The Maya is a Mesoamerican civilization. Initially established during the Pre-Classic period (c. 2000 BC to 250 AD), according to the Mesoamerican chronology, many Maya cities reached their highest state development during the Classic period (c. 250 AD to 900 AD), and continued throughout the Post-Classic period until the arrival of the Spanish. At its peak, it was one of the most densely populated and culturally dynamic societies in the world.
I love Tulum and have been going there for 28 years. I am sadden by all the trash dumped there by vistors and locals alike. I learned from many locals that most of the trash is deposited by People from Mexico city who are in the habit of just tossing out litter anywhere they choose without regard to the beautiful surrounding or that it ends up in the water where it is carried to the biosphere.
I like the way they are telling you that nature is respected here. total fraud. especially in The Biosphere there is so much trash you can't even lay on the beach which hasn't washed up from ships or currents but rather is from the local market-San Franciso .
Are those Myans at :31-:33

It is CORRECT the Maya culture goes back to even 1500 years BC for it's pre-classic period.

@hymsa Really? Are there ruins from that period? Aren't the main ruins at Tulum much younger?
