Vince Mcmahon was scared that Bret Hart would go to WCW and do the same thing with the WWF title. I don't think that Bret Hart would have taken the WWF title to WCW with him and thrown it into the trash can. But then again, I never would have thought that Madusa would have done something like that either.
i cant really understand how she was still able to keep the championship after she left the wwf, surely if your leaving you have to give the title back to the company?, what did she just hide in her bag and run off with it, its just doesnt make any sense.

@paul21mclovin Well I'll tell you this much. Back then for her to even say the phrase "WWF women's title" was a big deal bucause the promotions never even acknwoledged each other's existance back then so it was always a big deal when someone did this, like when Flair showed up WWF programming with the WCW belt. Notice he never called himself the WCW champion, but the "real world champion" cuz they acted like no other company existed at the time.

@marcalu wwf didn't know about this.and this is also one of the reasons for montreal screwjob.vince thought bret would do the same.it's about the reputation of the company.
This kind of started the Montreal Screwjob. Bret Hart did not want to lose the world title at Survivor Series. Vince was scared that Bret would take the world title to WCW.
I agree; Vince did not screw Bret (he did but go with it for a while), Madusa screwed Bret.
Was not the same Eric Bitchoff waiting for Bret in 1997 and he was for Madusa in 1995. Of course, Madusa career went no place after this anyway so hey, could not have happened to a nicer lady.
Nevertheless, she should be in the WWE HOF BEFORE both Trish and Lita; and WITH Bull Nakano.
haha Madusa regretted doing that. Am glad she is in good terms with WWE now. There's a chance she will be inducted in HoF since she's in the Alumni section same goes with Macho Man. i guess the catalyst was when bret hart made amends. As a wrestling fan since child. this is heartwarming. Still crosses fingers with Chyna.
Kayfabe was definately broken here staged or not, one wrestling organization talking about another on the air was taboo back then but the Monday Night Wars ended all that
I hope Shelton Benjamin does the exact same thing soon with that crappy Cena belt on a live edition of the Impact Zone, I still haven't gotten over the fact that WWE decided to give the legendary World Heavyweight Title to some nameless guy from Oklahoma instead of Shelton who has been deserving of it for YEARS
@paul34391 The only thing I struggle with is your inability to understand the English language and to dismiss the comments not only of myself but many of the other posters--it is not obvious, as many have said, that Bobby Heenan was in on the act; nor is Madusa's decision to participate in the travesty clear--whether she and Bishoff dreamed this up together or she was just following orders I suspect she would have told Eric to go pound salt if she thought Vince would be around for the future.
well i gotta point out yes henan brought the big gold belt onto wwf t.v. but at the time wcw owed rich flair money they could'nt pay him so the belt was his until they paid up, so really eric should have been upset with flair not the wwf, but i do beleave bret was gonna dump the wwf belt in the trash or sumin worst on nitro if vince did'nt screw bret
vince had already sued WCW for this stunt. Do you really think WCW would have wanted another lawsuit? I seriously doubt as stupid as the management there could be they would risk it by having bret show the WWF belt on TV. I also doubt Bret would have done something like that as he would have "burned his bridges" with Vince and bret doesn't seem the type to me.
@michaelbook18 dude you for get how evil bisshoff is an the crazt sh it he was doing, wwf sueing wcw that a joke really how many times did bisshoff say he was playing with a billionairs money ted turner would have paid up just to embaress vince, an hitman well we all know he was upset at havin to leave that vince would'nt keep him under contract for the money he wanted, think about it why did vince screw bret if not for fear of his belt showin up on nitro
Bischoff isn't an idiot either. Sure, he convinced her to drop that belt in the trash.....but notice he never trusted her ever win the WCW Woman's title (Akira Hokuto won it in the tournament, defended it once, then the title disappeared). When you burn a bridge on your way over, some times the place you go to takes note and makes your you don't do the same to them. She didn't trash the Woman's title as much as her carreer.
@Laz911 but still that was shocking, the women's division was slowly gaining promise in the WWF with them bringing up some good japanese wrestlers over and Alundra being already scheduled to defend the belt at the Royal Rumble against some huge woman named Aja Kong, in WCW Madusa was booked in a "love triangle" storyline with Sherri Martel and Col. Robert Parker that went nowhere
Madusa defends what she did by saying I was only following orders--but would Bishoff have fired his newly hired women's superstar--did Madusa think that McMahon was finished as in 1995 WWE was having hard times before the advent of the attitude era--did Madusa expect to be women's champion and did Eric doublecross her--no women's title and her name forever associated with this rather tacky act.
@RPenta perhaps that's why the WWF hurried in giving Bret one last title run and in giving Undertaker and Shawn Michaels their very deserving World Title reigns as well just in case they had to shut down, having Diesel as the the last champion of the company would had been anti-climatic, Mcmahon tried to duplicate the magic of Hulkamania with Diesel, and that almost ended up blowing in his face
See, that is why they failed. Most of the "shots" that were being done during the Monday Night War were by WCW against the WWF. They were always so concerned about dissing the WWF and trying to take shots at them, while the WWF, while they did take a few shots of their own, primarily just ignored it and pretty much went about their business, as if WCW wasn't an issue.
Well, they did get WWF did kind of draw first blood with the whole debacle when Heenan brought out the WCW belt on WWF programming only to have Piper spit on it.
I don't like calling women bad names like that but I have a lot of issues with what she did; I have more issues over the fact that she cannot understand why fans have issues with that and that an apology is in order; the problem I think is Madusa's ego.
@RPenta Bobby Heenans reaction is perfect to what all the respected names in the business thought when she did that. You noticed that he was basically speechless...
Question: Did Bischoff not let Bobby know what he and Madusa were up to?
Question: Did Madusa agree to do it because she thought WWF was headed for extinction? Even if Bischoff ordered her to do it--which I am not sure I believe--would she have done it knowing that her WCW time would come to end (again) and she would have to face the wrath of Don Vinnie?
@RPenta Heenan had no clue from what Ive researched only Eric and Madusa knew. People need to remember that the only rivalry was between Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon. People who were in WWF were friends with WCW people (ex The Kliq). So Yea his reaction was I think Bobby Heenan the Man and not the Character... This was such a stupid move on Madusa. I dont care how much you are getting paid nothing justify's doing something like that...
i dont understand the politic in wrestling. Why Medusa and Bret Hart still posses the WWF championship belt even after they jumped company? Is that belt is WWF's proprietary?
Becuz it was THEIR belts, not the WWF's! Pay attantion...YOU could have a belt if u wanted it, u can order exact replica belts from WWE, and its pretty much the real thing!
Why don't they collect the titles before everyone goes home for the day. God damn. And if the titles are held on to outside of shows, they should be pressed charges against for larceny.
So Vince actually give them those belts? Like there was nothing he could legally do? I mean that's theft right? Not that I care, I am glad she did it but I find it odd he lets them keep those things they are insanely expensive I would imagine. Is there anything from keeping guys from going to TNA and doing this? I hope mickie james does it too.
Why this comment has thumbs down?? Vince has been humiliating Mickie in the past few weeks. She deserves that good laugh. What better way to get some payback than dumping the woman's title on TNA??
@TheNorb82 My comment got thumbs down from all the little WWE marks who prolly get enjoyment out of watching a beautiful person like Mickie James get treated like shit on national TV! Its sick...Mickie has busted her ass for WWE and this is the thanx she gets...she better get that title at the Royal Rumble for all the crap shes been put through!
@TheNorb82 Well i like Sheamus...mostly becuz its someone fresh and new in the title picture...and not the same old Cena, or Triple H, or Randy Orton...seeing those 3 was getting really old!
And Sheamus plays his gimmick really well(and on a side note, i swear he would pass as the twin brother of a good friend of mine lol)
yea and mickie is fine with the storyline, its JUST a storyline she knows shes not fat and it doesnt humiliate her. Its all in the script buddy. BTW fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk TNA they are WCW copycats
Something that's puzzling me, for incidents like this (and things like NWO taking over the commentators table), how could the fans in attendance (with no TurnerTron yet) actually SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON to ilicit a reaction?? Seems kinda pointless and funny at the same time
Madusa could not cut a promo to saye her life; her most famous line in her AWA days was accusing her rivals of basically using sexual favors with the championship committee to get title shots. Very tacky.
Well who gives a shit about a hall of fame, that do not have greats like Madusa and Bruno Sanmartino in it. But instead, have Pete Rose and Koko B. Ware. Their are other hall of fames, like the pro wrestloing hall of fame, that are more prestigious than your stupid wwe hall of fame. PS, Madusa is great" new fan" and Kelly Kelly will never be her. Maybe you should do some research on pro wrestling history. Because before Trish Stratus, or Kelly Kelly, there was Madusa, and don't you forget it.
hennan doesnt know wtf is goin on here..... this is bullshitt and as gtz1975 said this is what provoked the montreal screw job, vince didnt want this shitt to happen twice. Man i wonder what kind of crap is bischof takin to TNA.....
LOL early 90's sucked for women's wrestling: Alundra Blaze, Bertha Faye, Bull Nakano, Luna Vachon, Scary Sherri.

@marcalu
This kind of started the Montreal Screwjob. Bret Hart did not want to lose the world title at Survivor Series. Vince was scared that Bret would take the world title to WCW.

@hustleking17 Madusa screwed Bret!
tubehows4life 1 year ago 2
@tubehows4life
I agree; Vince did not screw Bret (he did but go with it for a while), Madusa screwed Bret.
RPenta 1 year ago
@tubehows4life Ikr. Vince would've never thought of screwing Bret, if Madusa/Alundra did that haha!

haha Madusa regretted doing that.

I hope Shelton Benjamin does the exact same thing soon with that crappy Cena belt on a live edition of the Impact Zone, I still haven't gotten over the fact that WWE decided to give the legendary World Heavyweight Title to some nameless guy from Oklahoma instead of Shelton who has been deserving of it for YEARS
tmbttes 1 year ago
@paul34391 The only thing I struggle with is your inability to understand the English language and to dismiss the comments not only of myself but many of the other posters--it is not obvious, as many have said, that Bobby Heenan was in on the act; nor is Madusa's decision to participate in the travesty clear--whether she and Bishoff dreamed this up together or she was just following orders I suspect she would have told Eric to go pound salt if she thought Vince would be around for the future.
RPenta 1 year ago
well i gotta point out yes henan brought the big gold belt onto wwf t.v. but at the time wcw owed rich flair money they could'nt pay him so the belt was his until they paid up, so really eric should have been upset with flair not the wwf, but i do beleave bret was gonna dump the wwf belt in the trash or sumin worst on nitro if vince did'nt screw bret
onedynasty316 1 year ago
@onedynasty316
Why?
vince had already sued WCW for this stunt. Do you really think WCW would have wanted another lawsuit? I seriously doubt as stupid as the management there could be they would risk it by having bret show the WWF belt on TV. I also doubt Bret would have done something like that as he would have "burned his bridges" with Vince and bret doesn't seem the type to me.
michaelbook18 1 year ago
@michaelbook18 dude you for get how evil bisshoff is an the crazt sh it he was doing, wwf sueing wcw that a joke really how many times did bisshoff say he was playing with a billionairs money ted turner would have paid up just to embaress vince, an hitman well we all know he was upset at havin to leave that vince would'nt keep him under contract for the money he wanted, think about it why did vince screw bret if not for fear of his belt showin up on nitro

The Montreal Screwjob prob wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for him
Sneezlebob 1 year ago
@Sneezlebob
Is him Eric Bischoff?
RPenta 1 year ago
Bischoff isn't an idiot either. Sure, he convinced her to drop that belt in the trash.....but notice he never trusted her ever win the WCW Woman's title (Akira Hokuto won it in the tournament, defended it once, then the title disappeared). When you burn a bridge on your way over, some times the place you go to takes note and makes your you don't do the same to them. She didn't trash the Woman's title as much as her carreer.
Laz911 1 year ago
@Laz911
A brilliant comment; if Madusa would betray Don Vinnie, she would betray him if the opportunity or in her view the necessity arose.
RPenta 1 year ago
@Laz911 but still that was shocking, the women's division was slowly gaining promise in the WWF with them bringing up some good japanese wrestlers over and Alundra being already scheduled to defend the belt at the Royal Rumble against some huge woman named Aja Kong, in WCW Madusa was booked in a "love triangle" storyline with Sherri Martel and Col. Robert Parker that went nowhere
tmbttes 1 year ago
@tmbttes
RPenta 1 year ago
@RPenta perhaps that's why the WWF hurried in giving Bret one last title run and in giving Undertaker and Shawn Michaels their very deserving World Title reigns as well just in case they had to shut down, having Diesel as the the last champion of the company would had been anti-climatic, Mcmahon tried to duplicate the magic of Hulkamania with Diesel, and that almost ended up blowing in his face
tmbttes 1 year ago
@tmbttes
Kevin Nash sucked as a champion--I am sorry that idiot McMahon had the great Bob Backlund do a squash match to Diesel.
RPenta 1 year ago
i read that this led to "the montreal screwjob" because vince was afraid that bret was going to do the same thing to the world title
wheelsJP 1 year ago
See, that is why they failed. Most of the "shots" that were being done during the Monday Night War were by WCW against the WWF. They were always so concerned about dissing the WWF and trying to take shots at them, while the WWF, while they did take a few shots of their own, primarily just ignored it and pretty much went about their business, as if WCW wasn't an issue.
Sanguiluna 1 year ago
@Sanguiluna What your saying is happening in TNA right wow, and TNA will suffer the same fate

Well, they did get WWF did kind of draw first blood with the whole debacle when Heenan brought out the WCW belt on WWF programming only to have Piper spit on it.

what a fucking bitch she sold her company out. not even that, but disrespected the shit out of the WWF.
giannaluva65 2 years ago
I don't like calling women bad names like that but I have a lot of issues with what she did; I have more issues over the fact that she cannot understand why fans have issues with that and that an apology is in order; the problem I think is Madusa's ego.
RPenta 1 year ago
@RPenta Bobby Heenans reaction is perfect to what all the respected names in the business thought when she did that. You noticed that he was basically speechless...
kjag23 1 year ago
@kjag23
RPenta 1 year ago

SymphonyOfDestruct99 2 years ago
Becuz it was THEIR belts, not the WWF's! Pay attantion...YOU could have a belt if u wanted it, u can order exact replica belts from WWE, and its pretty much the real thing!
SpyderOne1981 2 years ago
Why would she give up someting that good? They could have turned it into the WCW Women' Championship and she would still have her title.
WWEChampion16 2 years ago
Why don't they collect the titles before everyone goes home for the day. God damn. And if the titles are held on to outside of shows, they should be pressed charges against for larceny.
zardcat1111 2 years ago
So Vince actually give them those belts? Like there was nothing he could legally do? I mean that's theft right? Not that I care, I am glad she did it but I find it odd he lets them keep those things they are insanely expensive I would imagine. Is there anything from keeping guys from going to TNA and doing this? I hope mickie james does it too.
ResistanceAlpha 2 years ago
They get replica belts or something...like the ones u can order online from WWE...they are pretty much the real thing!
And i would laugh my ass off it Mickie took a womens title and jumped to TNA with it....she deserves a good laugh at Vince's expense!
SpyderOne1981 2 years ago
Why this comment has thumbs down?? Vince has been humiliating Mickie in the past few weeks. She deserves that good laugh. What better way to get some payback than dumping the woman's title on TNA??
TheNorb82 2 years ago 4
@TheNorb82 My comment got thumbs down from all the little WWE marks who prolly get enjoyment out of watching a beautiful person like Mickie James get treated like shit on national TV! Its sick...Mickie has busted her ass for WWE and this is the thanx she gets...she better get that title at the Royal Rumble for all the crap shes been put through!
SpyderOne1981 2 years ago 2
Unfortunately, today's WWE bookers are most likely to give the titles to the less wrestling talented like Michelle McCool.
Same with Sheamus and Drew.
TheNorb82 2 years ago
@TheNorb82 Well i like Sheamus...mostly becuz its someone fresh and new in the title picture...and not the same old Cena, or Triple H, or Randy Orton...seeing those 3 was getting really old!
And Sheamus plays his gimmick really well(and on a side note, i swear he would pass as the twin brother of a good friend of mine lol)
SpyderOne1981 2 years ago
lol that's a good reason!!
I think he's just overrated wrestler like Cena or Batista.
TheNorb82 2 years ago
yea and mickie is fine with the storyline, its JUST a storyline she knows shes not fat and it doesnt humiliate her. Its all in the script buddy. BTW fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk TNA they are WCW copycats
giannaluva65 2 years ago 7
Is that in the script??? No fucking way Mr Obvious!!! It's still humiliating. TNA have some good matches. But ur right about being WCW copycats.
TheNorb82 2 years ago 10
that was the real one...real gold, u can even see by how fast it hits the trash can
giannaluva65 2 years ago
mickie james needs to do this before she leaves casue wwe keep makeing fun of her with fat jokes
wrfrock 2 years ago 5
Something that's puzzling me, for incidents like this (and things like NWO taking over the commentators table), how could the fans in attendance (with no TurnerTron yet) actually SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON to ilicit a reaction?? Seems kinda pointless and funny at the same time

I bet she wish she had of waited it out. 3 years later, WWE restarts their womens division, and WCW was on its way out.

Madusa could not cut a promo to saye her life; her most famous line in her AWA days was accusing her rivals of basically using sexual favors with the championship committee to get title shots. Very tacky.
RPenta 1 year ago
Regardless of this event. Madusa is still a legend and is one of the greatest women, to ever be in wrestling.
lettersfromaboy 2 years ago
but this stint basically sealed her coffin. that bitch ain't never gonna be in the hall of fame now hahah.
RantNRavinFection 2 years ago
